━━━ LAUREN COHAN. 33. DEMIGIRL. SHE/THEY. ↷ LARA MILLER has been living in san francisco as a TATTOO ARTIST for ONE MONTH. during that time SHE/THEY has/have earned the reputation of THE CRESTFALLEN. it makes sense you know, they can be EMOTIONAL and SELF DEFEATING. but let’s not forget they’re pretty KIND and FORGIVING. i heard their favorite song is LANDSLIDE by FLEETWOOD MAC.
Tumblr media
tw: discussions of death, PTSD, depression, marital infidelity
lara grew up in dublin by her parents, peter and mary, and they were just ur typical irish family. at the time the irish troubles were still going on but lara didnt really understand what was going on, and would go on like this until she was seven.
while she and her parents were out in the city doing errands, a car bomb went off, killing her parents along with a dozen others, and leaving lara with intense PTSD and a huge scar on her right arm.
she moved to galway to live with her aunt (her dad’s twin sister) and help her run her inn. for months lara had nightmares of what happened in dublin, and even after skin grafting the scar was still prominent. she went to church and asked the priests why her parents were killed in the bombing, but none of them had an answer.
despite all of this misery, lara found a way to keep going, mostly thanks to her aunt and her faith (even though she found no answers to the question of her parents’ death, she remained a devout catholic) and her aunt encouraged lara’s interest in art.
adolescence was a rough time as hormones were flying around all over the place, and lara’s already messed up brain was getting any better. her days at school were varied, ranging from the super productive and positive days, to ones where she could barely get herself there and get into fights with other students. she also had a long string of relationships, none of which lasted for very long and were very unstable, with lara often pushing the person away before pulling them back in and pushing them away again. despite all of that lara graduated with good marks and went on to art school and learned how to be a tattoo artist.
while working as a tattoo artist in galway she met an american tourist. he went to get a tattoo and got lara and the two of them hit it off like a house on fire. before long the two fell madly in love and lara went to the states with him.
after living together for a few years the two of them got married and for a while things were good. but like with lara’s other relationships, this one started to fracture. lara’s tendency of pushing the other person away came back and her view of her husband could never remain stable and she kept flip flopping from putting him on a pedestal to tearing him down.
the relationship started to deteriorate and lara, feeling unworthy of her husband, tried to push past her self sabotaging ways to make things better, but it never lasted long. during this time she befriended another tattoo artist and as her marriage continued to go up in flames, lara became more attracted to him, and in the end she ran away with him.
they went all the way to l.a. and lara thought that maybe this time she could be happy, but that hope quickly died. barely a year into being together lara started to feel the guilt eating her alive and in the end she couldnt bare to be with her new bf or in l.a. so she left once again.
she is now living in san francisco trying to figure out what to do next, if she should try and find her husband (she’s still technically married), start fresh, or head back to ireland.
if anyone wants to discuss connections pls hmu!!!!!!!
