Yo, it’s your local wild boy Jay here!

And I’m… back?! Yeah, crazy I know.

However, I’m leaving this blog behind, as it’s a total god damn mess with all the tags and such and I have no want to try and clean it up! Among other things here.

So I’m making a different multi-muse, with a very very condensed list of muses, some older, and some new! So I’m hoping that you come and join me at my new place of residence and welcome me back into the roleplay world after being gone for… well… 3 years, just about!

Erin was pretty sure this was the man resting.  At least mostly.  If he wanted her shirt off, her shirt would already be off.  She stroked his hair, a gentle light hum coming from her throat.  No tune in particular, just random notes as she plucked them from the air.  Not quite the hot springs, but hopefully still soothing.  Still something.

“…I’ll do my best, Gaius.”

“In the meantime, I’ve been told I make a decent pillow, if you want a little nap before the hot springs.  I can sing you something.”

He’s being complacent at the moment, not wanting to move as she continues to stroke his hair, something that he very, very rarely lets anyone do. A more subtle sigh happens, though this one wasn’t sounding stressful; it was very light, though she could probably feel it, since her skin was so close. Her tune made the atmosphere lighter.

“You’ll succeed. I believe in you.” A slight pause. “No, that won’t be necessary. I feel a lot better now, if you cannot tell. The rest will come from the hot springs.”

“Sure I do.  That’s what a bard is for, to make people smile and make their spirits just a little bit lighter.”

She paused, and laughed a little, leaning her head against the man comfortably.  A man still, even though a king, the strongest man in the world…but only a man.

“But I do for you whatever I can, as will I for as long as I am able.  You’re worth such, Gaius, Erston, whatever you choose your name to be, the man you’ve chosen to be is worth everything.”  To her, to many others, but she was privileged to be allowed to smooth his brow sometimes, and she treasured the chance.

“It’s not flattery.  Flattery is empty compliments to please you.  I only tell you the truth.”

It was very rare to find someone as honest and caring as Erin. It was sweet of her to be so caring of him even when he didn’t ask of it. Suddenly, his fatigue didn’t feel so heavy. Perhaps he did just need to calm down and take a rest. Despite only traveling around and doing meet and greets, it was very exhausting on one’s psyche. Maybe Gaius had been thrown off by the overuse of his mind.

“If the people had more people in the world like you, then there wouldn’t be a question of acceptance from others that are different,” he spoke, looking at her. A head tucked against her skin, under her chin against her neck, almost as if he were trying to look down her shirt. “Never change, Erin.”

Was this a trap. Pupils widened in shock from the woman’s statement, but Gaius got himself back together. Honestly, the thought was a bit foreign to him-- he didn’t expect her to do something so... domestic. But it struck something inside of Gaius... something special... something soft... that he couldn’t help but accept.

“What do you wish for me to do to it, Velvet?”

Well of course she was certain they all hated her. Compared to their Milla, she seemed vapid, insipid. Sure, she might not have known the Milla they all knew, but she’d seen how inspired they were by her, how they always expected more from her–more passion, more willpower, more strength. It seemed… ridiculous that the king of all people would tell her this. It certainly lent it all a weight that Leia or even Alvin couldn’t quite seem to apply.

“…Hmph.” She refused to budge, but at least she was no longer arguing. It was a start.

(Now if she could think of Gaius as something other than “the king,” then maybe she could accept him too, like she’s hesitantly begun accepting the rest of the party.)

Well, at least she finally started to calm down and stop opposing every idea he gave. However, it still seemed she was uneasy. “I’m not asking you to trust any of us until you’re fully ready to or you feel you can. Take as much time as you need.”

As much traveling the king did these days, making sure everyone was peaceful was hard. Some people just hated Rieze Maxians due to the differences between them and Elympions. It was a never ending cycle. Now to add dimensionism into that as well? Not a layer Gaius would ever stand for if he can help it.

“...if anyone has a problem with you, they have one with me as well.”

“I do have some ideas! It’s just,” Damn it, his bluff had been called. But that was more in line of what he expected; a King would know when someone was trying to be sly with him.  “At least here in Elympios, the one paying for the food gets to decide where everyone eats. But if that’s no good…” He’d have to figure something out quickly. The only problem is being a self-prided chef, And the places he did go were usually small cafes not really suited for a party of ten (or eleven if he could get his brother to come).  

“How about we see what’s in Drellin? I haven’t been there often to know every place by heart, but it’s gotten a reputation for having the best food in Elympios. And I’m sure they’re used to having giant groups show up unlike the smaller places in Trigleph that I know.” An excuse to get a little more time? Sort of– Drellin was considered a high priority for those who wanted to taste authentic Elympion culture. Ludger had more faith in if he chose a random place there than Trigleph at least.

“Do you have time for a field trip to Drellin, Erston?”

Well, that was one way to deal with it. Better to at least scout out and figure some stuff out than to just not have any idea at all. Easy enough. It wasn’t like Gaius would hang him for trying to figure it out. Then again, thinking about it... Ludger probably didn’t know where to do because he himself was a chef. Who goes out to eat when you can cook for yourself?

“Very well,” he mused, his face easing up on the anger side. “Let us travel to Drellin. Perhaps there is something out there we can book for everyone. If not, then we shall have to think of another place. I suggest thinking of that just in case this doesn’t pan out.” This way, Ludger had some more time to mull over a back up plan and not have to think of a lie on the spot again. Truly a benevolent king.

She didn’t believe him, no matter how nice his words sounded. This was the king, and he of all of them seemed to dislike her the most. “…Hmph. They… If they got rid of me, they’d have to deal with Elle. She… She wouldn’t be happy if they killed me.” Of them all, Elle she was surest about. She wouldn’t ever want Milla to… to die. –Though it was going to happen sooner or later, she knew it in her bones. Eventually… someone would snap. “Anyway they’re not going to just kill someone in cold blood. It’s all right for them to destroy whole worlds, but they won’t do that.”

“Believe me when I say that no one wants to deal with Elle,” he mused, tone low in volume. Even though it was said jokingly, you could still tell he was very serious. “No one wants to kill you at all. I think you keep missing that. You’re so sure that we’re all against you, that we just want to get rid of you so we don’t have to worry about it anymore... as if we all don’t have conscious. Maybe if you opened your eyes and your heart for more than 5 seconds, you’d realize that we aren’t your enemies.”

Gaius wasn’t the one to make enemies if he could help it. Milla was afraid. She was angry. She was alone. He understood how she felt, and he knew why she was acting the way she was. “I want you to realize that.”

“Hmph. I saw everyone’s reactions when I arrived here. You weren’t there–they were shocked, and they definitely didn’t bring me here on purpose.” Hadn’t Alvin said something along the lines of, Why is that Milla here? “They thought everyone in that dimension would die, so they wouldn’t have to face what they’d done. Well they got me. What they see when they look at me isn’t the same as what I’d see if I looked in a mirror–” I am a mirror “–because every time they look at me, they see–you see–someone who’s way worse than what she should be. I’m not nearly as good as what you expect to see.” I always fail to measure up. It doesn’t matter though; they’ll kill me eventually anyways.

“Perhaps that’s true,” he starts, arms folding over his chest in his common indignant stance. “Perhaps they didn’t believe that they would have to deal with the consequences of their actions. But now they do. If they didn’t want to deal with it, then they would have taken the first chance to get rid of you. But they too, see that you are a person, Milla.” Eyes look to the side. “You are your own person. You have traits and quirks and attributes that no one else can take from you. You are here. And I assure you that we want to find a way so you can live in peace as well.”

“You’re ‘taking care’ of your own world at the expense of other ones! Those people in fractured dimensions are the same as the people in this world, but you’re just fine with killing them! Why the hell don’t you care?! Why the hell do you act like it’s as easy as ordering a meal?! And why the hell don’t you realize that you’re acting rash by just going along with it?! You aren’t thinking about it at all!”

“Do you truly believe that Ludger didn’t? Do you think that we didn’t?” Gaius’s eyes closed again, not wanting to stare at the woman. “Any loss of life is something I’d like to prevent. You try to save as many people as you can. Sometimes, that’s not everybody. If that’s not something you can live with, then maybe next time... no one gets saved.” Crimson eyes looked at her. “Look in a mirror. If we truly didn’t care, you wouldn’t be here right now.”

“Is this resentment because your world got destroyed? I’m sorry to inform you, but destroying other worlds just happens to coincide with taking care of my own.” He tilted his head. “Making hasty actions without deliberation on them makes things worse in the long run. My apologies that the rash child in front of me doesn’t understand that.”
