Weak against 'Leaf'? That was a new one.
Frankly, weaknesses and resistances were new to Flowey- at the very least, so listed out as such. Either way, it didn't take too many leaps of logic to understand what that might be symbolizing, and it simply cemented how utterly one-sided this fight will surely be. If he could, the boss monster would've felt bad for these ghosts. His attention focused in on Mask Guy now that the other's turn came, watching as they selected their skill with a slight quirk of brow. Really, none of them made any sense to him whatsoever, but Mask Guy picked it with certainty at least.
Watching the other's features seem to disappear was most certainly alarming, to say the least, and that only grew as their shadow seemed to gain shape and extend high above them. Not to mention some form of attack that, frankly, Flowey couldn't even process past the garbled static and the noise that made her wince. Jeez, and he thought he was a freak.
"Golly, pal, I'm startin' t' feel normal around here."
It doesn't matter either way, of course, as the other's eerie silence and black ichor really just meant they ought to speed this whole thing up. The last thing Flowey wanted to do was drag his new pal around by the scruff- or, really, have them die on him. So it was time to actually fight. It didn't take long to select the options, having apparently memorized their placement from just a glance. Vines subtly shifted out to jab into the ground, working with the dead dirt as vibrant golden flowers, complete with smiling almost cartoonish faces popped up from the ground around the ghost pirates.
Suddenly, they started lashing out with pellets and vines to Swarm them with nature damage.
Mask Guy didn't seem to pay much notice to Flowey's scrutinizing of the of the interface, busying himself looking between his video tapes, frowning with his eyes as he contemplated on a decision.
It's only when the Boss Monster looked at his abilities did Mask Guy seem to take a peek, the mask's sockets seeming to widen a tad- a subtle confirmation that he could see the UI, if one easy to miss with the other presumably distracted by his own choices.
Either way, he doesn't comment on it. The decision to check the enemy only being met with a nod, and...
CURSED PIRATE
A fog-wreathed zombie garbed in pale blue rags and bandanna. They carry a curved blade in their left hand.
The rather obvious description came accompanied by no stats, and instead a series of symbols indicating the pirate's apparent weaknesses and resistances. Specifically, it seemed to resist 'blood', and was weak against... leaf? For some reason...
A fortuitous coincidence, if violence is what's called for.
It was Mask Guy's turn now, with his own abilities tab being opened immediately... he has a good number of spells of his own, including a nature one, but the name didn't make it seem good for offense.
Eventually, he selects one, popping a tape into his camcorder, pointing it out towards the pirates, and then... the features of his mask just fade away, before being replace with a mouthless visage with crossed out eyes... followed by a figure rising out from the darkness of the falsely presumed human's shadow.
Higher, and higher, up to nine feet hunched over, the towering grayscale figure humming with static as it faced the two ghouls.
Mask Guy evokes the Tall Guy!
"[] [][][][] [][][] [][] [][][][][] [][]"
Awful garbage noise escape the entity, reality seeming to shudder at it's presence as it's flickering form reached out something towards the pirates... between the flickers, their ghostly forms could be seen stuttering painfully, not unlike the static of the 'Tall Guy' himself.
Both of the spirits taking a considerable amount of damage from the 'attack', before the entity disappeared back into Mask Guy's shadow... even if Mask Guy's mask did not return to it's normal expression.
It didn't seem to be the only thing left changed by the invocation, either... Mask Guy's posture was stock still an emotionless, less like his normal casualness and disconcertingly more akin to the being he'd just summoned, arms at his side and staring in silence.
Made all the odder when the pirates, recovering from their scrambling, lunged at him with their blades- each bringing their blades in slashes across his chest, spilling streaks of blood... but, not the red blood they'd spilled from him prior. Instead, their weapons drew inky black fluid from him that writhed on the ground.
Mask Guy not reacting to their blows in the slightest.
#it's still hopeless ;; asriel#flnalpower#Never mind that the damage over time might not even be needed with the sheer power difference-- ajsbdjksa

Flowey had just been about to comment on how getting there faster would be a relief, only to let out a little shocked noise as the battle started. Blinking as the layout was so fundamentally different that he can't help but stall to look at it in bewilderment. Popping out over his box to peer at his (rather high) stats, before squinting at the name there and looking over to Mask Guy's; then, finally, looking up at the selection of options.
"Golly," he began. "These guys sure know how t' pick 'em, eh?"
As far as he remembered, trying to simply hit ghosts was a lost cause, of course, but they were dealing with a rather magically-inclined being. ..And whatever the hell that Mask Guy was doing, of course. Either way, Flowey wasn't the least bit worried on having to deal with this himself if he so had to. Looking through his options, he truly was impressed at how this listed out his oh-so-many abilities. ..Really, having them laid out like this, Flowey realized just how many he truly had. Jeez. He actually had to scroll to see them all.
Granted, of course, not all of them were his, but that wasn't the point of the matter. He really wondered if Mask Guy could see the layout, truthfully, but to him it was clear as day. What would be the best move here, though...? May as well get a lay of the land.
*CHECK.
"Definitely not, no." He says with a shake of his head, looking the colorful club up and down. "Maybe I could if my friend was here, but she's off looking for her lost dog right now, so that's no good."
The suggestion of heading to Horrorvale instead makes Mask Guy nod and tap his chin, looking about the dirt parking lot they were standing in for a moment, before his gaze lands on something that immediately makes him perk up as an apparent answer hit him.
Walking towards an odd, spectral-looking bell sitting rather out of place amongst the vehicles and clubbers hanging about.
"We can catch a ride there, though! Will save us a whole lot of ti-"
CURSED PIRATES EMERGED!
His thought is suddenly cut off by two ghost skeleton... pirates(???) manifesting, and brandishing their sabers at the Spooktuber.
Something that only seemed to mildly annoy him.
"Hey, Alice already cleared this spot! Shoo!" He gives an insistent motion trying to get the ghosts to rattle off, only for them to take a swipe at his hand; a slight amount of blood being spilled.
Which, ever more strangely, only seems to make the man sigh and roll his eyes, pulling out his camera and a tape from his jacket.
"My apologies, this will only take a moment." Guy nods to Flowey, who'd unfortunately been dragged into the battle with him, as he messed with his 'weapon'. "People get territorial about the strangest things around here. Sometimes you've gotta give them the boot."

The other's reaction causes Asriel's grin to grow all the wider, clearly pleased with finally getting something out of Moonflower that wasn't the same hum-drum responses as before. That little stammer, the blush, and even the way that Moony quickly found himself looking away all enticed the lost prince in a way that he hadn't felt in awhile. It was finally something new, after all, so far be it from him to not want to continue down this path now.
Of course, his attention turned fully to the strange book in Moonflower's hands now as the topic was changed. It was a collection of fairytales? It almost sounded boring to her, really, until Moonflower brought up the contents of the book. If anything, that seemed to dredge something up from a long dormant corner of Asriel's mind. Inching close enough to press against the other's side to look at the book more properly.
"I remember this," she murmured, fidgeting with sweater absentmindedly. "We'd found it in the Dumps- rather, the royal scientist had, and gave it to Asgore since, y'know, kids."
He's looking at it intently now, gently looking over the cover as if confirming that she was thinking of the right book.
"He decided to pick a story at random to read one night for bed, only to not really parse how terrifying it was until he saw me shaking like a leaf under the covers. The second he tried to apologize, I cried so hard that Toriel burst in and bowled him clean over with how fast she did it."
Asriel scratches her chin, looking a touch embarrassed about the memory with the new light of his current situation.
"Needless to say, they tossed that pretty quick.. but, Chara dug it back up and would occasionally start reading one of them late at night. I don't know if it was to scare me or because they really were fascinated by the tales themselves."
It's only now that she realizes she's rambling, red hues flicking to Moonflower's face and then back down to the book with a sheepish laugh. Right, there had been a question there, that the memories had entirely steamrolled with their emergence.
"Um, sure, we can read a few."
moonflower hums happily as asriel sits with him, yes, but as he suddenly begins to scoot closer, the ex-prince blinks, once, twice--he stiffens a little in surprise, at the other's words that follow, 'so what if i am?', so forth, so on. normally, his expression would've been wrangled into something else, already. reaction covered up by a smirk, he'd tease back, but moony's struggling a bit to do so here, for some reason. 🍰 cheeks warm, as he stammers out a quiet, 'u, um--', he finally looks away. he instead fumbles with his book, almost knocking the thing out of his own lap, which he winces at, a bit. get it together! geez, just because he's laying it on all thick... he chides himself, gently. 🍰 " ...aha, well, anyway! my book! i no longer have access to a library, of course, but. sometimes, the garden whims bring gifts! nestled in between plant life-- " a nod, nod, he fidgets with the open book in his lap, a page between his fingers, absentminded. 🍰 " perhaps, it's strange to accept it so easily, but. it's rude most times, to reject something given outright, isn't it? " a light laugh, he's starting to calm, it seems. (for now!) 🍰 " it's a collection of old fairytales, which is quite fun. i got finished this version of the 'cinderella' story, just before you arrived. the step -sisters got their eyes pecked out by birds! " (he seems much too cheery, stating that fact. a little sparkly-eyed, even. but, this is moony we're talking about, the strange little thing...) 🍰 " ah, since you're here... maybe we could read a few together, if you'd like? if you're going to stay here for a little while, that is! " a smile, a tilt of the head. 🍰

It was one thing to properly scare someone, but the humiliation of someone pretending to be startled by Asriel was the most demeaning thing he could possibly imagine. So much so, that he simply did his best to forget that Moonflower had even suggested it so as to not get irritated by it more than he already was.
He had more important things to do, of course, as he saw Moony scoot to allow space for Asriel to sit beside him. Something they did with an idle huff of bemusement while they looked at the other. Watching as he teased about the previous day's antics.. something that did remind him, of course, of the way that Moonflower looked at Asriel after his words. It was the first time he'd ever seen the other flustered, after all...
"And what if I am, hm?" he teased back, inching closer to Moonflower and leaning all that bit closer now. "After all, I have to keep my eye on you, I'd hate for you to be suffering and I not be there to witness you wilt myself, my Moonflower."
A bit of a laugh, more filled with venom-dripped mirth than usual, as he turned his focus on the book.
"What are you reading, though? Didn't think they had a library in the middle of Nowhere."
moonflower can't help but playfully smile a bit wider at the other's annoy -ance, turning his head to try and mask his amusement, at least a little. 🍰 " ah, my apologizes! i guess i got a little excited, that's all... but, um. i can still pretend to be scared, if you so wish? " a teasing reply, the other's flowery form already tucked back into the ground by now. 🍰 moonflower waits patiently for the other to finish up, shifting, scooting over on the bench a bit, so asriel can join him proper, once he finally approaches. 🍰 " ah, i see! well, if it's anything, i'm very happy you decided to pass your time with me, then, you know! " he says, giving a bright smile, and brushing a bit of fur out of his own face, absentmindedly. 🍰 a beat, that grin temporarily turns into something a little more mis -chievous, as he adds, " --and, if i didn't know any better, i'd say you're trying to check on me, after that situation yesterday. but, surely not. " 🍰 a lighthearted roll of the eyes, before they settle back down, on his book in his lap, " oh, jokes aside... would you like to hear about my book, perhaps? " 🍰
