We begin with this graceful performance piece which was sent to us by Ms. Coco LaFousFous. Here, Ms. Coco has recorded a video of herself performing in the woods with a metronome playing in the background. Shot with good edits, we added layers of various instruments into the video, expressing the harmony of nature and personal struggles.

Our next piece absolutely astonished us! We weren’t aware that a conch had the potential to make such an impactful music piece but after having watched a few videos of ours, Ms. Sudakshina Basu had a word with us and decided to give #LayersofLockdown a try. She sent us a recording where she was playing a conch and when we mixed and matched a few layers of music— the piece that was discovered was truly uncommon.

And our most spectacular piece was delivered to us by Mr. Varun Soni who made amazing beats just by using plastic bottles! While he had sent several entries, we chose the merriest one and incorporated some music of ours to make a melodious mix.
Come, explore your musical abilities with us and unveil the artist within you. Discover the most unique music education workshops where you can learn to experiment with notes,  and get a peek into styles like western classical, blues, and much more!

You Won’t Believe That Music Can be Made Like This | Layers of Music
The pandemic forced our social endeavors to come to a screeching halt and the quarantine orders left many people reaching for music to cope. At Layers of Music, we untapped the power of music to bring people together. And Layers of Lockdown was born.
Tumblr media
Picture: Mr. Debu Mishra introducing our program through a paradigm of percussion.
We encouraged participants around the globe to pick any instrument of their choice–or use peculiar objects such as cutlery or even hands and feet to make music. People started sharing their pieces with us, using hashtags such as #LayersofLockdown and #layersofmusic.

One of our initial responses came from Mr. Joydeep Gupta, a traveller, photographer and music enthusiast. He sent a splendid segment of drumming to us all the way from Singapore where he was residing at that moment. We incorporated a bit of our music and created a tranquil concord.
Tumblr media
From Grenada, Spain came an incredible segment of the participants performing flamenco. We merged the harmony of claps and taps with music and made it into an enthralling piece.
We hope to see more people participating in our program and sharing their music with us. We wish to expand our initiative so that we can overcome this crisis together. Stay tuned to our blog for more updates and follow us on our social media channels to connect with us.
