A Farewell & Thank you!
A Farewell & Thank you!
Good Day Conqueror,
I just wanted to thank the word press community for fostering a dream that a little over a year ago began as a way to express my thoughts. As some of you know the past year has been an incredible learning experience but an opportunity to really achieve my dreams. In the upcoming week I will be closing down our wordpress site and transferring over to our new domain www.learnada…

Perception Is Reality: The Freedom of Children
Perception Is Reality: The Freedom of Children
Take a minute and look back at your life. I only want you to think about the times when you accomplished something as a child. Think of that moment when you finally got the hang of riding your bike without training wheels or the first time you beat your older sibling in something. Think back to your attitude prior to accomplishing that feat. You were excited and determined. You were so focused…

Finding The Hunger To Live. Inspired by The 50th Law by Robert Greene and 50 Cent
Finding The Hunger To Live. Inspired by The 50th Law by Robert Greene and 50 Cent
Have you ever been so caught up in an activity that you don’t eat for hours? You are so focused on making progress on what ever it is you’re doing that you forget to nourish your body. At some point you get that feeling in the pit of your stomach.  The feeling that is so powerful that you are forced to stop whatever you’re doing to find anything to satisfy it.
As a 24-year-old on the brink of…

My 1st Lecture: How Learn Adapt Conquer Came To Be
My 1st Lecture: How Learn Adapt Conquer Came To Be
On Friday March 14th I traveled to Natick High school to speak in front of 26 young entrepreneurs and to explain to them how I turned an idea of inspiration into a business I could call my own.
What many of our readers/customers have not yet known is how the philosophy of Learn Adapt Conquer came to be. So, I took this opportunity to explain to a group of students how several key experiences in…

Fueling the Fire After Success
Fueling the Fire After Success
How do you measure your drive for success in pursuit of reaching a goal? When you reach that goal, do you stop there, or is this goal really just a stepping stone? Once you reach where you want to be, it is easy to settle, rather than strive for more. Recognizing an accomplishment is important in reflecting on the success you have experienced in reaching that specific goal, but it is even more…

From the balcony seats of the TD Garden to the historic parquet floor of the Boston Celtics,  my friends & I managed to turn a great night of camaraderie into a night of legendary status.   Here is how it went down:
7:03pm
We met as a group in the always game day crowded North Station. Moments after meeting up we contacted a friend of ours that happened to work for the Celtics who gave us access to the exclusive sports club The Legends Club.
*This invitation to the club would prove to be pivotal to our travels as we were given a “premium” green bracelet that distinguished us just a little bit from the other fans in the building:
7:35pm
After a few celebratory drinks we made our way up to the balcony seating at the Garden. There we sat with the best of the best and began watching the absolute destruction of our hometown team.
Sometime after the 2nd Quarter
We began to mount a strategic advancement by scouting premium seating locations near the Celtics bench. We identified 3 possible locations where we could attempt a migration. However, before leaving we took the time to take multiple mediocre pictures with low lighting, just in case we “didn’t make it.”
At the end of the 3rd Quarter
We set out on what seem like a 1/2 mile walk to the other side of the arena. Along the way we said hello to my long lost cousin Blades aka the Bruins mascot. He seemed to be having a good time.
3 times we were denied by security and seating officials.
That is until, we adapted. We removed our coats and rolled up our sleeves to show our “exclusive” season-ticket holder bracelets that we had acquired at the beginning of the night and like celebrities we were in. We watched the end of the end of the game 12 rows back from the Celtics bench and met and spoke to a unique man. This man not only gave us access to the legendary floor but provided us all with valuable lessons. That man was Bone Machine.
Bone Machine
Meet La Machina De Huesos aka The Bone Machine. Bone Machine for the past 5 years has taken time each year to travel to Boston from Spain to watch his favorite sports teams play. Although, a spaniard by birth the man bled Boston to the core.  On his right forearm the words “I am a Celtic” were tattooed in green ink while on his left forearm was Red Aurabach’s iconic signature. What I soon found out from the man with the long scruffy beard and tattoos was that Bone Machine was one of the most iconic Rock & Roll photographers of all time. His work behind the camera has been revered and it was demonstrated when the Boston Celtic photographer recognized him and invited him and his “new friends” to the legendary parquet floor.(Checkout his website here)
While on the floor, we met Vitor Faverani, shot some hoops, and spoke to Walter “I love Wal-Tah” McCarty. After about an 1hr of playing, talking, & picture taking we went out across the street to The Fours Restaurant with our new Spanish friends and shared our stories, our love for Boston, and great ideas about life.During our time at the restaurant the 41 yr old taught us some valuable lessons:
#1)Don’t let your current situation in life dictate where you want to go, there is always a chance and opportunity available to accomplish your goals. The 41 yr old said this to us after explaining  to the group that he did not have much money or a career left, but was living his dreams. He said that with the little he has, he has been able to gather friends & strangers to spend a weekly trip in one of the greatest cities in the world and to watch his favorite sports teams play. His sheer enthusiasm and love for Boston was not only visible but felt, and when anyone shares their passion with others like he did with us, it is easy to appreciate.
#2) He told us that to go where you want to go you need to take risks. Bone Machine is now retired, he has been left without his photography passion because of multiple leg fractures and spinal fusions in part because of his aggressive approach in photography. In his own words he said “I had an overdose of rock & shutter aging.” Bone Machine earned his nickname for his fearlessness to take photography inside mosh pits and violent crowds during concerts through out his career. His risky style of shooting earned him many injuries but gave the world iconic and memorable photos that helped defined the culture of rock and roll. When asked if he regrets any of it, he said “if I were to die tonight, in this restaurant with food coming out of my mouth, I would be not only satisfied but grateful for everything.”
#3) Be kind.  The bone machine didn’t directly tell us this but his kindness was what made him so approachable. The two other men he was with were his nephew and a former stranger, now friend Julio that he met 2 years ago. He says on his twitter account @maquinadehuesos  he has been able to meet different people from around the world by  simply extending an invitation for a week with him in Boston. He has used the hashtag #RoadtoBoston2014 to document his story as well as #CelticsEspaña.  He says they meet in iconic landmarks and make plans for the week to take in the historic city and their teams. His adventurous personality and open mind welcomes anyone and everyone to his life like he did with me and our group.
To Bone Machine & his kindness we say thank you for an incredible experience and night! We hope to meet again. Checkout some more photos from the night below.
