Setelah menerima kenyataan United harus ditekuk untuk kedua kalinya oleh tim menengah asal Spanyol bernama Athletic Bilbao, saya teringat dengan komentar ini:

Ini adalah tudingan yang paling sering dialamatkan pada Liga Spanyol, terutama oleh penggemar EPL yang menilai Barcelona dan Real Madrid terlalu digdaya di ajang kompetisi domestik. Mereka menganggap Liga Spanyol tidak kompetitif dan oleh karenanya berasumsi bahwa 18 klub lainnya hanyalah obyek penderita yang berkualitas rendah.

Mari kita lihat:

Atletico Madrid vs Besiktas :3-1 Valencia-PSV:4-1 Barca-Bayer Leverkusen:10-2 United-Bilbao:2-3 

Benar, kita tidak bisa mengambil kesimpulan hanya dengan melihat satu pertandingan. Namun faktanya Spanyol adalah juara Dunia dan Eropa dengan para pemainnya yang tersebar tak hanya di Real Madrid dan Barcelona, melainkan Valencia, Bilbao, Villareal, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, dan klub EPL macam Chelsea dan Liverpool. Kesemuanya adalah klub-klub yang selalu menjadi penantang serius di ajang kontinental. Beberapa pemain Spanyol yang meramaikan EPL musim ini seperti De Gea, Jose Enrique, David Silva, dan Juan Mata terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap popularitas EPL.

So, let's accept the fact that the Spaniard are truly damn good and Messi will have no trouble rape all the EPL club. Yes, even Stoke.
