Well...I was at least... when I've found out what fine, smart creatures dragons are, me and my crew decided to distance ourselves from that line of business! Now I'm just the greatest Dragon Rider!" {Roleplay blog based on Eret from How To Train Your Dragon 2}

The man rubs his own neck as he gasps for air, he luckily were able to grab her attention, to this.....kind of true story.
It's no lie that the man 'thinks' he saw a Night's Fury, but he's not entirely sure of it, could've been a big black gronckle or something.
"I saw a Night's Fury up north from 'ere, Draga. We can catch it for ya, what do you say? A Night's Fury worth more than 100 regular dragons, eh?"
For a moment, Draga thought surely she had misheard.  Once she determined that she had, in fact, heard correctly, her first instinct was that Eret had lied.  Men would say anything, promise anything, if they thought it might buy their life.
But if it were truth…
With a snarl she released the trapper, letting him drop to the deck at her feet. “You have ten words to change my mind,” she growled, “use them wisely.”

The man nods, that lady had more might than most of vikings out there, it's not everyone who's so dedicated to her own job to the point of facing her own fears.
"Well, I s'pposed I should be goin' now!" Once she finishes talking, the man stands up, staggering near the wall, it still hurt, but he'll live. The male slowly walked towards the door while being supported by Skullcrusher, until he stops in mid-way and looks back with a smile.
Tumblr media
"Thank ya doc...." He wanted to say something else, but for now a simple show of gratitude should be enough.
☤—  “No. I don’t. This is my duty.” Nella said, a little more firmly then she meant to. Swallowing anxiously, she managed to compose herself. “Like I said… I couldn’t leave you to die in the forest. As a healer, I’ve sworn to the care of others, without prejudice or discimination. To not do everything within my power, even climbing onto the back of a dragon, would not be fufilling my sworn oath.” She explained.
"Anyway… Your wounds are bound for now, but eventually they’ll need to be cleaned and rebound. You need to come back here every three days so I can do that. That’ll ensure your wound heals cleanly and quickly."

The man's smile vanishes from his face, was that how she saw things? Because by the man's perspective, was that he put her in danger due to his impulsive nature. To be honest, the man probably couldn't live with himself knowing that he would've killed the lady due to mere carelessness.
Contrary to the popular believe, Eret didn NOT have a knack for killing, dragons, humans or otherwise. He enjoyed some battles? Sure, but he'd never kill an opponent, capture them? Perhaps, but never kill them.
The male sighes. "You didn't owed me anythin' Nella..."
☤—  “I had no other choice!” Nel said, then realizing she was defending her actions when really there was nothing to defend. She had done what the pair of them had set out to do - conquered her fear. Well, at least somewhat.
At the return of one of his smarmy comments, Nel rolled her eyes. “Oh please, you flatter yourself. As healer of Berk, it’s my duty to make sure people don’t get left in the forest to die.” She pointed out, crossing her arms over her chest. “Besides… it would be rude to not save you, considering you saved me. An eye for an eye.”

The man's smug expression vanished from his face after she mentioned Skulkcrusher, the male didn't knew much about Stoick, but he knew that the viking was the woman's husband.
"Oh....he's just peachy....still a lazy bastard, but I s'pposed that comes from bein' a boulder." He scratches his neck, well, he should probably give his sympathies.
Tumblr media
"I uh....I'm sorry 'bout Stoick...I'm sure he was a great man."

"You were always off your guard. And usually I came in to release the dragons late at night, also I was always better than you. After all the Alpha did destroy that pitiful little fort you had.”
Tumblr media
"Yes, that’s my name." She shook his offered hand with her own. " I am well aware of who you are, and what you were. How well are you faring on Berk so far? And how is Skullcrusher doing?"

The man points at her, as if he was trying to remember. "Valka, right?" The man offers her hand in a greeting manner. "Don't think were were properly introduced, I'm Eret, son of Eret, finest dragon-trapper in the world....well was at least.

The creature immediately goes towards Eret, offering his head for the dragon trapper to  to pet, which the man gladly did so. The man smile suddenly turned into a perplexed expression, wait a minute, does this mean what he thinks it means?
"Wait wait wait....you're tellin' me you ride Skullcrusher to get here?"
The man still felt a bit confused by that, Skullcrusher were one of the most stubborn, hardest to ride dragons of all Berk, that's why he was given to Stoick, to think that someone like Nella, had a such natural talent.
Tumblr media
"Facin' your fears to save me, never thought ya liked me that much, beor!" And as always, instead of congratulating her, he decides to be a smarmy idiot, it's almost as if the man couldn't help it.
☤—  “I… had a little help.” Nel admitted, jumping a little when Skull knocked his head against the door, peering in through the gap. He made a growl, but incredibly, Nel didn’t feel scared. She was a little hesitant to let a dragon into a house - especially such a large one - but she figured it was for Eret’s sake and having loved ones nearby was shown to lift morale in patients.
"Here." Nel offered, opening the other side of the door and making it wide enough for Skull to enter. She gave him a wide berth, still conscious of not getting that close to him.

"Hey, you were the one that said I was an unique man, not me!" He joked, letting out a small chuckle. But suddenly something hit him, his memory were kind of blurry, they were MILES away from her house, how in the world, were they able to get there so fast? She couldn't have posssibly have walked.
"Wait a second, how did you brought me here? Ya couldn't have possibly walked all the way with me on your back!"
Tumblr media
Skullcrusher, then decided to enter the house, and greet his wounded friend.
Tumblr media
{CONCERNED GROWL.}
☤—  Nella gives him an encouraging smile, glad to see he can move well and nothing seems to have been damaged, besides the new wound on his side. The balm she had applied, a poultice made with herbs and mud from the spring, would keep out infection, as well as aid the healing process. So long as he kept it clean and got a new bandages every few days, it should be fine in two weeks. “It’s a rather impressive collection.” She admitted, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Oh. Uh, yeah… I’m perfectly fine. A few scratches but…" Nel looks down at his bandages, then looks him in the face with a look of concern. "…Thank you, Eret. For saving me. It was… brave of you. I don’t know many men who would do what you did." Clearing her throat, she reached over and gently pushed his jaw with her fist, pretending to punch him. "Don’t let that gratitude go to your chin, though."

The man realizes what he just did, then decided to just go with the subject change, once she ends up asking, the man tried o lift his upper body to sit, letting out a small groan, it's amazing, the man has suffered multiple types of wounds, some for training, other for fighting, he'salready used to this, but for some reason, it never gets any easy.
"Well, feels like someone made a hooley 'round my insides, but I'll live."
He touches the scar on his abdomen.
"One more scar for the collection, eh?" He stated with a smirk, come to think of it, o all his scars, this was the only one which he hreceived for actually helping someone.
"How about you? Hope I didn't hurt my butt off for nothin'." The man asked with his usual cocky tone, but deep down he was genuinely concerned about the girl.
☤—  Despite the situation, Nella let out a laugh. He could still make such cocky comments, even in a time like this… it was almost a relief. However, she was a little surprised when he cupped her face. His hand was warm and large and his rough, calloused skin felt surprisingly pleasant. Nella froze, unsure of how to react, then realizing this kind of contact might be inappropriate.
"Well… You’re arms are working, at least." She said, taking his hand and gently moving it back to his side. "What about the rest of you… Can you move everything? Can you feel everything?" She asked with concern. Hitting his back as hard as he did, it was possible there could be serious damage… although she hoped not.

The man tried to loosen her grip by holding her fingers around his neck, but she was way too strong, of course she was, why wouldn't she, the woman commands an entire fleet of bloody dragons. The man tried to breath, but it was almost impossible, Draga were never the type to take it easy, some say she even killed someone with one of those punishments.
Feeling lightheaded and about to pass-out the man had to think of something that would calm the dragon master down, until something comes to his mind.
"Night's......Fury....." Those were the only words he was able to utter.
The trapper’s words were cut-off as Draga seized him by the neck and jaw, lifting him onto his toes.  Everyone on deck was watching the exchange now: some poised ready to respond should Draga give the order, others simply as spectators.  The warleader tightened her grip, pulling Eret closer until they were almost nose-to-nose.
"You promised me dragons," she hissed, deadly soft, "and instead you bring words?!”
She was finished listening to him speak; she thought briefly of tearing out that wagging tongue as punishment for his failure.

"W-well, technically it was the cell that let 'em escape, not me." He let out a small but really nervous laughter, that was definitely not the time, but Eret couldn't help himself, everytime he's terrified or nervous he tends to use humour as defense mechanism....it hasn't help much when it comes to Draga, the Lady of the Dragons never had much of a sense of humour.
"I'll bring you the double of the dragons by the end of the week! NONO actually the triple! I-I-I swear!"
Tumblr media
Draga Bludvist had two types of anger.
The first was explosive, like a wildfire.  In this state Draga would snarl and shout, and often manhandle the cause of her displeasure.  It was an anger that left marks—painful reminders of her wrath, but that would ultimately fade.  And in general, this anger was preferred to the other, colder form.
It was this other state that brought the crew’s actions on deck to a screeching halt at Eret’s confession.  There was no shouting, no manhandling, not so much as a single word.  But the darkened mood that descended upon the ship was nearly tangible in its weight, crushing the air from the lungs of all who witnessed it.  And when Draga finally did speak, her voice was barely more than a growl, inaudible had the entire deck not gone deathly silent.

"You allowed my shipment to escape?"

The man were barely aware of what was going on, putting all his energy on staying conscious, he felt a sting sensation on his abdomen. It was starting to get harder and harder to remain awake....welll he tried and that's more than a lot of people can say. The dragon trapper was about to give up until he heard a sweet and familiar voice calling out for him....Nella. She never gave up on him, not even once, Eret couldn't disappoint her, so the man, with all the remaining strength he got, opened his eyes, and stared at the pale, but beautifullady. Giving his usual cocky smirk.
"....Heh....you ain't gettin' rid of me that easily." The man stated as he slowly reaches for her face and cups her cheek.
☤—The dragon moved quickly, but no where near as forcefully as last time. Perhaps it was because Eret’s life depended on her, but this time she moved with the movements of the dragon, clinging onto the former dragon-trapper and holding him close. The trip was quick, quicker then Nella thought it was going to be, but at the back of her mind she remembered she had never ridden a dragon before, so she had never measured distance or time when flying through the sky.
The landed was sudden, but Nel managed to move with it, sliding off and landing on her feet. She pulled Eret off with her, holding him up with her arm over her shoulders and hauling him into her cabin. Lying him down on the nearest bed, she began to remove his clothes. First the fur, then rolling up the bottom half of his now blood-soaked shirt. “It’s okay, Eret. It’s just a flesh wound.” She reassured him, but without assessing his spine she had no real idea. She moved quick, finding everything she needed to clean his wound and then bind it tightly. Whilst the binding applied pressure, she prepared a salve, removing the bind and cleaning the wound again, then covering it. The salm hardened against the air, simultaneously stinging his wound to reduce chances of infection. After that, all that’s left was to wrap the wound properly in bandages.
"Eret." She said, listening to his heart and breathing again. Still there… just. He was only semi-concious, so she rushed to find him a smelling salt, hoping to bring him back round. "Eret. Wake up." She cupped his cheek and stroked it tenderly. "Eret. C’mon, this can’t be it. You’re invincible. Once the greatest dragon trapper alive. How’ve you not been thrown about a hundred times? It’s just a flesh wound… That’s all it is." She looked down at him, desperately urging him to open his eyes. "…What happened to teasing me for eternity? Who’s going to do that if you’re not here?"

The dragon frowned, with fire on his eyes, he was NOT going to lose another master, not if he has any saying on the matter, he bended his joints, and stared confidently at the horizon, Once the girl asked if they were ready, the dragon started to run towarss the horizon until they reached a cliff, which the dragon quickly jumped and started to fly.
He wasn't in such a huge speed right now, but he still was going rather quickly, hoping that hte girl were having a tight grasp on him.
Eret on the other hand, were barely conscious, frankly, if it weren't for the girl incentive of what a Eret means and the memory of his father, he would have probably already died there in the forest, right now he's fighting with every fiber of his being to remain awake.
☤— Nella reaching out to help him, hauling him up by grabbing the fur at his shoulders and the wrapped her arm around his back. “That’s it. There we go.” She said, looking back up from where they had fallen. They needed to get Eret to her home as quickly as possible… but it looked like walking back up wasn’t an option. Looking at Skullcrusher, nuzzling and trying to encourage his rider, she thought maybe the dragon could go and get help… but who knew how long that would take.
Sighing, Nel realized there was nothing else for it. She would have to take Eret herself… on the back of Skullcrusher. The healer in her told her to squash her fear - someone was in need of her help and this wasn’t time for selfishness. “We need to get you on the back of Skull.” She told the former dragon trapper, suddenly getting up and, with a surprisingly amount of force, hauling him to his feet, putting his arm round the back of her neck and hauling him over to the dragon. She managed to get him seat and then get behind him, holding him up and reaching for the reins. “Okay… Okay… Ready?” She asked, meaning everyone, including herself.

The man let out a small laugh, the girl were probably that thinking what she just said, was ridiculous, but it was right. A true Eret would never give up like that. A true Eret would fight until the last damn breath. He then remembers what his father used to say:
'If you can't take care of himself, ya might as well be a piece of wood to throw it at the fire.'
"I.....I ain't a piece of wood." He uttered in a whispering tone, while trying to at least lift his upper body, so that he would be easier to be carried.
☤— “Don’t say things like that.” Nel scolded him gently, reaching out and brushing a rogue hair out of the way of his face. “You’ll upset him.” She said, meaning Skullcrusher. Although… part of her couldn’t help but mean it for her too. “You’re going to be fine, we just… We need to move you? Can you move at all?” She asked, when suddenly she felt a wetness on her leg that was resting against his side. Looking down, she lifted his fur to see he had been cut rather badly on his side and blood was seeping into his shirt.
"Eret, you’re bleeding. You’ve got a nasty wound. We need to get you treatment, back at my home. Can you move for me at all?" Nella asked, her voice soft but firm, reaching out and cupping the side of his face. "Can you—" She stopped and resisted the urge to roll her eyes at how ridiculous it sounded. "Can you show me what it means… to be an Eret?"

After a couple of long minutes the man finally regained consciousness, however still pretty beated, his eyes were semi-closed, but he could see the figure of a pale, but somewhat enchanting woman, it was no doubt that was Nella. He gives a weak smile at the girl, the man was glad that she was safe. "Guess I can't tell stories 'bout me being invincible  anymore huh?" He gives a small laugh but is interrupted by a cough, it was weird, he'd imagined that he'd have a large amount of pain, but to be honest, he barely felt anything...actually he barely felt his body at all...it seemed that his entire body went in shock....is this going to be the end of the young dragon-trapper?
Tumblr media
Skullcrusher lands near the male, with a sad look. "Looks like it's the end of the road for me mucker."
The man tries to lift his hand to pet the dragon, but is unable to, the dragon then helps him out and puts his head unter the former trapper's hand.
☤—  The world had become chaos, everything happening so fast it was beyond comprehension. One moment, Nel was spinning through the air to her death, seeing land and then sky and then land the sky and then—  Darkness and warmth and a scent that was vaguely familiar -musky, masculine, sea salt - engulfed her. A familiar deep, cocky voice was in her ear and then—
They hit the ground at an angle, crashing through tree branches that slowed them. They landed, or rather Eret took the brunt of it all, slamming into dense, soft shrubbery and then sliding down a ledge until they finally slowed to a stop. What had all been loud and sensation as branches and what not had whipped at Nel, cutting her even in the protection of Eret’s arms, now stopped and fell silent. There was little sound, save for a nearby trickling of a stream. Slowly, she opened her eyes.
Eret’s embrace was warm… but suddenly limp. She had curled herself against him but, visibly shaking and breathing unsteadily, she pulled herself back, raising her gaze to look down at him. He was flat on his back, littered with dirt and cuts and leaves and bruises… and unconscious. Immediately, Nel went into healer mode. “Eret.” She said loudly and clearly, her expression going from terrified to concern in seconds and she reached out to cup his face with both her hands. “Eret, can you hear me?” She asked, watching for some kind of reaction before quickly laying her head against his chest.
There was a heartbeat, good and strong, and his chest rose and fell as he breathed evenly. Getting up again, Nel clambered off him and went to his side. “Eret. Eret, wake up.” She said, cupping his face with both her hands once more, gently stroking his cheeks with her thumbs.

"Oh no!" That's the only thing the male could say, as he swiftly tried to rach for the girl, she really hit hard on the wing, as the Skullcrusher dived to save the girl the man gets more and more certain that they're not going to reach her like that before she meets the ground. Well, it seems he had no other choice, so without a second thought, the man tapped on Skullcrusher's side. "Mucker! The human slingshot!" The creature let out a concerned roar. "NO TIME FOR THAT, DO IT!"
The creature promptly oblige, the man let go of the other, while the dragon makes a sudden stop, making the young male fall straight to the girl direction.
They were only meters away from the floor, until the man finally reaches the girl, cover her body with a hug, and aims to land on his own back.
"Told ya...."
That's the only thing the man could uttered until they finally hit the ground.
☤—Nella was about to respond with something cutting when suddenly his entire demeanour changed the dragon beneath them shifted. The fear struck her again, because now it was actually happening. Without thinking, Nella begins to speak. “But I’m not an Ere—eeeEEEEEEEEET!” She screamed as they suddenly took off and they were moving through the air with incredible force. Everything was overwhelming - the wings beating at their sides, the beast dipping and lifting beneath them, the speed that they moved. It was so sudden, Nel felt herself being nearly left behind, if she weren’t clinging to Eret. She felt herself almost slip back off the saddle and in response her hands grabbed the fur at Eret’s front, her legs clamp against his and her chest and face are pressed against his back, buried in his fur to try and stop the terror that she found herself overwhelmed by.
"Stop! Stop! She found herself saying. "Make it stop!" She managed to lift her head to shout at him, but leaned back just as the dragon turned at a tight sudden angle, and Nella found herself not going along with them. Her grip on his fur was suddenly gone and her eyes widened as she slipped right off the leather saddle and found herself being thrown off, smacking into Skullcrusher’s wing as she went, then plummeting back towards the forest. She didn’t even have it in her to scream as she twisted round and round, the ground rising up to meet her and then the sky and then the ground suddenly much closer. Honestly thinking this would be her death she screamed the only thing that came to her mind in that moment that could possibly have a chance of saving her. "EREEEEEEEEEEEEEEET—"
