Ah. The natural wind down of the party. Frankie used to loathe this moment, but now? Well, not things were much, much different. He longed to just go to bed, and would be in bed early if he hadn’t mentioned to one of his sort-of-friend schoolmates that he would wait for him. But Frankie had the sinking feeling that the other fellow had left already and that he was now just wasting time.

And that’s when he saw her. Her. The girl from last Summer. Leda. There in front of him. Literally, right there, he could reach out and touch her if he wanted to. “L-Leda?” Was he seeing things? He wasn’t drunk, in fact, no alcohol had been in his system in months. Was this another dream?

He was confused. This wasn’t an unnatural state for him. He had forgotten where she had gone to school, her last name, all sorts of personal details. Because he had spent most of that Summer drunk. Both off of alcohol and the girl in front of him. He wasn’t sure what to say, he wished he hadn’t got her attention at all. “Well shit.”

the night was ending almost too soon----zach had kept her entertainiend for most of it, with drinking and dancing and singing that seemed to make time fly, and before she knew it the deck was nearly empty and she was about to ask for one last drink before grabbing a portkey back to the pier, when a familiar voice seemed to float through the air towards her.

“frankie?” her tone was a mixture of surprised and extremely unimpressed; she wasn’t the pining type by any means but there was a certain measure of scorn reserved for someone who left you hanging without so much as a goodbye or explanation. excusing herself, she made her way over to him, arms crossed over her chest as she gave him a once-over, “well, you’re not dead. that’s good to know. having fun?”

“Incredibly tragic,” Zach agreed, for more than one reason that he didn’t choose to vocalize other than the more self-centered one, “It would totally tarnish my well-built reputation of having the best parties if someone were to die at one.” It would be a sure way to kill the vibes, and the real tragedy would be the world being deprived of that smile the girl was sporting. “I wold suggest dancing. Lots of dancing. Especially since the music has been chosen by me. Or, even better yet, karaoke. I got a room set up for that, if you’re interested.”

“well if it’s your reputation at stake, i guess i just can’t take the risk, can i?” she teased, leaning back against the deck railing with a smile. “so that must make you the zach zabini, notorious teen yacht owner?” she looked as though she were considering his proposals, for a moment, before nodding, “dancing and karaoke----how can i pick? maybe a drink, first, though? and if i’m being served by the host, i better raise my expectations, hm?”

“I can’t deny that.” Danny grinned, already envisioning himself on the beach among all the muggle tourists at the resort. “But I’m a little pissed that they picked our school to host – that’s less places we get to go to! I met this Katanohk girl and I hear their school’s in fucking treehouses!”

“but that means they think our school is one of the best, doesn’t it?” leda countered, “i, for one, am not looking forward to winter in russia. i’ve never even seen snow, other than in pictures.”

leda rolled her eyes at ripley’s change in mood, something she supposed she should be used to. “ripley warbeck, everyone, always willing to remind us why he hasn’t got any friends.” she stood, more than ready to find more pleasant company, “obsess over money all you want, ripley, you’ll never be able to buy yourself a decent personality----or class to go with it.”

Zach gave a wave of his hand, explaining, “Look, I don’t doubt that you’ve got skills, but you’re gonna have to trust me on this: that water is a helleva lot warmer than you think. And after some alcohol, you also probably don’t want mess with the sort of creatures that lurk in there.”

“but that makes it perfect for a night swim, don’t you think?” leda answered quickly, amending it when she heard the second half of his explanation, “i guess it would be fairly tragic if i were to fall victim to a group of rogue mermaids,” she joked, knowing there were far more dangerous aquatic creatures than that (in fact, the mermaids around aquaria were rather friendly at times). “so-----what would you suggest instead?”

Celia stood on the deck, sipping on her drink, taking in the night, all the jazz that one did with a brief moment of being alone at a party. A group of girls near here were laughing, pointing at another girl. A swimsuit-clad girl. “Slut shaming ladies? Really? Grow up.” Celia brushed passed them, knocking one on the shoulder as she did. She joined the other girl. 

“I know nothing about Aquaria, so pardon me for not getting out of my own bubble. I want to know all about it but first I want to know how we’re going to get around this lame net thing. Because tonight is the best night for a swim.”

leda smiled; finally, someone speaking her language----figuratively, of course, she thought as she fiddled with the very convenient runic bracelet (not terribly unstylish, either). “aquaria is beautiful, but you’ll get to see it soon enough for yourself, and i don’t want to be one of those ‘my school is better than yours’ types,” leda said with a smile, “the net’s a good idea in theory, especially with so much liquor around, but i’m hoping there’s some way to pass it----otherwise the hot tub will have to do.”

the hot tub did seem the safer option, she supposed-----even if that really wasn’t swimming. “i guess i could save my sea adventures for when it’s a bit lighter outside.” she said, grabbing a drink, “i’m sure no matter how full it is they’d make room for me----or us, if i can convince you to come along.”

hello hi there! i only have two intros left, BLESS. anyway here is my sweet cinnamon (sometimes sinnamon when she’s feeling ~sassy) roll leda avana, sweet meta makeup + hair aficionado

leda is a halfblood, and so far as exposure to the muggle world goes, is fairly knowledgable about it. she has one brother and the family spends a decent amount of time in both the magical and muggle worlds----so leda’s grown up actually interacting with muggles and knows just how lovely and quite frankly, ingenious they can be, doing a lot of things (like fashion) better than their magical counterparts.

leda can come off as a bit vain and vapid but she’s actually very creative and witty? she just enjoys beautiful, aesthetically pleasing things in her life and will literally tear down anyone who thinks that her more ‘superficial’ tendencies somehow make her less valuable of a person. she’s quite smug to attend what is, in her opinion, the most beautiful (and prestigious) school of magic----aquaria.

leda is also a metamoprhagus, though she really doesn’t use the ability all that much? mostly just for fun cosmetic things like changing her hair color or length or style. despite being able to change her appearance at will, or maybe because of it, leda loves loves loves all aspects of cosmetology and beautifying oneself. not because she feels she has to but because to her it’s an art---being able to change your looks or your hair or anything is a skill and she loves it, it’s soothing for her tbh? ANYWAY so yeah she’s into both muggle and magical methods of makeup application and hair styling etc etc.

also lemme add this gal is feminist AF!!!! so yeah if u try to drag her for being into “traditionally feminine” things she will literally !!!! open a portal to hell and swallow you whole!!! but otherwise she’s p chill and amiable just let her do her thing and she’ll let you do yours u know?

my lil hufflepuff is so damn LOYAL and just !!!! her friends are her number one LIKE she will go to war for them so don’t mess around! and her brother is honestly ??? the light of her life tbh ??? she may come off as a bit frivolous (and she spoils the people around her when she can) but her emotions run Deep so if u manage to become a part of her crew she is Ride or Die tbh.
