The russian occupiers dropped a bomb on the Drama Theater. This tragic place at that time became a refuge for many Mariupol residents seeking protection from the endless bombardment.

The number of victims is still impossible to determine for sure. However, it is estimated that between 300 and 600 innocent civilians died that day.

On this day, May 8th, 80 years ago in 1945... we had victory in Europe. The end of the totalitarian and genocidal Third Reich was realized after 6 years of tears, sweat, and blood. Millions dead, a continent ravished, an entire generation traumatized and 3% of the entire world population would not make it before the end of the war in August.

Today is a day of celebration of the victory against Nazism and Fascism, but it is also a day of remembrance for those that did not live to celebrate with us. We will remember the soldiers on the ground, the people at the home front hiding in shelters, and the people Hitler and his posse worked so hard to exterminate and those that lived to see his plans fail, their descendants that to this day feel the words "never again" harder than most.

If the US were engaged in an attempt to bring peace to Ukraine, it would place more tariffs on Russia, rather than exempt Russia entirely.

In a world with fewer distractions, we would be shocked that the US made its tariff decisions during discussions with the head of the Russian sovereign investment fund.

Russia has rejected the ceasefire and continues a war that was criminal from the beginning. Under Trump, we are only making this easier. We are putting US power on Russia’s side.

And, yes, Ukraine, the country defending itself, the country whose economy has been under literal attack by Russia for three years, was subjected to tariffs.

Just two days after the previous strike, russia hits Kryvyi Rih again. They struck a residential area, next to a playground. In the early evening, when parents and children were outside.

As of now, 14 people are known to have been killed, including 6 children.

Back in 2022, the world was saying "russian war of aggression will not be normalised". Today, in 2025, we are just numbers. Russia killing Ukrainians for the sin of existing has been normalised. Our lives are a boring statistic and our tragedies barely ever make it into the world news. Because this is no longer news.

"The children have just begun to live. We feel sorry for our country, they (russins) are killing us and no one is doing anything."

Locals have been bringing flowers and toys to the site in Kryvyi Rih since morning where children were killed in a russian attack on April 4. Nine children were killed in a russian Iskander missile strike. Six remain in hospitals, most of them in serious condition.
