ranting, sorry
awkward moment when you find out one of your closest friends has been going behind your back all year, telling everyone that your successes are as a direct result of being friends with her, and that you donāt deserve your success because you donāt come in to the library nearly as much as her

him: haha so do you have any fantasies? ;)
me: i've published a critically acclaimed new york times bestselling novel and i'm set for life on royalties alone. i attend a charity event for supporters of the arts. i meet lin manuel miranda. he tells me he's glad to meet me and he enjoyed my book. i burst into tears in front of everyone; nobody says anything about it, they all understand. when i recover we jokingly discuss a stage adaptation. freddie mercury is back from the dead and he's performing. i look good in every photograph taken that night.

I finished my law degree yāall!!!
My university has just built a beautiful new business and law building, which I got to use for three weeks haha. But we did get use of the new-ish SU, I split a bottle of prosecco with one of my best friends post last (intellectual property, ew) exam, and drank with our professors in celebration.
Iāve got three results to go: equity and trusts exam, commercial law exam, IP exam. All in all worth about 45% of my marks for the year, so no pressure???
lol kill me (if the stress of waiting doesnāt do it)

Tea is a necessity with revision.
When I was revising for my commercial law exam, our professor came in to tell us all good luck and that (in his lovely Welsh accent)Ā āyouāll all bloody smash it, I know it!!ā bless him.
Then he went to the cafƩ and bought all five of us teas! I think he could see the bloodshot eyes and premature stress wrinkles and felt sympathetic, so plied us with teas, haha. It worked though, because for my pre-seen question on the Financial Conduct Authority, I somehow managed to remember all 11 paragraphs and regurgitated them in the exam ahh! (Not before getting hand cramp and struggling to physically write the remaining questions, whoops.)
This year has been bloody stressful, but itās definitely been made better by some really genuinely sweet professors. :)

I got the highest mark in my year for advanced EU law yāall!!!
Honestly Iām not too sure how this is happening, I mean I know I love research and that I work damn hard but I kept on missing out on the grades last year - this year Iām smashing literally everything
I need to average 70 for my dream LLM and Iām currently averaging 85 and am neck in neck with the top person in the year - Iām doing better then the 350+ others in my year
what?????!!!!!????

There aren't a lot of UK lawblrs on they tag - what comes next for you? Ā Bar exam or something more like articling for the Canadian lawblrs?
Hello! My law degree is basically a BA at this point. Our legal profession is split into two, so I could choose to become a solicitor and take the Legal Practice Course (more in firm based) or a barrister and take the Bar (more court itself based, plus you get to wear a wig). Both, naturally, are ridiculously expensive so about half of us wait until a law firm or barristers inns of court sponsor us to take either course. The other half pay for it themselves and hope theyāll get a job after it. :)
Personally, Iām taking an LLM instead because I want to go into a very niche area; plus Iām a huge research nerd and want to take my PhD almost immediately after. Then progress into lecturing, research for governmental institutions etc etc. :D
Hope that all makes sense!

10000%. Especially the reading - I used to love reading. Iāve read one full fiction book in three years. Do it before you start!!!
Attention Lawblr community!
Does anyone know of a good study guide series for students about to go into 1L? Thanks!

Legal/Law School YouTubers?
Hello all! I follow a lot of booktubers on YouTube, as well as a few academia based people too - but Iāve noticed a distinct lack of law school YouTubers. There are a few based in the US but this seems to be it!
A) are there more law school YouTubers out there and Iām just unaware of them? If so, would you mind pointing me in the right direction?
B) and/or would anyone be interested in me/someone else starting one up? Iām in my last few weeks of law school (before progressing on to the LLM lol) and feel like Iāve kind of cracked revision techniques, essay research, structure and writing etc. but really would have benefitted from some advice from others in my first year when I was a lost lil bean!!!
