Something I really love from the core personal story of gw2 is recurring background characters. Like there's an asura named Elli who shows up during the asura personal story who uses holograms to commentate a golem fight. She'll also show up in chapter 3 of the sylvari story line doing the same thing for some illegal fighting matches in gendarran fields. And you can meet her again during the level 80 story line where you learn that a Whispers specialist named Agent Zott has helped her improve her holograms for battle and the two joined forces to fight Zhaitan in Orr, where they slowly developed feelings for each other. And then you have to watch Zott tragically die from the hands of an undead marksman, which leads a now grieving Elli to continue fighting Zhaitan in his honor. Oh, and during HoT you can even ask how she's doing and you'll learn that she left the Pact because she was disgusted by Scarlet's abuse of holomancy. And like??? She's not even a main character??? And there are so many other NPCs like her??? I mean there's two charr characters named Snarl and Galina who appear during the charr story, the vigil's lvl 60 story, AND the lvl 80 story who have a whole enemies to lovers thing going on and its adorable, the charr warband norn characters accidentally stole a tank from can be seen using their machines again in Orr, and a bunch of the original Order spokespeople for the races can be seen again throughout the story. I just love how, although the story revolves around the commander, you'll still find that there are so many other people on the same path as you. People who, just like you, have been inspired to change and grow, taking part in this seemingly impossible battle against the Elder Dragons. For such a small addition, it really helped make the world and its people seem so much more fluid and alive. i mean at least that's just what I think //

GW2 Adventurer Challenge - Remastered

So, since I'll be playing this again on stream, I figured I should rewrite this with some improvements

Immersion, roleplay, slowing down and smelling the roses, redicsovering your love for the game, especially the very, very old core game - think of it like a GW2 nuzlocke challenge. You're encouraged to take screenshots and keep an In-character diary! Use the #gw2adventurerchallenge tag or just tag me directly if you do!

Setup: - Make a new character. - Once you exit your starting instance, turn around and go to your capital city. Buy or craft a few buff food items, then return to your starting map.

THE RULES

Permadeath. If you fully die, the challenge is over. If you get rezzed, let your character rest for the rest of the (ingame) day.

No tomes, no WvW/PvP, no crafting except for cooking (and that not for levels, but to make buff food).

No mounts, except to jump/fly up to annoying Vistas you struggle with.

You can only waypoint if you stand near another waypoint. Asura Gates are allowed.

You must always be under the effects of buff food as soon as you can (I think the level requirement is at least 10)

During the ingame night cycle, you must find a place to shelter at (Lionguard haven, tavern, tent, little cave, whatever) and emote /sleep once

You must use outfits or spend transmutation charges to dress for the climate that you're in

The biggest changes here were the rules regarding level tomes (does it really make sense to play this if you can sit your ass down in a library and spam tomes?) and the nighttime rule (why on earth would I make you STOP playing during nighttime? Am I on crack?)

Hello again, it's time for another artfternoon but this time with an NA version as well!

Just like last time, this is about seeing what you can draw within the two hour time frame! Could be a full piece, could be little doodles for fun, screen editing, whatever you feel like <3

This is made to be a nice and chill experience, so get yourself a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit or two and settle down for some relaxing art

The theme this time around is Villains, as decided by a recent poll! This theme is just a suggestion to help people pick a character so don't feel you can't attend if you don't have a villain <3

The art party will be here, just south of the gentle river waypoint! It's an easy walk up the side of a little hill, where we'll be safe from any mobs or events!

The squad will have two groups, the second one for people that want to draw but don't want their characters to be drawn!

The EU tea time will be /sqjoin Valeria Báthory and the NA tea time will be hosted by my dear friend @skydrifter (as i do not have an NA commander tag) and will be /sqjoin Infiltrator Kionah

guild wars is an insane setting because it's a normal fantasy world but also the closest elf analogue that exists is humanity. what people would at first glance assume to be ""elves"" are actually just vaguely humanoid plant monsters made to serve an unbelievably ancient god-dragon that's also a living jungle and also all of the plant people are at maximum 25 years old because their entire species are basically collectively babies in terms of how long they've existed in-universe. also the orcs are giant cat people. the gnomes are rats. the dwarves are normal but also they're steadily going extinct and also all living rock people now. nobody even knows what a horse is
