First post, let me give some background, so a few years ago now I started volunteering with a local political group, they are technically non partisan but are democrat adjacent. (I guess we, really) we're set up in a rural area with a couple of population centers, most of our work is in municipal elections, county and city stuff, along with endorsing state and federal. More recently weve been making a push for community mutual aid stuff as well. Effectively this group is like 5 people with a semi-active volunteer base, so like we can find people to knock doors and stuff come campaign season but trying to get someone to stand at a table at a community event is almost like pulling teeth. What im really here to complain about is some of the political groups we work with, both party organizations and non party ones, so thats what most of the posts are going to be about, also please ask questions, i feel like people dont care enough about their local politics and nobody runs for stuff, trust me it takes almost nothing to be a council member or mayor of a small town, and you can make a difference, it's just boring as hell.
