Switching from celpip to ielts?
I personally don’t have a preference on either celpip or ielts. I think they are quite similar test format and questions wise. The level of difficultly of the two tests is also close. I can’t tell whether is celpip easier than ielts. It’s all about test takers’ preference. I heard some students switching from celpip to ielts because they are frustrated with not getting the celpip result they need after multiple trials. I also heard that those same people got good ielts results right after the switch. I honestly don’t know for sure why this happened. Let me make a guess here. I think those people did better in ielts were because they are used to more traditional test questions. In celpip test, some types of questions are quite new for any English proficiency test. For example, in celpip speaking, test takers will be asked questions like describing an unusual object or creature in a picture. I saw some of those pictures and those objects are really, hmm....weird. It is not something that anyone will see in their everyday life. I can understand the purpose of the question. I guess celpip wants to test whether the test takers can use the language in a creative way and whether they have good amount of vocabulary in mind. However, this type of question, i am afraid, is a bit nonsense I mean what are the chances of anyone, native or non-native English speakers, will have to describe an object that is not exist in the world.

You can only register for the Celpip test online. You cannot visit a test center or a paragon office to do it. If you have trouble booking on Celpip.ca, it's best to get someone to help who has good computer literacy skills. If you make any mistakes during registration, the wrong test date may be booked and the wrong test centre chosen. Celpip test explained
People often mix up celpip general test and celpip ls test. They think that the two tests are the same test but with different levels of difficultly. Celpip Band Score
What is celpip band score?
Celpip consists of four parts: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. After taking the celpip test, the examiners will review the test takers’ answers to each and every celpip question.The examiners will provide a Celpip test result for each of the four parts of the Celpip exam. The Celpip band score that test takers receive will be a number score from 1 to 12. 12 is the highest CELPIP score and 1 is the lowest.
