Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are hitting the brakes on their romance.

The "As It Was" singer, 28, and theDon't Worry Darling director, 38, are "taking a break" from their relationship after nearly two years together, multiple sources confirm exclusively to PEOPLE.

"He's still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A.," says one source. "It's a very amicable decision."

Indeed, Wilde — along with her children, daughter Daisy, 6, and son Otis, 8 (she co-parents with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis) — were spotted dancing and singing along at Styles'Nov. 15 concert in Los Angeles.

"They're still very close friends," says the source of the pair. Adds a friend: "Right now, they have different priorities that are keeping them apart."

Styles, who is heading abroad for his Love on Tour shows, and Wilde were first linked in January 2021 after they werephotographed holding handswhile attending a friend's wedding.

Last month, Wilde was also spotted by fans cheering on Styles from the crowd at his Harryween concert in Los Angeles on Oct. 31. In late September, the two were photographed kissing on the street in New York City.

Over the course of their relationship, Wilde and Styles have had to enduredrama surrounding the release of their film Don't Worry Darling, namely persistent claims that Wilde and the film's leading actress, Florence Pugh, were at odds.

"The public pressure on them has been difficult," says the friend. "They've had ups and downs throughout the relationship."

In September,40 members of the crew and production teamwere moved to release a statement hitting back at the endless rumors.

"As a crew, we've avoided addressing the absurd gossip surrounding the movie we're so proud of, but feel the need to correct the anonymous 'sources' quoted in a recent article," said the team, adding that Wilde was "an incredible leader and director."

The Booksmart director previously explained toVanity Fair why she keeps details of her romance with Styles private: "I think once you crack open the window, you can't then be mad when mosquitos come in."

Styles, meanwhile, told Rolling Stone in August that he also wanted to keep his personal life under wraps.

"I've never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it's benefited me positively," he told the outlet. "There's always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn't going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way."

Though the actress and the Grammy-winning singer never confirmed their relationship, Wilde was often spotted in the crowd at Styles' Love on Tour shows, and was photographed on multiple occasions sporting his merchandise on coffee runs, including a Love on Tour T-shirt.

The two were seen kissing on a yacht in Monte Argentario, Italy in July 2021, and in November, eagle-eyed fans noticed Wilde wearing what appeared to be the same gold cross necklaceStyles wore to the Grammys at a fashion show. They were also photographed in Italy together this past May.

In aninterview with Voguepublished in December 2021, Wilde did not address the former One Direction singer by name, but said she was "happier than I've ever been."

"It's obviously really tempting to correct a false narrative," she said. "But I think what you realize is that when you're really happy, it doesn't matter what strangers think about it. All that matters to you is what's real, and what you love, and who you love."

Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles are still going strong despite ongoing drama surrounding the actress' split from ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.

"Harry and Olivia are great. They're better than ever. They rise above this sort of thing all the time and they're just moving forward with their relationship and are happy and thriving," a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Another insider close to Wilde says the Don't Worry Darling director, 38, and Styles, 28, are currently in Los Angeles together, where Styles is playing shows over the next several weeks.

"Olivia is happy that Harry is around. All the drama is a lot and definitely affects her," says the insider. "Olivia and Jason don't have very much contact. When they do, it's all about the kids. They co-parent as best as they can."

Sudeikis, 47, is currently working in London, and their children — son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 6 — "have been in L.A. in school," adds the first source. "They visit him from time to time. The kids are always Olivia and Jason's No. 1 priority."

Meanwhile, a Styles source acknowledges the "controversy surrounding their relationship and movie" — rumors continue to persist that Wilde and Don't Worry Darling's leading actress, Florence Pugh, are at odds — hasn't been easy, but the musician isn't focusing on the drama.

"He likes to live a pretty care-free, happy life. Olivia has been stressed about [the drama] and it affects Harry too," says the Styles source. "But he has been very focused on enjoying their special relationship."

Though things appeared amicable between the exes for some time after news of their split broke in November 2020, Wilde and Sudeikis made headlines in April when the Ted Lasso actor served Wilde with legal documents regarding their children while onstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. (A source close to Sudeikis later told PEOPLE the actor "would never condone Wilde being served in such an inappropriate manner" and had "no prior knowledge of the time or place" the legal papers would be delivered.")

Earlier this week, Sudeikis and Wilde's former nanny alleged details about their breakup, including that Sudeikis was blindsided and "brokenhearted" by Wilde's then-new relationship with Styles.

"As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly," Wilde and Sudeikis said in a joint statement. "Her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex."

Poker-faced Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles have been pictured together for the first time since DailyMail.com's bombshell interview with the actress's former nanny.

The couple both looked glum as they ate at LA restaurant Pace on Wednesday night, with onlookers telling DailyMail.com the usually tactile pair barely exchanged a glance during dinner.

Following dinner, they went on to see the band Wolf Alice play at the Wiltern Theater.

Wilde, 38, wore a simple black mini-dress and boots while flamboyant singer Styles, 28, chose a blue diamond-patterned knit tank and jeans for the early-evening meal.

Although the actress was seen smiling and chatting with friends who joined the couple for dinner, an observer told DailyMail.com that the As It Was singer was serious throughout the meal – which lasted just over an hour – and seemed withdrawn.

The couple even sat separately while leaving, as Styles was seen getting into the driver's seat and Wilde hopped in the back, letting a male friend ride shotgun.  

Pace, an Italian restaurant in Laurel Canyon, is close to Styles' LA home and boasts a 'cozy, romantic' atmosphere and serves up a menu of pasta and pizza made with 'locally sourced and organic ingredients'.

Wilde has previously been photographed at the neighboring Canyon Country Store – including on November 13 2020, just three days after she is said to have dumped ex-fiance Jason Sudeikis, leaving him distraught.

The new photos come after days of embarrassing revelations from Sudeikis and Wilde's former nanny who witnessed the acrimonious break-up firsthand.

Wilde had insisted that the split was a mutual decision and came in January 2020 but the nanny has challenged the 38-year-old's timeline and says it came much later, and was far from mutual. 

On Wednesday, DailyMail.com published photos of the ex-couple together in Malibu on September 8, 2020 where Wilde can be seen smiling lovingly at Sudeikis and wearing her vintage emerald and diamond engagement ring.

While Wilde has insisted her relationship with Sudeikis ended long before she started dating Styles in October 2020, the nanny pointed to the couple's Labor Day beach trip just two months earlier when she was seen wearing her engagement ring 

She began filming Don't Worry Darling with Styles a month later and was seen looking 'giddy' around the British star on set by the nanny.

Then, in early November 2020, Wilde moved out of the family's $4m home in the Silver Lake area of LA citing a Covid outbreak on set and settled into the $1,650-a-night Paramour Estate Hotel in LA.

Wilde then ended her engagement to Sudeikis – leaving him in shock and distraught – before going public with Styles in January 2021 when they were pictured together at his agent's wedding in Montecito, California.

The 38-year-old actress and film director has always insisted that she and Sudeikis parted ways in early 2020, telling Vanity Fair last month: 'Our relationship was over long before I met Harry.'

She added it was a 'horses**t' idea that she'd 'left Jason for Harry' and claimed the pair had decided to co-parent for as long as they could during Covid to make things easier on their children.

But the nanny, who spent three years caring for Otis, now eight, and Daisy, six, said her September 2020 beach trip with the couple and their kids prove that is not the case.

'Look at her ring on Labor Day Weekend (2020). We were in Malibu on Labor Day Weekend,' she told DailyMail.com.

'This was right before she started seeing Harry. She's wearing her engagement ring from Jason and laughing as she's on the beach.'

Sudeikis proposed to Wilde in 2013 after three years together with a diamond ring surrounded by a halo of emeralds.

At the time, Olivia said of the ring's history: 'All they know is that it went through Paris around 1921. I love imagining the story of this ring. Who had it? It's a bit of an aqua emerald, not a deep dark green. Jason said it reminded him of my eyes, which is very sweet.'

Despite her claim that the relationship was over, Wilde was reportedly discussing her marriage plans as recently as October 2020 according to the former nanny.

The nanny said she detailed plans to have daughter Daisy act as a flower girl during the ceremony which had been due to take place 'within a year'.

Olivia Wilde may not love the family dog, but she sure loves her children.

The actress was spotted being a good mom Tuesday on the heels of reports she upset the family by allegedly getting rid of the family pooch, Gordon, to spend more time with Harry Styles.

Olivia was having what appeared to be an emotional goodbye with her two children, Otis and Daisy, making sure to shower them with hugs and kisses before they climbed into a waiting limo.

The kids were traveling with backpacks and luggage ... which is interesting because their father, Jason Sudeikis, is across the pond in London.

As you know ... Olivia and Jason's ex-nanny is continuing to make nasty allegations against the estranged couple, even though they teamed up to call the nanny a liar. The latest salvo included claims Olivia gave up her dog within weeks of meeting Harry, allegedly so she could free up time to spend with the singer.

The nanny also claims Jason once told her Olivia only had the pup to keep up appearances and rarely looked after the pooch.

Olivia's not shying away from paparazzi here ... the sweet family moment photos came out right after the dog accusations surfaced.

Olivia's speech for ELLE Women in Hollywood - Oct 17 2022

Olivia Wilde would be the first to say her journey to becoming one of Hollywood’s leading actresses and female directors has been far different from any man’s. The Women in Hollywood nominee spoke at ELLE’s Getty Center celebration about just that: “the burning hellfire of the misogyny that defines this business.”

Her remarks came after Don't Worry Darling co-star Kate Berlant introduced her, noting how Wilde’s filmmaking style stands out in what is still a very male-dominated industry. “We need more voices like Olivia Wilde’s in Hollywood,” Berlant said. “She’s an artist and a visionary. And the women in her movies actually drive the action. They’re not just window dressing for men’s desires.”

Although Wilde only playfully alluded to the drama surrounding her film, she nevertheless used it as a jumping-off point, joking, “You are not a woman in Hollywood until you’ve begged to be placed into a medically induced coma until your press tour is finished.”

"Wow. I’ve learned so much from all of you tonight—mostly that there are apparently other covers with other women on them. Which is a real curveball. I was so honored and, frankly, shocked that you all showed up for my cover party, but this makes more sense. It tracks; it’s fine.

I’ve known some of you for a really, really long time, I believe it’s been 20 minutes. Some of you I could’ve even met when I was a casting assistant; I was the one who over-served you coffee for three hours and then told you we had no bathroom or parking validation. Sorry about that. You were great; we just went another direction. So, for those of you I’ve known forever, hi again. Still me. For those of you I haven’t met yet, it’s a pleasure. I am Olivia, member of the Sigourney sisterhood. I was an actress who started producing and then finally got the courage to start directing, and I wouldn’t have started any of it at all if I knew Twitter would be invented. But here I am. It’s a real thrill to have what is undeniably the greatest job on the planet.

I’m here tonight because the wonderful Nina Garcia did me the honor of adding me to a truly extraordinary list of women who have not only inspired me forever—forever—but who forged the very shape of this industry through their hard work, bold choices, and resilience. If one of us steps back, we all step back.

So, no matter how much the patriarchy relies on us to cut each other down in order to weaken our collective power, we have to resist the urge to play by their self-serving rules. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have released a joint statement regarding the highly publicized end of their relationship.

“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” their joint statement provided to CNN read. “Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.”

“We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone,” the statement concluded.
