“W-what? But how would being here help further you back home?” Chloe asked, slightly confused as to what he was getting at.

“It’s doing a favor for people back home,” he said dismissively, “I told you, I speak from experience when it comes to making decisions about being a part of infamous families.”

“I can’t believe I just considered a trip to Europe to meet with the powers that be a vacation but… here we are… At least the… food was great.”

“I can’t believe the powers that be would meet with you at all. Are you sure the food wasn't drugged?”

Bryana understood why they called eating like a starving person ‘wolfing it down’ as it was currently like she was doing, she had enough on the table for at least four people but it was only her sitting down, full moons, both before and after, always made her specially hungry, she looked up and found someone staring at her, and she shrugged.

“Please don’t judge… I’m a wolf, I’ve got a fast metabolism and the full moons make me feel like I could eat an entire elk on my own.”

“At least you’ve got a reason, you should see some of the things I’ve seen eaten at other parties I’ve been too.” Fae were not exactly known for their self control when it came to indulgences. At least, not any fae that Reid cared to associate with.

“Relax. They’ve never been worn. See,” He said, motioning to the price tag that he had tucked into the back on the panties. “But, you know, I’ll keep that in mind. About the whole G String thing,” He joked.

“I am relaxed. I’m far more of a panties-off kind of guy,” he said, “that tag just means the tag’s still on and they can be returned. Wardrobes do it all the time.”

  ✦ — • Ingrid was making her way through the lot to get herself some coffee. She desperately needed it. But to anyone who knew her, they wouldn’t think she even needed coffee. She was almost always upbeat and happy but today was a day where she, internally, needed coffee bad. She saw a familiar face as she continued to walk. However, she turned her path to the familiar, “hey! Want to get some coffee with me? I’ll buy.” She offered.

“Coffee and liquor are two things I never turn down,” Reid said after quickly doing the calculations between watching the show film and getting more coffee. One was vital and the other, well, coffee it was. “you don’t seem like a coffee person, if you don’t mind me saying.”

“Five feet.” Elena warned him before she took her seat in the chair across from him. She’d met Reid a few times around set, but for the most part she’d tried to avoid him. It wasn’t anything against him, it was just the simple fact that he always smelled like the most unbelievable snack. So she’d made a rule at all times to be five feet apart, it was a way to help control her urges so she didn’t full on attack him. “So are you going to work this summer on any of the shows or you going to high tail it out of town and spend the summer doing something fun?”

“We must look like a more attractive version of that couple in that movie,” he said, “I hope we get better reviews.” It was no secret that the best way to get someone to do something was to tell them they couldn’t. Reid didn’t want to end up as someone’s dinner, but he also had never met a rule he didn’t like to break. Or one that his looks couldn’t let him at least bend. “I don’t know yet. I’m dying with anticipation for the verdict from my employers. What about you? Any big plans? I hear Romania is lovely during the summers.”

“Hey–” Leaning against the door frame before she held up the expensive bottle of wine to Reid. “I figured you might be up for a night of bad decisions and not a lot of talking?” Letting a playful smirk cross her features. “Although if you’re not up for it I can always take this expensive bottle of wine to someone else.”

“Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes,” Reid said, putting aside his tablet, “I was about to go cross eyed looking at this screen.” The content was good, but until the renovations in his home studio were finished, he was condemned to inferior equipment. “don’t you dare. My needs at the moment are dire.”

“Oh, hi!” She spoke, surprised to see the person standing near her. “I wasn’t expecting anyone else to be here. I was just um, practicing some new designs. Is there something I can help you with?” 

“Just looking for somewhere quiet to review my own work,” Reid said, “but this corner of the place seems to be occupied. Unless you’re willing to share?”

“What?” Noah let out a laugh as he struck a pose. “You’re telling me this shouldn’t be my next fashion statement?” He teased, having way too much fun fooling around in the set Costume Closet as they were waiting to hear the news of what Fall Shows weren’t returning for a second season and which Summer Shows were coming out that he could potentially audition for.

“I’m not a fan of pink eye, but to each their own,” Reid said, “might be easier to see if you did it with a g-string.”

“I like the sound of that? Yeah, I think you’re right. It is all that matters in the scheme of things,” Chloe said with a small smile. “So, what about you? How are you dealing with all of this?”

“I only speak from experience,” Reid said with a shrug, “Oh I’m fine. What happens in this realm doesn’t matter to me, unless I majorly mess up. I’m only interested in furthering myself back home.”

“Maybe. But, I prefer being brutally honest. Weave a web filled with too many lies and you might just get yourself caught in it,” Astrid said with a simple shrug.

“I miss those days.” Reid had liked being naive, not knowing what hard work was. “As long as no spiders come along.”

“Seriously? They’re like..really small and really cute but still annoying at times.”

“Would you believe that was the description I gave of the last three girls to my doorman.”

“I mean I’m pretty sure everyone has done it. Cut loose. I’m just the person still holding onto past wrongs and family expectations and having a hard time living my own life.”

“Is that making you happy?” Reid inquired, “when it stops making you happy, or fulfilling you in some way, maybe then things will be different. Hopefully before they get worse.”

Luke took a sip of his coffee with a frown before looking at the person standing next to him with a confused expression. “At the coffee shop a woman said I looked just like one of those guys from Operation Unknown, I said I was, and she just looked at me up and down and went ‘Nah, he’s taller’” Luke said in an American accent shaking his head. “And then she gave me her number cause she thought I was trying to impress her and said my British accent was spot on… I just… Don’t know what just happened.”

“She should get her eyes checked, you look much more like that gladiator from Pompeii. Or that guy from that Thrones show, the one who doesn’t know anything.”

I met a puppy once that was half German Shepherd, half teacup Chihuahua, and all I could think was….how did you happen? Like it was really trippy, dude.“

“...I had no idea teacup Chihuahuas were a thing that exists.”

“Do you ever just cut loose? It’s hard when all you’ve ever done is just toed the lines been the and perfect daughter.” Sometimes she didn’t even know if she knew how to let loose.

“Not as much as I used to, but one day maybe I will again.” If he worked herd enough, Reid knew one day he could stop working and go back to his old life, if not his old innocence. “Do you not like a challenge? If it was easy, wouldn't everyone do it?”

“Yeah? Well, I’ve never been a big fan of sugarcoating things,” Astrid with a little shrug. That and she didn’t really believe that the whole true love they wrote fairytales and love songs about was really in the books for a girl like her.

“Yes. Really? Because I am a huge fan of it.” He liked his world of illusions and easy, if not false, success. This hard working bullshit was meant for other people. “Ignorance is bliss, isn’t that the saying?”
