Mojang Reassures Minecraft Fans about Microsoft Deal
Mojang reassures Minecraft fans about Microsoft deal
The boss of Minecraft-maker Mojang has reassured fans worried about what will take place when Microsoft assumes control.
A $2.5bn (PS1.5bn) deal that will see Microsoft acquire Mojang was announced in mid-September.
Vu Bui, chief operating office of Mojang, stated that there are no plans to change the game or alter the way players can do with it.
Feedback from players would be crucial to improve the game, he added.
"Nothing's really changing," said Mr Bui. " We don't plan on any change and, of course I'm not able discuss the deal and I don't know everything but we're still here, the game's there and business as normal."

Mojang has always aimed to preserve the original impetus that made the game so popular, he explained.
He stated, "Maintaining the original culture is really hard." It's a way of life that values the community and lets them play however they like playing the game.
"It is the goal that it has always been, to continue doing this," he said to the BBC during an interview with the BBC interview at London's Olympia exhibition center in which he was delivering an address as the keynote speaker at the Brand Licensing Europe trade fair.
Mr. Bui acknowledged that the deal was "still in the process of being finalized" but said that the intention of Mojang was to keep working closely with its huge community of players.
Many block-building enthusiasts have expressed their concern about what could occur in the event that Microsoft takes complete control.
Markus Persson (aka Notch) is the Minecraft creator. He wrote about his reasons for approaching Microsoft. He said that it was too for him to handle and that it was becoming a burden.
"I cannot be accountable for something this big," he wrote soon after the details of the deal were released.
He said, "It's about my sanity. It's not about money." "It's all about my mental health."
Bui said that there will be changes in the future. However, they will still be made with the input, comments and feedback from fans.
The current system, in which Minecraft developers reveal what they are working on before they add it to the game, will continue.
He said, "We don't keep our secrets about our features."
Mojang began to showcase the new games they were working on, even though he didn't know the details.
Mojang would allow players to try out the early versions of a game and assist in the development of it, Mr Bui said. mcnames
Similar methods were employed with Minecraft. Mojang wanted the same method to be used again since it was proven to benefit developers as they worked on a project.
It wasn't about trying to replicate the success of Minecraft to create a new game that proved just as popular. It was more about trust in the overall concept, said Mr Bui.
He stated, "We believe that model." "Regardless of their art form people should be able to put their energies into whatever they believe in, regardless of what the outcome.
He said, "That's a noble endeavor."
Mojang also said that it was a mistake attempt to manage the Minecraft community or determine what can be done within the game.
He stated that it was better to get out of the way.
Mr. Bui stated that people are most imaginative when they are free to express themselves in the way they want. While you should provide them with some guidelines but they'll be able to come up with more innovative ideas than we can.
