Today marks the release of #GreyhoundMovie, a #WWII drama written by and starring #TomHanks. It was an absolute honor to be a part of this epic project and meet so many amazing people involved. I walked away with precious memories from behind the scenes as both an actor and a production assistant - so many stories were made! During a lovely memorial service for the fallen sailors of the USS Kidd, I was tasked with preventing people from walking into the shot. Somebody walked up to me, looked as his phone, and prepared to pass me. I was about to grab his arm when I look up to see it's Tom himself, smiling at me before he walked up to take his position. His ever-present bodyguard gave me a look and then followed. As a sailor we took several positions for different scenes - filming on an actual battleship was unreal. With the constant shifting conditions and shots, we had to hussle for hours before returning to our bunks in the lower deck. We bonded with one another over the course of filming; we all came from different backgrounds but lived the roles together, ultimately creating awesome memories of the experience. I am so grateful for the golden opportunity and everyone involved. I'll always look back fondly on this milestone and its creation process from start to finish.
