Poppy - a 60's Mod CAS Collab! 🍸🌼

🌷 Cosmopolitan, Shaken, with a Twist.

Ever since I started making CC, I thought it would be fun to make a set of clothes based off one of my sims! And now I can officially thank @ice-creamforbreakfast for helping me indulge in that dream!

I've made a new umbrella for this set! The Bubble Umbrella REQUIRES SEASONS to be functional and you'll need to DOWNLOAD THIS MOD BY ANDREW to get them to show up in your game!

This set is based off one of my favorite legacy sims Poppy. She's a Secret Agent with a mean streak and great taste in clothes. I'm currently in the middle of writing a big spin off for her, so if you like very campy, Charlies Angels styled spy stories, check that out! I promise it's a ton of fun!

Cozy Cabin Collection - Entryway

Hey everyone!

A little later than I would have wanted but here's my latest set I created, called Cozy Cabin. As I said earlier I want to make more sets with this theme and I plan to add some holiday objects for Halloween or even Christmas if I feel I'm enjoying the theme until then! This way we could follow through the seasons with this theme and decorate our cozy cabins to match the current season. I hope you'll join me on this road because I am excited to see the cabin come to life.

This first set is based around the entryway. I wanted to make a built-in system with shelves, cabinets and a little nook to allow sims to sit and (imagine that they) put their shoes on. Then this idea became bigger, I wanted to add a door and windows (which I didn't have time for but I still want to make) and then I started to make walls. Please, remind me next time to do not make this many walls when I haven't got too much time on my hands because I struggled to save all heights and swatches for all of them.

The built-in system has a coat rack backing part where you can snap the metal hooks to so they'll stay together and can be mix and matched. The bigger cabinet functions as a dresser.

You can put together the built-in different ways: without the bench, using the cabinets instead of the backing, building a little reading nook with them. The swatches let you to use this set in different setting as well, I think they'd look good in a farmhouse style home, or a coastal one.

(The boxes on the shelves are mostly from the Dream Home Decorator pack since I didn't have time to make some and I didn't want to show them empty.)

Medieval Name Default Replacement Mod

Version 1.0 current as of September 22nd, 2024

Sul sul, and hail, my fellow medieval gameplay enjoyers! Have you grown tired of scouring the internet for names appropriate for Ultimate Decades Challenge, or the History Challenge, or any other gameplay that includes a medieval time period? Because I sure did, and that's why I got the idea to create this mod for those of us who want to just leave it up to the game to name our sims. And now, I'm so so excited to present it to you now!

If you don't want to read about the mod and just want to skip straight to downloading it, scroll to the very bottom of this post (under the "keep reading")! But if you want to know, I have written up a bit about the mod below.

How does it work?

It's very simple. You download the mod, and put it into your mods folder. Once the mod is in your folder, load up the game. In both CAS, and randomly generated townies, the available names will only be selected from a pool of medieval names.

When in CAS, if you use the die to randomize a name, it will only give you medieval names, like so:

When a townie is randomly generated in town, they will no longer have modern names, like so:

When your sim gives birth to a baby, the random name options will all be appropriately medieval, like so:

Is it compatible only with English?

I believe it is compatible with all game languages because I set the language to "Global," but seeing as my game is in English, it is difficult for me to test. If anyone with their game installed in another language wants to let me know if it works, that would be much appreciated!

Any details on the names you can provide us?

Well, it would be far too long of a list for me to tell you all of the names, but here are the details I can share - (under the cut)

a little over 3500 female names

a little over 7200 male names

a little over 13,400 surnames/bynames

the date range that these names should be appropriate for is between 800 and 1500, because that is the range that I pulled names from

Indian names replaced by medieval German

Islander names replaced by medieval Dutch

Japanese names replaced by medieval French

Moroccan names replaced by medieval Scottish/Irish

Latin names replaced by medieval Spanish/Portuguese

Native American names replaced by medieval Lithuanian, Latvian, Hungarian, Russian, and Romanian (I wanted to add all of these languages separately but ran out of categories)

Southest Asian names replaced by medieval Italian

a little over 1400 pet names (cats, dogs, and horses)

in the future, I intend to add names for the farm animals as well

base game compatible, but it might be a little glitchy if your game isn't up-to-date.

1700s PART 2 - WOMEN

Lace as a luxury was carried over from the 17th century, used as a status simple for the wealthy to flaunt. From the mid-century on it migrated to the neck in the form of delicate chokers, which were a fashionable alternative to traditional jewelled necklaces. As hairstyles became larger hat styles became smaller until they were discarded altogether for a time, followed by extremely large hats that accommodated the curls, plaits and frizzed hair beneath. 1400s PART 1 - WOMEN

Following on from the simple modesty of the 1300s, female hair in the 1400s became a lot more elaborate thanks to the addition of hair pieces, ribbon and other decorations. Braided styles evolved into very detailed and decorative concoctions. Styles also became more flowy and romantic, often with curls framing the face. CC links under the cut.

DAZZLING LIGHT Maxis-Match Eyes 2024 EXPANSION

...for friends, family and foes! Nah, but I'm serious, these eyes are literally for everyone and everything!

So, it's been years, and the Dazzling Light eyes still have a tight grip on me for my personal choice as default replacements, and because I still love them so much, I decided to expand them quite a bit.

The base eyes are available as default replacement, non default, facepaint and heterochromic options. All ages, all genders. Same goes for the new occult eyes.

I've added 45 new colors to the original palette of 18, which results in a total of 63 colors.

Also available are new DIY addons for a color ring detail and sclera changer, see some example swatches here:

The occult eyes are for aliens, vampires, mermaids and werewolves. For the vampire and werewolf swatches I've also made a custom emission map, which makes them glow real nicely in the dark!

Added default replacements for all of the animals & pets! ♡ Dog, cat and horse eyes can be manually changed in CAS.

I've also made replacements for every farm animal, which are available for the Cottage Living and Horse Ranch packs. Included are chickens (chicks, hens & roosters), cows, llamas, foxes, rabbits, wild birds, sheep and goats.

C'mere, you, yeah! You! A new CC set dropped.

Log Cabin is 36 assets large, so it's just between a kit and a stuff pack when it comes to size. Coincidentally it also comes with some "new" objects, like, windows that open and close. When I say functional I really mean it with this one.

Merged [download] only this time! The on-off tuning is shared by several objects and they NEED to stay together.

A wee bit early but hey, a b-day gift to myself. One more year almost over. Yippee.

It comes in 10 wood tones, one version with beech bark that matches the swatch. The other is birch bark. Animal crossing players may see the resemblance to the log series from ACNH.

Everything in these previews is included in the set, or basegame. You can absolutely re-create these rooms if you'd want to. The set focuses on the woodworking hobby and aims to give your lumberjack or lumberjane a fitting home.
