nathan knew the they had been best friends since, well, forever. so the last thing he wanted to do was to cause any unwanted or unneeded tension between them. he knew better than to go ahead and do something like that. he'd like to think he was good at keeping a secret or two if he needed to. ❝ sorry, sorry. yeah. i'm alone. there's no one here, why? ❞ he then gave brooke a look when she stated that they needed to talk. it was quite obvious he knew what it would've been about. he then let the door shut once brooke walked into his place and he listened. ❝ okay. done and done. it won't be repeated. who would i even begin to tell that to? i didn't plan on even saying a word anyway. there's no way i would tell peyton. our fights were enough when we were together. i don't think i need to witness that happening again now even when we're not. ❞ their secret was safe with him. it wouldn't get out. no one would be hearing it from him. nathan never really thought about brooke much until what happened between them. now that he thinks about it . . . brooke is pretty hard to forget about. there's no denying it.
brooke didn't even want to imagine what peyton was going to think. especially since the two were always fighting lately. whether it be about peyton's feelings for lucas or just her random mood swings. brooke couldn't handle another fight and that was why she was going to make sure nathan kept his mouth shut. not that it would matter anyway because they were broken up. and neither time were lucas and brooke broken up when peyton hooked up with him. and it's not like nathan and brooke even liked each other. they were both really drunk one night and it happened. finally he decided to open the door and it felt forever since brooke had been knocking. she was in no mood to deal with his jokes right now especially since they weren't even funny. ❝ nathan, that isn't funny. we need to talk. you're alone, right? ❞ brooke quickly made her way inside without waiting for nathan to invite her in. she turned around to look at him, waiting for him to close the door. ❝ you know that thing that happened between the two of us, it didn't. you can't repeat it. and you can't tell peyton. especially not peyton because she would freak out and i don't want to deal with another pmsing episode. ❞ if she was being honest, she was happy that it had happened. she always liked nathan but never thought anything of it because he was either with peyton or with other random cheerleaders.

❛❛ oh, i'm sorry. i didn't even hear you come in. i was just getting somethings ready for this new book that i'm writing. ❜❜ quinn paused when she realized she was sharing too much with a stranger she hadn't met until just this very moment. there was just so much going on in her head. plus the fact that she was trying to get herself back into the much needed routine of working again. ❛❛ if you don't want to wait, then i can always get my boss out here to help you. ❜❜

blair felt as though nate had entirely caught her off guard with this. there was no doubt in her mind that she still had feelings for him. how could she not? on the other hand he left her to go and deal with his family things and then there was the whole thing with serena too. how could she know that he meant it this time? would it be any different than their past? those were the thoughts going through blair's mind right about now. she could hope that he meant what he was saying; that he truly wanted to be with her and wouldn't just up and leave her alone again. ❛❛ seems urgent then for you to make your way here ... i suppose i'll hear you out. make it quick, nate. ❜❜ the brunette wasn't quite sure that she could deal with the hurt he caused her. not yet. not ever again. ❛❛ you ....❜❜ she paused and was full of questions. maybe she was really bad at putting on a front in front of him. she wouldn't be the queen bee for nothing, after all. blair really wanted to understand what it took to get him to finally realize how he felt. was it time that he needed or what? she wanted to kick him out. to tell him to get lost and just to forget whatever he had to tell her because she didn't want to hear it. but, she didn't do that. at one point in time blair was willing to do anything for him and then he was gone. and it stung. soon enough she muttered the only question she wanted a true and real answer to. ❛❛ you realized that you love me now? ❜❜ blair stared down at their hands before her gaze met nate's once more when she heard him say that he loved her ; she was stunned. confused. conflicted. so many emotions running through her all at one time. blair loved him. there was a soft spot in her heart for him still even if she pretended like it wasn't there to mask her hurt. even with that, she didn't want to rule it out entirely. ❛❛ then, i need to know. before i consider giving us another chance. if we even have one. how would i know this would be the real deal? ❜❜
nate had hurt blair in more ways than one and now he wanted to make it up to her. he had left her on her own birthday which was a tough pill to swallow. but he didn't know where his head was at then. and he didn't want a relationship with someone based on what his family wanted for him and that was probably why he had left her to begin with. but now he realized that he truly did love blair. that was probably why he couldn't be with serena even after telling blair the truth about them. he had every opportunity to leave. he didn't have to stay with blair but it was more than that. he realized that he did love her. that he was in love with her after all that time. the question was now - would she take him back and believe him? after dorota informed him that he could go upstairs, he felt nervous. more nervous than he had ever been in his life. she probably would kick him out before he even got the chance to tell her what was on his mind. he saw her for the first time since their break up and a smile appeared on the corner of his lips. he knew blair better than anyone else and he knew when she was putting up a front and when she wanted to get rid of someone. in this case, it had been him because he knew she couldn't be busy. ❝ i'm sorry for bothering you, blair. but what i have to tell you couldn't wait. i couldn't wait. ❞ he sat at the edge of the bed, reaching out for her hand. ❝ i made a mistake, blair. when i broke up with you, i made a mistake. i was dealing with my family and it had nothing to do with you. i wanted to finish dealing with that before i gave us a proper chance. a chance that you deserve and through all of that, i realized that i love you. and i always will. do you think you could give me another chance? ❞

kelly knew that what the two did to brenda was wrong. she hated knowing that brenda would be hurt. at the same time she couldn't help her feelings for dylan. that didn't mean that it made it right. in anyway. it wasn't right. it wasn't something you do to a friend. kelly should've known better. dylan should also have known better. since the chance presented itself for the two to possibly work through their friendship she wanted to do her best to make sure that they tried. if nothing else, that was all that mattered most. that maybe their friendship could get back to some kind of normalcy in someway; especially if it wasn't entirely the same again. the blonde hated that she let a boy come between them. no matter what her feelings were for dylan she never should have let them overpower her friendship with brenda. she actually valued her friendship since the beginning. then she went and ruined it all so quickly. it's been one of her biggest regrets since it had happened. ❛❛ oh no, it hasn't been too long. i just got here like not even five minutes before you did. i'm glad you came, though. how is everything? ❜❜ it felt weird to be asking these questions. what felt even weirder now was the fact that the two haven't talked much or seen eachother since the whole dylan thing went down.
ever since brenda found out what kelly and dylan did to her, she wasn't the same person anymore. it took her months to get over the hurt and despair and it still wasn't completely gone. her feelings for dylan weren't completely gone and they probaly would never be. he was the true love of brenda's life and she would always feel that way. but this wasn't about dylan. this was about the friendship that brenda and kelly were trying to fix. would they ever be the best friends that they used to be? the ones that would talk on the phone for hours, go shopping together and even hang out on the weekends at each other houses. brenda honestly didn't know but she was going to try. kelly had apologized for what she had done and neither one of them were with dylan now. there could have been a chance where the two could bring back the friendship that they used to have. brenda walked in the peach pit and smiled when she heard her friend call her and she quickly walked over to the table. ❝ hey kel! have you been waiting here long? ❞ she sat down in the booth across from where her friend was sitting.

he had a good point there. she was sure that he would've been able to give a good opinion. but then again? when did nathan scott become an expert on fashion? brooke took this seriously as it was about to be her lifelong business that she would have to maintain here. especially something that she was quite passionate about. as he was when it came to basketball. ❛❛ i'm not denying that your company is great. you are one of my good friends, after all. so it looks like you're stuck with me now. ❜❜ brooke shrugged when nathan said that he didn't know when haley would be returning. she then plopped onto the couch and laughed a little at his comment. ❛❛ water would be perfect, actually. . . just trying to figure out what i should add next or keep out. who knew that running a business or trying to get one off the ground would be this hard. so, i don't think that having an outside opinion would be so bad, after all. ❜❜
they were friends, good friends even. and brooke was one of the few people that could relate to some of the things he had gone through. “my company is great,” he replied, grabbing a bottle of water, looking over at brooke. “but no, i’m not sure on when she’s gonna be back,” he replied, taking a drink of the water. “you can wait, and see that i’m great company,” he said, “i can offer you some water.” a laugh left his lips, “you do know you can ask me, i might not be the best at fashion but i can tell you if something looks good or not. at least i think i can.”

haley couldn't help but be insanely proud of nathan whenever he was playing a game. it was extremely important to her to try and be as supportive of him and his own dreams as much as she could. she could see how much he loved the game and how good he was at it. and so could everyone else. it's hard to not be able to see it when it comes to the star player of the ravens team. in her eyes he could never do any wrong. whether he won or he lost the plus side to all of that was the fact that he would at least have haley at his side whenever he needed her. ❛❛ now you can absolutely consider that someone quite impressed. how could she not be? i was rooting for number 23 as it is, you know. ❜❜
all of nathan's hardwork was finally starting to pay off now and it was nice to see that happening. he was good at what he did and he always gave it his all. no matter what. and especially under all of the pressure he was put under to make sure he succeeded. and to her? he was able to do just that. ❛❛ oh, i figured you'd be hungry afterwards! ❜❜ haley responded knowingly. ❛❛ yeah, you've got a good point. you don't need any extra energy. but hmm.. what about pizza? burgers? ❜❜ she suggested. ❛❛ karen's cafe is probably still open. we can try to swing by there if you want? ❜❜ she figured going there may have been slightly more ideal than going further out to try and find an open restaurant at this time of the day.
there was something about playing when he knew that haley was watching. he couldn’t put his finger on what it was, he wasn’t just showing off, he was actually playing a good game. it had been a long time coming, and he knew that people counted on him, and with haley’s support it was a lot easier to live up to those expectations, it wasn’t like having dan breathing down his neck, telling him every single thing he did wrong. “i had someone i needed to impress,” he replied with a smile.
the court was always home, a place he knew what he was supposed to do, and when he could play, and have fun, it was easy to see how good of a player he was. he smiled at her. “you should know by now that I’m always hungry after a game or practice,” he replied, “I think we should skip the coffee I don’t need that kind of extra energy right now, but something to eat. any suggestions?”

there was a lot that happened between the two. there was no denying the fact that their relationship was going down a rocky path right now. but there was one thing that nathan did know. in spite of everything that happened and ended up transpiring; he truly did love her. even if he was upset or angry with her in that specific moment that didn't mean that there wasn't apart of him that still deeply loved her. they have been through stuff before and it genuinely made him hesitate again when it had came to his feelings. he knew that if they really tried that their marriage still stood a chance. they didn't go through everything they had up to this point for no reason, right? there had to be something that was worth fighting for here. he wanted to believe in that. he had to. always and forever couldn't just mean nothing all of a sudden. could it? he heard footsteps approaching the gym while he was finishing practice and assumed that it was probably one of his teammates. nathan then picked up his gym bag to exit and head home for the evening. he needed to think and get some much needed rest for the next day after all of the practice he was made to do today. it came as a surprise to him when it wasn't actually one of his teammates and it was haley who was now in front of him. ❛❛ haley. ❜❜ he spoke in a soft tone of voice. he wasn't actually sure how he should react or what should've been said first.

it felt like a nightmare that haley couldn't wake up from no matter what she did. she was back in tree hill but she felt like she was miles away from home. talking to nathan the night before, before he left for high flyers, she had told him how she felt. hoping that somehow she would be able to stop him but she couldn't. there wasn't a day where my heart wasn't with you in tree hill. there was never a moment where i loved singing or performing more than i loved you. haley couldn't blame nathan for taking off and going after his dream especially since she had taken off with chris and went on tour for months leaving him alone and possibly almost getting himself killed because of her. could she really be selfish now? i'm leaving in the morning and unlike you, i'm taking my heart with me. those words had cut her like a knife. she didn't blame him for being mad at her. but did his words really have to hurt her this much? after a few months that passed, haley was living in the apartment with brooke, their old apartment. but she didn't know nathan was back not until lucas mentioned it on his way over to seeing brooke. she knew he was probably still mad and didn't want to see her. but they needed to fix their marriage. at least she needed to know where they stood. she made her way over to the school gym and hoped that he at least would talk to her.

❛❛ i know that you can do it on your own. you've made that clear, conrad. ❜❜ belly knew that he wanted to handle it all on his own. to be the older brother in all of this. to take care of everything the way susannah would've wanted. what conrad didn't understand was that he didn't have to do this on his own. he didn't have to face it alone either. to have to grief the loss of his own mother alone. they were all willing to help. steven, jeremiah, even taylor. she knew that the second she called her she'd be down here in a heartbeat to help. ❛❛ i'm sorry that's how you feel. i just don't think that jere should be excluded from this. i'm sure he just wants to be there for you too. lend a helping hand where he can, if you'd let him. if you'd let me. ❜❜ belly knew that was wishful thinking. when conrad had his mind set on something, he just went and did it on his own. he'd never ask for help when it came to certain things. especially this. sure, maybe she should've known better. but she cared. about him, about this house. maybe a little too much at that.
he was the oldest. and she was sure that he felt a lot of responsibility from everyone. the pressure he felt to handle this the way he was expected to. what he didn't get was that no one expected him to have all the answers. not at a time like this. this house was going to be saved. she wasn't sure how they'd make it a reality. belly just believed and needed to be optimistic enough that they'd all find a plan and see it through for susannah. for the boys. for the beach house. for the irreplaceable memories that were once made here. the ones she'd be carrying with her in her heart for a lifetime. ❛❛ i already came all this way and don't have plans on going anywhere right now until we know what's going on with this place. so , yes. that does mean i'm staying. ❜❜ she'd already made a few calls to a select number of people, but belly wasn't going to mention that to him just yet.
" i can handle things on my own . " conrad makes no movements , body still as he stares over at his ex - girlfriend from his spot . his expression could easily read as cold but he was heartbroken through and through . even seeing her right now was killing him . what was he supposed to do ? tell her that so she'll just up and leave ? no , he'd continue to suffer through it in silence . " everybody would have been much better off if you and jere just stayed where you were . i was handling this . "
jeremiah would call him out on his martyr complex and maybe he'd be right . but isn't that what everyone made him ? for so long he'd been told by susannah and adam — laurel , that he was the oldest and was to take care of everyone else . this was what was expected of him , wasn't it ? the weight of the world resting heavy on his shoulders with no room to lift it off and relax . he was the one who had to fix this for everyone and he had to do it on his own . he had to save the last piece of his mom that he and jeremiah had left . he had to make her proud . " i take it that means you're staying ? "

their relationship may not have been the one that lasted for long. but she did care about nate for the duration of the time that they were together. even if he had thought she didn't. or if she made it difficult for the two to be able to be together. blair didn't even understand herself how she was so forgiving towards him in the past when she probably should've just ran and cut him loose back then. would it even be worth giving him a shot now? after it all? he left her for his own reasons to begin with. blair waldorf was not the type of girl to sit around and wait for a boy to decide if and when he wanted her. or if they even LOVED her, for that matter. they either treated her well or they were gone. when it came to nate, it was surely different. it was more than too late. wasn't it? then again ... as she gave it more thought ... would she be throwing away a good thing? were they meant to be this time? could it truly work out for real?
the brunette was entirely unsure but maybe it was actually worth a shot. it must be the nate archibald effect. she was willing to give one more chance , if anything. if this was the last one, then that meant no more would come after this. dorota had informed her of a guest and blair looked up from her magazine she was reading and told her to let them on up. unknowingly, to her, that someone was about to be nate. ❛❛ i'll have you know that i'm very busy. so, whatever it is ... let's just get it over with now. ❜❜

ever since he could remember, nate's family had been controlling him. his every move. especially where it came to relationships and his relationship with blair. they had been together since they were kids and he had come to realize that it had been his parents who had wanted him with blair. so naturally he broke up with her because it didn't see it right that he should stay with her only because of his family. and that was true. but the minute blair stopped showing interest in him and in their relationship, he seemed to be having it for her. he felt like such a jerk for breaking up with her and realized now that he did love her but it was his family's business deals that crowded his judgment. he thought it was time to go to blair's and let her know how he truly felt. he just hoped it wasn't too late that he was confessing his true feelings for the only girl he's ever had them for.

serena turned her head around quickly when she heard someone call out her name. when she looked back, she then noticed that it had been nate. nate archibald who was calling out to her. it was entirely unexpected. she was just planning on going home for the evening and was thinking nothing of it. definitely wasn't planning on running into him of all people right this minute. the last thing that should've happened between the two of them was any kind of a fling at all while he was still with blair. that was his girlfriend and she was her best friend. the blonde didn't want to ruin it right now. it was the way things were just supposed to be. ❛❛ oh, nate ... hi. i didn't even know you were here. ❜❜ serena responded quickly. almost as if more words were caught in her throat at the moment and she was slightly nervous about it.

he couldn't believe it. after all that time, serena was back. the love of his life was back. what was he supposed to say now? how would he act around blair? did she have any clue? all he knew was that blair could never find out the truth about the way nate lost his virginity. but now all he wanted was to talk to serena. find out if maybe after all the time that had passed that she might have come back for him. maybe it was wishful thinking on his part but at least it was worth a true. leaving the building, he spotted serena outside. this was his chance. he felt like his heart was about to explode and here was the reason why. ❝ serena. ❞ was all nate archibald was able to say and the rest would now be up to her the beautiful blonde standing right infront of him.
