"why does writing take so long" because 60% of it is coming up with a sentence, realizing that sentence doesn't work the way you want it to, and staring at a wall

My Romance Rec for this month is The Italian Job by Kathryn Freeman. Freeman has a few great stories - I love her sense of humour - but I think this one is my favourite. The two leads - Anna and Jake - are neighbours who don't have a lot in common other than having both fallen on hard times recently. A year away from everything is just what they need, so when Anna sees a job ad for housekeeping a gorgeous Italian castle, a partnership is formed. The catch is that the owners will only accept a married couple as housekeepers... I think you can tell where this is going.
It was really enjoyable getting to know these characters and watching their love grow throughout the book, and Freeman's style of writing ensured that I was never bored. A definite recommendation for any rom-com lover.

Instead of Benedict's woman-of-the-season storyline, I really would have loved to have seen him dealing with the Viscount workload while Anthony was away. I think it would have been a good opportunity for some brotherly bonding as well as shedding some light on what it means to be the "spare". Benedict's art woes from the end of last season would have also played into it beautifully.
Alas that is not we have gotten. All I can hope for is that Tilley's storyline will have significance to Benedict's season (which I am hoping is next). My current theory is that Sophie is Tilley's maid.
