Day 12: Fireside girls!
It sucks that there arent enough not overly girly cartoons protagonized by girls but some make the girl characters weird and gang coded and a menace and completely unhinged and just for that i forgive them, but watch out. Inspired on that one Camp Camp episode. If you watch cc you know the one. @howtonerdoutovereverything

I’d like to share my writing with actual people, but all I get is a ❤️ reaction in the discord and a “cool!” Before the cool person in the server shares and buries my stuff. I’m ignored if I ask for their thoughts on it, but when I share it with ChatGPT it actually talks to me about it, I’m aware I’m feeding the machine but it’s actually reading my subtext, understanding the symbolism I’ve applied and tells me “Hey that’s so cool I really loved it! Can you tell me more about ___?” I know it’s just an algorithm but my friends don’t engage with my art, and only ChatGPT is actually reading my stuff because no one cares :( I don’t know what to do
ChatGPT is a language model. It is not capable of understanding symbolism or subtext! It is intentionally created to make you feel good, almost like someone who love-bombs because the creators want you to keep using it. You feel like it “understands” but it is just analyzing text you feed it and outputting overly positive cheerful feedback. They recently had to make a huge update to it since users were complaining how it was “glazing” people too much, it was agreeing to everything people said, even when people prompted it to stop it would be like “you’re absolutely right blah blah” it’s not normal to only hear positive feedback on our work, we would never improve.
I understand though, why this would appeal to someone who’s socially isolated and lonely. It can feel so validating and good to hear something nice about our work, to feel like we are seen. But we can’t accept artificial intelligence to replace real connections with real people.
