This is Grandidierite's and Jeremejevite's fusion; iolite.

It took a while to figure out the fusion of these two, and iolite seemed perfect for them.

When I did some research about the gem I found this website called Firemountaingems.com. On there it had a lot of different gem info for any kind you could look for but then I found iolite.

On the webpage for iolite if you read through for a little while you find it says, "Iolite has been used by shamans to enhance their ability to have clear visions. Some legends even say iolite strengthens eyesight. Other metaphysical beliefs hold that iolite promotes pure thoughts, intuition and self-acceptance." When I read this I instantly thought of my two gems and that this is a reflection of how they would be together. See again Jeremejevite is blind. Not only that but since she was made for a diamond in grief, she has a more enhanced perception of how to handle anyone's emotions. (and of course the things around her) Grandidierite had her moment of reflection to say she didn't want to shatter gems any longer and fled with the gem she had now cared for at that moment.

So I see the both of them together not only having those pure thoughts and self-acceptance of what they've become. But, I also see their fusion as a way that Jeremejevite can see the world around her for the first time.

I drew these gems the other day since I've been getting into Steven Universe again. It took at least a day or two to design them and then a few days after I thought about what exactly their gems were maybe for.

I thought for Granididierite that since she's a garnet than she does have that kind of authoritative personality like other garnets do. The only difference that I made was that she's more of an assassin that was supposed to take out off-colour or defective gems in Blue Diamonds' court when commanded. For Jeremejevite she was supposed also supposed to be in Blue's court, to help Blue grieve when it can to the loss of Pink Diamond, however, she not only came out colourless but she came out with extra limbs and turned out to be blind.

So what Grandidierite was supposed to shatter Jeremejevite, but when the moment came and she had her where she wanted her. She stopped. She didn't want to shatter them. She was supposed to and it's not like she hadn't done it before but it felt different for some reason. So instead of shattering Jeremejevite, she fled Homeworld with her and ended up on Earth and had been in hiding since.

Now they do also have a fusion since that's how I chose how they would live together, like Ruby and Sapphire. So I'll probably pose that next.
