This is a mash of personal projects and group/team projects that I have done, while most of them are theatre I would definitely love to join more film oriented projects

Made in Dagenham work in progress
Tumblr media
I’ve only just started designing this project but this is definitely going to be one of the most complex sets I’ve ever worked on, especially with having a second layer to the stage as well as a potential trap door. The two main flats can be swapped for different contexts, the industrial Ford factory and then flipped into neutral bricks which can be adapted into any other location with props or banners. At a later date I will be given a team to lead to actually build this set.

1920/30s British Music Hall development project
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a project I’ve been developing for a hypothetical animated series, the concept is that there is a group of 20/30s performers at a struggling music hall in England where a murder happens but they have to cover up in order to not get shut down while also finding out whodunnit! I did a lot of research into the primary location for the characters aka the dressing room/lounge which I did by visiting real dressing rooms that have been around since even before the 20s for authenticity. I also did historical research into historical figures from the time as I wanted to be truthful with my representations, taking inspiration from figures such as Josephine Baker and Ching Ling Foo.

Wonder Boy Prop and Costume design for Bristol Old Vic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I helped out with props and costume department at Bristol Old Vic, it was interesting to see how these departments work when it is the second round of a performance as the designs have already been made but all the props and costumes need to be remade as the previous ones have been worn out.

Snap shots from my short film TEENAGER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I didn’t have many resources to create this film I really wanted to focus on telling the film’s narrative through visual atmosphere so I took extra time to think about costumes, colours, animation and making props to enhance the viewing experience.

Macbeth Set Design project
Tumblr media
This was a group project where we had to design the witches layer from Macbeth. We interpreted it as an almost immersive experience where the witches would live in a semi contemporary world where their layer would ideally be in an abandoned wear house covered in hanging vines and glowing fungi from the ceiling.

Set design for School of Rock
Tumblr media Tumblr media
School of Rock’s set consisted of 4 double sided flats for 3 different main locations: Dewey’s flat, the music hall and the school. I designed the set and lead a group of 7 students to help build it as a team. I took a lot of care by communicating with the director and creating mood boards.

Personal illustration projects
Tumblr media
This illustration was concept artwork for a comic I was developing, this arc of the comic would be based inside of a steampunk-esque mechanical military boarding school so I really wanted to focus on ideas of practicality when designing the costumes.

This is concept work for a video game RPG idea I had about a squid girl who collects lost fish and returns them to the sea or her house.

Set design for One Man, Two Guvnors pier confession scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This set included a lot of historical research as I made the decision to place this scene on the Brighton West Pier to emphasise that this play is set in the 60s and thus the characters can use this pier as it hasn’t burned down yet. I ended up copying the exact same fence design from the pier as well as the fully functional lampposts.
