Both the papers have multiple choice questions.

WHEN SHOULD WE START THE PREPARATION?
There are many misconceptions that you must start the preparation in your school or college time but one thing to understand here is that the knowledge you gain during those years of graduation is ultimately required to clear the exam so the main focus must be on graduation, that is the most key thing.
The most ideal period to start the preparation is in the final year of graduation as suggested and advised by many IAS and IPS toppers from their experience.
HOW TO START THE PREPARATION?
STRATEGY FOR PREPARATION
Read and understand all your NCERT books
Select optional subject very carefully according to your interest
Syllabus and previous year papers are important
Take up mock test series
Revise again and again
SPECIAL TIPS FOR MAINS PREPARATION:
Focus on answer writing
Increase practice of mock tests
Go through newspapers and current affairs
WHAT ALL IS NOTICED IN INTERVIEW
Your opinion on various ongoing debatable topics
Your decision making power
Your confidence and expressiveness
Personality
You can get the information about books for preparation and updated latest syllabus on UPSC website.
IMPORTANT TIPS
1.) Keep the time period very clear in mind that it requires at least 3 to 4 years for preparation and finally giving the exam even if you clear the exam in the very first attempt.
2.) Secondly the preparation requires dedication and determination with no distractions because the qualification rate is just 0.1% therefore you cannot afford to commit even a single mistake.
3.) Lastly failures will occur but you need to persist, this will test your mental strength. For More help Visit https://latestsarkarinaukri.org
