Just want to say that Christians are not blind sheep who take the Bible at face value without asking questions. Some of us grimace at the things we read and we do ask why hence why some of us write blog posts on these questions, do intense studying of the scriptures to try to understand why, pray about it, take courses to try to get it and go to seminars.  Our brains don’t shut off upon being Christians.  Being a Christian is a journey, not a state. I would say mature Christians are the ones who do ask why and dive deeper into scripture. So every time an atheist thinks they come in with a gotcha, I scoff because I ask that question too dude. But that does not erase the very goodness of the presence of God in my life.
