been reading “this devotion may contain side-effects“ by @owepossum and as big fan of viktor as zaundads kid I love everything about it but especially the relationship viktor has with silco

this small piece of dialogue

“I want to keep counting.”

“Accounting.”

“Yes, the-counting! I like helping you Mr Silco. I like numbers.”

was particularly adorable to me but also thought-provoking. It gets so well both viktor‘s need to help, his exceptional intelligence and diligence but also has some sadness to it because accounting isn’t exactly children’s business - except that historically up until 20th century this was pretty much how a master-apprentice relationship functioned (even if viktor is little young for that even by those standards… maybe).
