Homework Question 2
On page 129 it says that blogs are ‘easy and inexpensive’ to create and in the following paragraph it says they are ‘difficult and expensive’ to maintain. Therefore, the question I have about the homework is: When they say its ‘expensive’ to maintain do they mean it in a figurative way?

Homework Question 1
One thing I learned from the textbook reading was the qualities that distinguish the web and make it more unique than traditional media. These include: Immediacy, it’s easier and less time consuming to distribute news on the web. Secondly, the flexibility of the web: the variety of formats that the it offers us to disseminate news (multimedia).Thirdly, permanence which means everything we publish is stored automatically and permanently on the web. Furthermore, the unlimited capacity it offers writers which makes us not limited by time or space; unlike in traditional media were journalists have a deadline and specific amount of area to cover. The web is also distinctive due to its interactivity, there is direct communication with mediators and the consumers have control over what news they want, which makes it easier to track their choices and offer them more of what they want. Finally, the sixth unique aspect about the web is its mobility: the ability it has to provide us with information anywhere at anytime.

The reason i chose to reblog this post is because to become a celebrity and to be accepted as one, you need to have self confidence. To be accepted you need to accept yourself first. That’s why i think the concept of needing to believe in yourself comes before making people believe in you and what you can do.
Post 1
“I’ve always been famous, it’s just no one knew it yet.” ― Lady Gaga
I like this quote because it shows that anyone can be famous if they believe in themselves first, before making others believe in them. This quote is a self-confidence booster.

Post 4: Connection to topic
The reason i chose this topic is because celebrities are a big part of our world today, due to social medial, we feel a connection to their lives because of their snapchats, instagrams, twitter etc. The reason I feel connected to this topic is because i like to consider myself as both an athlete and a musician. Blogging about celebrities means that I don’t have to confine myself to a specific interest. Instead, i get to explore news from various areas and people that i am interested in, for example: athletes, singers etc.

Video
youtube
In this video we can see Justin Bieber playing the guitar, bustling, on the streets of Canada when he was a young boy. This is relevant to my topic because it’s important to acknowledge the power of social media and the role it plays in jump-starting celebrity careers. If it wasn’t for this video Justin would not have been discovered by usher and turned into the so-called ‘prince of pop’ he is known as today.

Photo

The reason i chose this photo is because it’s iconic. It represents one of the King of pop’s famous moves. This illustrates his sense of style and legacy of not only having a magnificent voice but also being able to bust smooth moves.

Quote
Music isn't for the eyes it's for the ears
Adele
This quote is inspirational because it says something about the world of celebrities that we currently live in, in which if you are to be a musician you have to look the part. However, when you make music it is for people to enjoy listening to, not to enjoy looking at.

Adele Says it's normal to wish you'd never had kids
When asked about her feelings towards her son Angelo, Adele said “I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life.” The articles written about her statement admire her truth. But being a big celebrity icon like Adele, it’s alarming to make such a bold statement because there are many people who look up to her. Saying such words might actually affect people’s opinions on having children. Although, one can not deny her audacious honesty.

Kelly Clarkson Wears Sia Wig For Halloween
Kelly Clarkson goes as Sia for Halloween and surprises her fans with a cover of Sia’s most beloved songs “Chandelier.” She posts on facebook her capella cover, with her voice almost as perfect as Sia’s. She describes the feeling of being under ‘The wig’ as “kinda awesome ‘cause you’re in your own little world when you’re performing.” That explains where Sia’s breathtaking voice comes from. Kelly Clarkson claims that Sia is one of her “favorites,” it’s refreshing watching celebrities support each other rather than seeing the usual dramatic headlines describing celebrity feuds.

The Weeknd cuts off his trade mark dreadlocks
"It didn't feel right anymore, because it ended up becoming a trademark," the Weeknd claims. When he told people he was cutting his dreadlocks everyone objected saying “ No, don't do it! That's your whole thing, that's you. Which only motivated him to get a new look. He didn’t want to be simply known by his distinguished hairstyle, which is understandable. Change is always good, especially when you’re about to drop your biggest album yet! The north remembers, long live the Weeknd’s dreadlocks!

Prince Michael Jackson devising own path, 7 years after dads death
It’s exciting to finally see the Jackson’s name back in the headlines on a positive note. Prince Michael Jackson launched his own production company, but he doesn’t want to reach his father’s level of fame. It’s interesting watching Michael Jackson's son becoming his own icon and making a name for himself in a different way than his father. But you can’t dis-acknowledge that he’s the son of the most loved and talented musician of all time. Therefore, no matter how much he aspires not to reach the same level of fame as Michael Jackson he will, somehow, forever be living in his shadows.
