âOh yeah no, the plan is definitely foolproof. Iâm shipping Alice to France, where sheâs going to be safer than being here.â Frank stood by the wall, in Claraâs home on a weekend, which wasnât unusual, but their topic of conversation sure was. âI am worried for her, for Merlinâs sake. Itâs getting worse out there, with the crowds and the attacks. And I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to her.â

jstlongbottomâ:
Alice heard Frankâs words and smiled at the banality of them, even in the face of war - they were finding reasons to be happy, grounded in safety and love and warmth. She flicked her wrist and watched the pots and pans right themselves, the apron she had just taken off folding itself haphazardly into the nearest drawer and shifted to slide her wand back up her sleeve. She laughed at Frankâs rhetorical question, shaking her head although he couldnât see her. âTheyâre always off on an adventure - you know Apolline, she canât sit still. It does help that she has the money for it.â She called as the temperamental tap switched off and she dried her hands, almost launching herself upon Frank and the stack of letters and postcards he held in his hands when he first stepped foot in the kitchen. âGimme, gimme, gimme,â She practically begged with a grin, almost snatching them from his hands before she pressed a rushed kiss to his cheek. Her lips fell open as she gazed down at the picture of Apolline with her husband, baby bump on full show as Apolline waved at her, half cooing as she grins. âGod, sheâs getting so big! I bet she canât wait until theyâre born and stop kicking her in the ribs,â Alice laughed as she flicked over the photo to read the caption on the back. âOh, itâs a girl! A mini Apolline, imagine.â Her head tilted back as she giggled, nodding as she glanced over the letter, her voice soft as she padded away from Frankâs grip and put the postcard up on the fridge. âOh, youâve been thinking, hmm?â Her grin was teasing as she crooked a finger at him, motioning in a âcome hitherâ gesture. âWhatâll we be having for dinner at your motherâs place?â
There was a reason Frank loved coming home. Even after the end of a long and arduous day at work, which was often bleak and saddening, coming home to warmth and love like this made everything in the end seem worth it. He loved his job, because he thought he was making a change there, but over time the passion had dulled, and it had somehow become a job. Whatever he might have thought of it though, it paid well and it made him proud.
"Yeah, yeah, they're always running off to new places, aren't they? I can see some of Francis's influence in that." He did smile though; the Delacours had been nothing but nice, and a part of Frank would credit them for giving him the final push into asking Alice to be his girlfriend that fateful year. It was nice to see their friendship last the test of time, and hopefully the war as well. "Is that your way of saying you want to go on a vacation, love? Because I could see if we could score some tickets to the Quidditch League matches next month..." But before he could finish that statement, the letters were gone from his hand and in came that little peck as his whirlwind of a wife started reading the letters out loud. "A girl?! Congratulations to them! Did they give an expected birth date? We should go visit them." He had to chuckle at the thought of a baby Apolline, but that got him thinking about the topic that had been in his mind for the longest time. A family of their own.
He looked at his wife, tilting his head. "You say it like I don't do a lot of thinking around here, hmm?" His tone was playful, however. At his wife's command, he came closer, placing his hands on her waist and leaning forward to give her a kiss. "Well, mum sent a Howler to the office saying that we're having pie for dinner, and that Alice's desserts are out of this world, so some of that in pie form would be great. She's apparently inviting the Potters over for dinner too. As in James's mother and father..." His smile started to disappear. "So, in a way, we'd be dispelling the mood for a bit. What do you think?"

âHoney, Iâm home!â Frank was walking in through the door of their home, mail in hand. It was stupid thing to announce, but it felt so good that he kept doing it anyway. Hard to believe that he was married to the woman of his dreams, and even harder to believe that she was real and here with him. âSo I see the Delacours have sent us postcards. Do they ever stay at home? Hereâs a letter for you from Apolline, and will you look at that, more postcards!â He thumbed through the papers and pictures as he talked, and one of the pictures made Frank feel something; it was Apolline and her husband, a baby bump present in frame as the couple stood smiling and laughing. Family. Something he wanted for himself, but in these times? Frank couldnât risk it, and since Alice never said anything about children, he didnât bring the topic up himself. âOkay, so hereâs what I was thinking; we could go over to my motherâs place for dinner tonight.âÂ

Name: Franklin Thomas Longbottom II
Age: 27
Former House: Hufflepuff
Affiliation: Order Of The Phoenix member Neutral
Profession: Auror
So Franklin, or Frank as he likes to be called, wasnât even the first person to be called Frank in this family. That belonged to his dad, who he had never met before. His mother assures him that Frank the first loved his son very much.Â
Frank later learned that his father died in the line of duty, as an Auror for the Ministry. He doesnât remember being at the funeral, but a lot of people did talk about his fatherâs bravery and shine. He took those to heart, obviously.Â
So for the longest time, itâs always been Frank and Augusta. Turns out, Frank turned out to be a great kid; did his homework, ate his peas and didnât give anyone any difficulties. He was said to be the noble kind, always standing up for the underdogs getting bullied in the playground, and getting into fights that he would come out of worse for wear. But it was a fight for the greater good.Â
Then comes along Hogwarts, and to his disappointment, he doesnât make it to Gryffindor. But it doesnât matter because Hufflepuff was his motherâs Alma Mater, and he wanted to make this work. Turns out, he made himself right at home with these other kids.Â
Also, to no oneâs surprise, heâs really good at being a big brother to the kids. And life goes on, he becomes Prefect and eventually Head Boy and things are great.Â
But thereâs a little tiff between him and his mother, because after graduation, Frank said that he wanted to become an Auror like his father before him. But not as a legacy hire, but as someone who can make an actual difference. His mother wasnât ready to lose her son, but Frank put his foot down.Â
He finished his training, and finally proposed to his Hogwarts sweetheart, Alice. Theyâve been happily married since, and Frank promises to start a family with her soon as the looming war is over.Â
He keeps his affiliation with the Order a secret to protect his mother, and his family. Itâs a dangerous line to cross, especially in his profession. But he fights the good fight, and heâll do whatever it takes to protect the people he cares for.
