It was near impossible to get through the crowded streets without cutting someone elses path or squeezing past a bunch of people. And yet Ly managed to scuttle her way through without even touching the hem of a stranger’s coat. Not only did her petite size help her in that regard, but her strings guided her without fail through the masses. So well, she could as well walk blindly and still find her way without bumping into anybody.

That’s why she was certain that his man struck her on purpose.

She stumbled back a bit, her hand holding her aching shoulder while clinging to her cloak at the same time. From underneath her hood she looked at the man. Her face remained calm, the same relaxed smile on her face, but her eyes told a whole other story: ‘not this one again’.

“My apologies, sir. It seems like I happened to be in your way as you bashfully rushed into me. I hope my slim physique did not cause any bruises on your far bigger body.”

Her voice was sickeningly sweet, but her words beamed with passive aggression.
