Man, I love Kurrent. I'd been trying to count the minums in this word for a solid couple minutes before I realized what it was.

It is a really amazing Set! Here is an Image of the Inside from another Anglem

on the Bottom there is a Workbench with implied Drawers and one of them open and further up are two Tables for the Printing People to set the Type!
The Inaccuracy with the Press aside from missing a long Lever (which I can excuse on the Base that it could interfere with pulling out/pushing in the Interior) is that it has the little Bricks that represent the lead Type on the Bottom of the Presser Arm and the Paper Sheet below it — which is a reasonable Idea to have when not so deep into the Topic. For anyone not already aware: with historical Printing Presses of such Builts the Type would have been on the Bottom and then Paper is put over it and pressed down by the Press.
Got myself a new medieval not-Lego Building, a Townhouse with a Printer's Workship on the Ground Floor :3
It's by the german Company Bluebrixx, who are renowned for their realistic and detailed medieval Buildings. I waited Months for the Release, as I'm very into late-medieval/early modern Printing and instantly loved the Design. It was pleasant to build and in my Eyes keeps up their high Standard for Building Techniques, while not being unneccessarily complicated. Unlike other Buildings of them here the indivudal Floors are not stacked on top of another, but instead the Building is constructed as an empty Case with Rails in the Walls and the Floors are then slid into them like Drawers. I actually like that Concept a lot, because it makes the Interior a lot more accessible, though the front Walls could be constructed a little more rigid, as they tend to partly come off when you slide in the Floor above and are not super careful.
I really love that little Printing Press [even though there is a really tiny Inaccuracy about it (which is not Scale-/Medium-related)]!
There is also a Bakery belonging to this new Series of a medieval Street, that can be attached on the Side, which I'll also get eventually as I like the Concept. Would be cool to have a somewhat long Street at some Point, but for now this one House fittingly lives in the Bookshelf hehe
Now I just hope they cater to my Obsession with the pre-modern Printing Industry and also release a Paper Mill and a Book Vendor to complete the Manufacturing Chain. Sounds a bit unrealistic on one Hand, but on the other - given what other obscure Buildings/Crafts they made the Topic of Sets - I guess anything is possible with them!

Another Facet, which the previous Addition greatly, though presumably accidently, illustrates is that the vast Majority of Statements refering to "the Middle Ages" you come across - positive and negative - is basically useless due to their Imprecision.
This is due to them usually either being just as true for the Times before and after the Middle Ages or them making a generalized Statement about a Timespan of 1000 Years across the whole of Europe.
girl help they're putting "modern people under capitalism work more than medieval peasants" posts on my dash again
#I don't know what it is but something about the Topic 'Middle Ages' just makes most People switch of their critical Thinking#they either shape their Image completely around Monty Python's Holy Grail#or base it on their Self-Image as having it the worst ever and thus better than today#Middle Ages#History

#I have a slight Urge to show it to the Professor who got me into early Printing to begin with#but we haven't had any casual Exchange in Years so it would be really weird to do so lol#Toy Bricks#AFOB#Bluebrixx#Middle Ages#Printing

@pansytheleia tagged me for this and even though I'm mostly inactive here lately I wanted to do it anyway, so thanks! :)
1. Last song you listened to: Within Spell-Walls by Fogweaver nothing too spectacular, but I lately got into Dungeon Synth and listen to it occasionaly in the Background.
2. Last movie you watched: John Carpenter's The Thing - watched it with my Fiancée during our New Year's Vacation, I've seen it several Times before, so I obviously like it, but it was surprising how much of the Plot I acctually had forgotten
3. Currently reading: Dark Origins: Arkham Horror: The Collected Novellas, Vol. 1; not exactly sophisticated Literature, but it's entertaining to read about the Characters from my favourite Boardgame
4.Currently watching: just started The Haunting of Bly Manor recently and really like it so far!
5. Currently craving: surprisingly nothing specific, I actually satisfied several Food Cravings the last few Days, so right now I'm overall really content - maybe I'll edit that once I get hungry lol
I don't know if either of you is into such Games, but I'll tag @protoindoeuropean and @trigger--harpy!

/ Erich Kästner, Das Eisenbahngleichnis, 1931
#Poetry#Erich Kästner#absolutely not the Point of this#but isn‘t it fascinating that in the Meantime upholstered Seats for everyone has become the Standard on Public Transport?#is it because Society got slightly more just? or because it got cheaper to provide that?
