love that camera guy was instructed to film mike's reaction every time harvey says some "i'm better and smarter than you" shit so we get to see mike smiling and twirling his hair and kicking his feet

you know, i really get why marvey has so many dom/sub fics, i think they're the most dom/sub coded ship i know. yes, they already have boss/employee dynamic but they're making it even worse. harvey pays for mike and goes around parading mike and his really big brain and he looks so proud of him when mike impresses someone or when he wins, he even fucking called him "good boy" (in a second episode, mind you), mike also likes to be a brat, and don't get me started on their insane loyalty game
#HARVEY USES HIS DOM VOICE ON MIKE#HE ALSO DOES LIL HAND GESTURES TELLING MIKE WHEN TO SIT OR COME OR GO#IT’S……. MY GOD

Q: Was Carver intended to be LGBTQ? I remember there were a couple jokes about him secretly liking to cross dress, could Carver be a trans girl or maybe a future drag queen?
A: Carver was definitely the probably LGBTQ character. We were never overt about it and I think, you know, Carver was 12... He didn't really know. He was sort of just figuring stuff out, but I always assumed that he would grow to be gay or bi. And we did do one or two cross dressing jokes, but I always felt like those were more about... he was super into fashion. He was exploring different looks. I didn't think he was cross dressing. I think he was just dressing up. That said, he would be an amazing drag queen. Also, you couldn't overtly say anything. I feel like almost every cartoon at that time had a character who everyone on the show knew was gay. Like, that was just kind of a thing, because you couldn't have gay characters. But there were gay people working on the shows, you know? It was the world then just as it is now. There are gay people around. So it seemed you would sort of have it in your head that this is the character who was gay, but you'd never really say anything about it. [ Doug Langdale, The Weekenders creator | Source ]

making a home
bucktommy | rated t | 1/8 chapter one: unpacking see blueprints and renderings of buck's (finished) house on sims here
Buck’s new house sits tight between two other craftsman bungalows. It’s clear just by looking at them that the three houses were once identical. Same shape, same entrance off the same side porch, same roofline. The house to the right of Buck’s extended their porch to wrap around the front, and the house to the left replaced their windows with those new modern black framed ones, but these small changes do very little to disguise the fact that they have the same bones.
Buck calls them triplets. It makes him smile to think that his house has family close by. It makes him happy that, while the other houses on this block may have been demolished and replaced with newer builds, these three houses still have each other. They’ve grown and changed, but they still belong together. He doesn’t let himself think about exactly why that makes him so happy. He doesn’t think he’d like the answer.
He moves in on a Saturday. It’s a small house, but that’s okay. With each successive move Buck had gotten rid of more and more belongings. He doesn’t have much left at this point.
Eddie helps him move boxes and furniture from storage to his truck and from his truck into his new house. With a lunch break, the entire process only takes three hours. It’s all a bit anticlimactic. Eddie offers to help him unpack, since they have so much time, but the idea settles too heavy in Buck’s stomach. Moving boxes is one thing. Moving in is something else entirely.
This is the first place that Buck has ever lived in that he picked out for himself. He’s feeling a little precious about that. He doesn’t want someone else to decide which drawer his utensils should be in. He’s had enough of other people telling him where to put things.

when i first heard about the male loneliness epidemic i was like oh yeah close camaraderie and bonding between men is often discouraged in favor of competition or, if not discouraged, at least filtered through a lens of individualism that precludes deep connections. and then i learned what people meant by it (men arent getting laid) to which i say skill issue
