Bored teenagers, with no internet nor tv. What else was to do besides going to a prom? Taking care of things, maybe. Well, that was something easier said that done. “Are you going to go?” 

looking at the poster people seem to be crowding around, she was going to talk about how fun it could be when she first heard victoria speaking up and listened. resisting the urge to roll her eyes at the first statement, she gripped onto her backpack strap tightly and was going to argue, but stayed quiet when she was actually getting a better understanding of where she was coming from. which layla had to agree. there were definitely problems that needed to be talked about, but she felt the town needed some fun all together. “i don’t think you’re insane and i’m being honest about that. i also get that we need to think of things like food and making sure people won’t go crazy, but--... i don’t know, i just feel it’s a good chance for the committee to have their own fun since i’m sure it’s stressful trying to think of what should be done and for everyone else, i think it helps in making people less worry about the future and to think about the present for a moment.“

born from meredith and roberts evans, she grew up happy and joyful at first. she took up ballet and was excited to see her parents in the audience during each performance. however, the happiness didn’t last long because at the age of ten, her dad passed away. it broke her heart for a long time and it broke her mom’s heart longer. every time her mom looked at layla, all she could think about was her husband, so she stayed in her room a lot or ignored the young girl. layla mainly took care of herself. she did her own laundry, cleaned the house, eventually learned how to cook, etc. the brunette went to a quiet home after school every weekday and the more months have passed, the more she became sad she had an estranged relationship with her mom and felt all she could count on were friends and a childhood friend’s family. when she turned fourteen, she got her own job and saved money to earn enough for several months of future rent since she already considered moving out when she turned eighteen.

as soon as high school came up, she became a party animal. she drank almost every night, partied every weekend, probably graffitied the school at some point, stole once in a while. i want to say she might have went to juvie once or did service hrs, but i have to do more research. however, she was at the point of being expelled and finally thought oh fuck. so she cleaned up her act gradually. went to tutors and study groups, asked teachers for extra credit, listened and took notes as much as she can, etc.

now, being eighteen, she has her own apartment and plans to go to college because her dream job is to be a best-selling author. she already has a few stories written, but not completed.

now that parents and almost everyone in town, she doesn’t care as much as she should? yes, she feels terrible that other people have had important ones gone all of a sudden, but because she’s already used to not having a real parent take care of her, she doesn’t care. in a way, she has mixed feelings? yes, she wants everything back to the way it was for the sake of others, but she also wants to do her own thing and do things she’s been wanting to, but hasn’t yet.

tl;dr: she’s basically a girl who is loyal to those close to her heart, loves to go have fun and cause trouble, and is into writing.
