crazy, sinful animal sex with post-prison spence đ©·
âoh! oh! oh, spence!â the rhythmic plap-plap-plap of skin against skin echoed through the room, along with your pitchy and warbled moans.
spencer had you in missionary, one hand tangled in your hair and the other pinning your hand to the pillow beside your head. he ploughed his hips into yours, driving his cock deep inside of you.
your hips began to buck, your cunt squeezing around his length. he let go of your hand to deliver a sharp smack to your cheek.
âfucking stay still.â he grunted, grasping your cheeks and pushing them together until your lips formed a messy, drooling pout.
he drove his cock to the hilt, stilling as he manhandled your legs to his liking and ignoring your needy whimpers. again, he ignored your cry of pain as he pushed your thighs to your chest and held them down with his large hands before beginning to fuck you again.
âspence-e-e-er!â
cum gushed from your cunt, spraying over spencerâs cock and pelvis. he grinned, slapping your clit to deliver more of your spend as he watched your pussy soak itself in its own juices. still drilling into your hole, he ran his fingers up and down your folds to collect the liquid from yourself before stuffing his fingers in your mouth. his grin only grew as you began sucking on your fingers and your eyes rolled back.
âdirty little girl.â

_______________
It was pretty late into the night, it was the first weekend in weeks that the team was able to really enjoy. Spencer sat in a corner of his apartment, a glass of whiskey sat on the table as he flipped the pages of a book heâs read a thousand times before, albeit it was one of favorites.Â
He was hesitant to call, he didnât want to pull you away from enjoying your weekend but when it came to his pleasure, he put himself first. You were always too nice to say no to him and he knew that. It made him feel sleazy sometimes, but this was who he was now. Rugged, damaged, fucked up. Heâd been through a lot. But in those moments where you squirmed and whined beneath him, he felt satiated. You were his drug now.Â
âHello?â he mumbled when the call picked up.
âSpencer,â your voice was a whisper as you practically sang his name.
âYouâre awake,â he said.
âYes,â you responded.
âItâs a little late donât you think?â he poked.Â
âThen why are you calling?âÂ
You knew why he was calling. He only ever wanted one thing from you when the sky was dark. You didnât mind it though. You basked in it. You kind of liked it. The feeling of having sex without commitment. Your job didnât give you enough time for a commitment. You didnât feel humiliated or belittled by Spencerâs desires. In fact, his lust for you turned you on in most cases. Most.Â
Spencer was still a good friend to you. Regardless of sleeping with him, he was your closest friend. And recently, you noticed changes in him. Maybe youâve kept a closer eye on him more than before but you were a little concerned. You had the right after everything heâs been through. He seemed more tired than usual, even though he was still punctual with work. Although you didnât sleep in his bed after every time you slept together, when you did, you pretended not to notice his exits and long absences in between the long hours of the night. You could barely hear his ever so quiet footsteps roaming the living room. The clanking of coffee mugs in the kitchen and his quiet âShitâ when he thought he was being too loud.
Three subtle knocks rapped his door, so quiet Spencer wouldâve missed if he had breathed just a bit louder. A grin spread across his face subconsciously, glancing at the clock before taking long strides to the door. It was almost midnight. You stood in the doorway with heavy eyes, not the drunk kind, but the tired kind. He moved aside to let you in. Just like last time; and all the other times you showed up at his door for him.Â
âI thought you went out tonight,â he questioned, rhetorically.Â
âI did. For a bit,â you told him, âI just had one drink, then went home.â
âWhat are you doing up so late?â you asked, you already know the answer. And Spencer knows you know too, though he tried at first to be more subtle in his nightly fixtures. He simply sighed with amusement. You set your things down on his couch, eyes adjusting to the dim lights that hardly lit the room. The glass sitting on the table in the corner caught your eyes though.Â
âWhat are you drinking?â you asked.
âUh, whiskey. Neat.âÂ
âEw, why?â you joked.
âItâs not that bad,â he shrugged. A whiskey wouldnât exactly be Spencerâs first choice of drink but then again his first choice of drink wouldnât even be alcohol. If it was, he would probably be content with a beer, or something of the sort. He was sort of going through a phase during nights. He was sleeping a lot less too.Â
âI just didnât take you for a whiskey kind of guy,â you teased.
âWhat kind of guy did you take me for?â he poked; he wasnât really talking about drinks anymore though.Â
âWater,â you joked, making him laugh.Â
Spencer stood before you now. His hands were slightly hesitant this time to rest on your hips.Â
âIs everything ok, Spencer?â you asked him.Â
âYes,â his voice was a whisper.Â
You didnât believe him, but you knew better than to press him. He was a stubborn guy and whether you did or didnât you werenât going to get an answer. You slid your hands up his chest before cupping the back of his neck with your hands. The kiss was chaste. You didnât want to sleep with him if he was having second thoughts.
âAre you sure? If youâve changed your mind I can head hom-,â you were telling him.
âNo, donât,â he rushed out.Â
âIâm fine; I just havenât been sleeping well,â he confessed. This surprised you, not because you didnât know, but because you didnât think he would tell you.Â
âWell, then maybe I should go. That way you can finally get to bed before the sun comes up for once,â you joked with him, âBesides, youâre the one who's always telling people how important sleep is to the human body.â
Your words shocked Spencer this time. Admittedly, in the back of mind he suspected that you could sense him leaving his bed, or your bed sometimes, and that one or more times heâd been a little loud dwindling in the next room. But he didnât realize you were fully aware of his nightly escapades. You knew him too well. You were too sweet to him. Spencer knew after all the fucked up things heâs been through he didnât deserve your friendship; or anything more despite the fact.
âDid you know that elephants sleep the least of any other animal?â he told you, he doesnât know why. Maybe to distract you, or seduce you. Both outcomes came often enough for him to make it a guessing game.
âYouâre not an elephant.â
And then there were the ultra rare times when neither outcome happened; just now being one of them.Â
âSleep deprivation has been associated with reduced sexual desire and arousal,â he tried again.
âWell, I can help with that,â you teased. There we go.
He leaned down to kiss your lips but you pulled back in tease, smile on your face; you knew how pussywhipped you had this man. He didnât want to fight it, he was growing desperate for you with every passing second. Rolling his eyes, he dipped his head in the crook of your neck. His hands left your hips, pulling you closer to him from your waist and lower back. Your hands began to unbutton his shirt, he was still wearing the clothes you saw him working in earlier that day.Â
You stopped him, never been one to have sex anywhere other than the bedroom, taking his hand already knowing where to go after doing so many times before already. Although, it wasnât like his apartment was a confusing labyrinth. He followed you like always.Â
You reached the edge of the bed, sitting instinctively. Your hand went straight to his belt, undoing it with ease. Spencer pulled your hands away from his hips before sinking to his knees to the ground. He pulled your hips to the very edge, scratching the skin as he desperately pulled at your pants bringing them down your legs. Of course you let him.
He pushed you back and you fell on your elbows, still able to see him so clearly. See him dip his head and kiss the skin on the inside of your knee, his eyes lingering on yours. You let your head go for a second, basking in the feeling of his lips. They always made you feel so warm and tingly. One thing about Spencer, he loved foreplay. All the little things that lead up to sex. Most of the time, he craved the foreplay more than the sex itself.Â
He moved your legs over his shoulders, his arms wrapping around your thighs, his hands holding your hips. His nose ran along your inner thighs. Your skin erupted in goosebumps at the feeling of his warm breath coming from his nose. His fingers fiddled against your hip bones and you wiggled a bit becoming desperate by the minute for something more than just this teasing.
âSpence,â you whined, looking back at him.
âIt doesnât matter how many times we do this, youâll never learn patience will you?â Spencer bartered.Â
âSpencer, I donât come to you to learn patience,â you spat, not with any malice however.
âYou wonât come at all with that attitude,â he snapped back, hiding a grin between your legs.Â
âSpencer!â you gasped.
He chuckled lowly, bringing his hand between your thighs, pulling your underwear to the side to expose you to him. You were glistening, slick beginning to leak from you already. Spencer could feel himself getting hard. He precariously tried to not buck his hips into the bed like horny teenager. Â
âFuck,â he whispered under his breath.Â
He stepped up quickly letting your legs drop harshly. His fingers curled over the hem of your underwear pulling them down and tossing behind his shoulder before returning to his previous position. He felt like he was possessed. Acting and moving like it was primal, instinctive. He wanted nothing more in this moment than to satisfy you.Â
He kissed all the places except the place you needed the most. You curled your toes anticipating his next move, longing for his lips, tongue, fingers, anything to bring you pleasure. Just when you were about to sit up, ready to nag at him, his lips wrapped around your bud.Â
Your shoulders gave out at the feeling. Your body electrifying instantaneously. Your eyes trained on the ceiling, focusing on everything about Spencer in this moment, the sounds, his touch, his tongue. His tongue dipping in you every now and then, making you moan feverishly. His hands spread out, pinning your hips down to the bed to try and get you to stop wiggling your hips, but he wasnât too successful in that.Â
âKnock it off,â he groaned, removing a hand wrapped around your leg to bring his fingers to your entrance.
âItâs not enough; I need more,â you whined.
âNo, you want more,â he debuted, âYouâre being greedy.â
âAnd youâre being mean,â you quipped, you always had something to retort.
âOk, fine,â he stood up.
âStop!â you whined, âPlease, come back. Do whatever you want.â
âI will,â he sat on his knees again, instantly bringing his fingers up to rub slow circles that made your toes curl.Â
He purposefully let them every now and then prod at your entrance make your hips jerk in surprise. He could see how wet you were, all of the slick telling him how needy you were. He looked up to look at your face. His eyes catching your nipples peeking through the fabric of your shirt from the pleasure already, smiling to himself.Â
âSexual arousal can cause an increase in blood flow to not just female genitalia, but also the breasts,â he told you, feeling your thighs squeeze ever so slightly.
âIs that your way of telling me my nipples are hard because of you?â you teased.
âYes,â he stated before diving straight back between your thighs.Â
His tongue did circles like his fingers, the wetness and warmth much more stimulating than before. His fingers slid inside you, curling when he couldnât push them any further. You moaned out, reaching your hand down to comb your fingers through Spencerâs shaggy hair. The noises of everything bounced off the walls of Spencerâs shallow bedroom. It sounded vulgar but so sexy. Your heavy breathing practically syncing together.Â
Your thighs squeezed more and more as you got closer to your climax; you didnât care if you were suffocating Spencer. If he died, he died pleasuring you and neither of you minded it in this moment. Your hips grinding against his tongue chasing you release frantically. Spencer pumped his fingers in and out of you rapidly, leading you to ecstasy.Â
Your breaths became shaking, as did your moans. You were overcome with pleasure as your orgasm hit you so suddenly. You could feel Spencerâs smile growing against you, you knew that he wasnât going to withdraw despite reaching your climax.Â
âOh god, too much, Spence.âÂ
âFirst it was not enough, now itâs too much?â he taunted you, fingers still pumping in and out you strenuously.Â
âSpence!â you wailed, your voice trembling embarrassingly.Â
When he wouldnât give out, you pulled at his hair as you sat up and pulled his mouth away from between your thighs.Â
âOh ow, ow, ow!â he whined.Â
âJesus, you were gonna give me a heartache,â you whined.Â
âActually the possibility of having a heart attack during sexual activity is exceedingly low. So you wouldnât have had anything to worry about; if anything you would get a small headache,â he explained.Â
âYouâre giving me a headache,â you whined, making him laugh. Â
You pulled him from the back of his neck, crashing his lips against yours. You loved to kiss Spencer. You always felt the closest to him physically when you kissed. Which is ironic since he was quite literally inside you most nights. Kissing, the art of kissing, was practically your love language. You always gave small pecks when you were together, privately of course.Â
Spencer was worried at first, that kissing was too intimate that things would complicate fast and feelings would get hurt. But as time went on and things continued to stay normal between you, he just began to relish in it rather than worry about nothing. At least thatâs what heâs convinced himself of.Â
He suddenly remembered the first time you slept together. You were in his apartment one night going over some details of the case. Nothing so major, or frightening, but something wasnât adding up. You decided to take a break, cracking open some beers and just talk. One beer became two, then three, then four and then suddenly bottles littered the pitiful coffee table in front of you. You were very clear with him, âI donât just sleep with anybody.â But you were a woman with needs just as much as Spencer was a man, âNeither do I.â
âThings have to stay the way they are if we do this,â he told you that night.
âThey will,â you assured him.Â
You rested your forehead against his seeing his eyes seem different. Spencer always did this. Everytime, just for a minute or even a second, he would disappear behind his eyes, like he was reminiscing on a memory you couldnât describe.Â
âYou did that thing again,â you said with a small grin on your face.Â
âI know,â he blushed, âSorry.â
âYou ever gonna tell me what youâre thinking about when you do that?â you questioned.
âNope,â he smirked, making you giggle.Â
Spencer stood straight up shagging his shirt off before scrambling out of his pants. He crawled back over you settling his hips between your thighs as he dipped his head down to attach his lips to your neck. Your hand curled around his neck, sliding your fingers through his hair as his breath and lips tickled your skin. Your hips fit together snuggly, grinding against desperate to chase each otherâs highs.
Spencer reached into the drawer beside your head to pull out a condom. You snatched it from his hands with a devilish smirk on your face tearing it with your teeth. You spat the foil corner from your mouth, pulling the condom from its package before tossing it aside. You reached between your bodies stroking Spencer. His face blushing red, contorting with pleasure as itâs the first of the night to feel some sort of friction he needed from the beginning. The reason he called you in the first place.Â
Spencer let his hands trace your skin. Though you wouldnât react, your skin erupted in goosebumps. Feeling him prodding against your entrance, your breath hitched, your heart skipping a beat. You always anticipated this part. No matter how many times you and Spencer spent the night together, you couldnât ever get used to the flips your stomach made at this time.Â
Spencer pushed his hips into you, his length stroking your walls making your hum in delight. Spencerâs breath became heavy as he pulled out just enough before rutting back in you with skill. Your face began to feel hot as Spencer began to find a good rhythm. You could feel the sweat building on your forehead, the air cold against your scalp.Â
You looked at Spencerâs face; the veins bulging from his forehead and his neck. You cupped his cheek with your hand, catching his rhythm with your hips. Your breath became heavy, your hums became moans. Spencer wasnât exactly the most vocal lover you laid with. Not that Spencer was your lover of course. Thatâs not what you meant.
âWhatâs going on in that pretty little brain?â Spencerâs voice took you from your sudden trance; his pace beginning to slow. He brought his hand to your face, pulling the stray hairs that stuck to your cheeks from your sweat away.
âNothing, just donât stop,â you sighed, pulling his lips down to yours again.Â
Spencer picked up his pace again, the sound of skin slapping echoing in the room. You felt overcome with an ambitious heat throughout your body. You pushed Spencerâs shoulders up trying your best to cool down without stopping your chase to your high. Spencer sat on his knees gripping your hips, practically ramming his hips into yours. Your back arched and you gripped the sheets beneath you.Â
âOh god, fuck,â you cried out. Your thighs squeezing Spencerâs torso as you began to get closer to your climax.Â
âShit, itâs like I canât get enough no matter how many times I have you squirming beneath me,â he gloated.Â
You could see Spencer's chest begin to get red, his knuckles however turning white. Your hands reached down gripping his wrists. Prying them away, before sitting up to straddle his legs, as they stretched forward, adjusting comfortably. You held on to his shoulders sturdily, finding an entirely new rhythm to chase your high.Â
Spencerâs hands ran up your back, sliding under your shirt that you had yet to take off. No wonder you were overwhelmed with heat. He peeled the tight fabric from your skin, tossing it to the ground like he has so many times before. He unhooked your bra with ease, his eyes instantly trained to your chest. He couldnât help his hands following, massaging the soft skin. Spencer looked up to you as you bounced up and down. Sweat dripping seductively down the valley of your breasts.Â
âYouâre so pretty,â Spencer whispered, staring up at you.
âI know,â you joked breathlessly, giving him a playful wink.Â
Spencer let out a breathy laugh at that. The both of you were itching for a release now. Your bodies squirming against one another, aching to give the other the release. You leaned back placing your hands on his thighs, moving your hips faster and harder than before.Â
âSpencer, Iâm getting close, I feel it,â you whimpered, âPlease tell me youâre close too.â
âIâm close,â he breathed out.
âFuck,â you cried.
âCome on, sweetheart. Let go,â Spencer mused, he reached between you two, fingers circling quickly between your thighs to bring you to climax even faster.
You gasped out, chest heaving as you felt the waves of pleasures wash over you suddenly. You couldnât help the loud moans escaping from you as you threw your head back; arched back and thighs tensed. Spencerâs hand held your body close to himself, and you curled forward wrapping your arms around his head as you climaxed indefinitely. Spencer grunted below you, his legs stiffening and jerking upward. Curses whispered from his lips.Â
âOh, shit,â you gasped, relaxing and slumping your body over Spencer.Â
âTreat me good, like always,â he whispered, his hand coming briefly to stroke your hair gently.Â
He rolled you over, laying you lazily on his bed before climbing out of the bed swiftly. He stumbled his way to dispose of the rubber. He grabbed a small towel from a drawer along with something to cover himself. He sat silently on the edge of the bed, gently cleaning you as your eyes slowly blinked, telling him you were exhausted.Â
âYou want to stay the night? I can see how tired you are.âÂ
âIâll be gone first thing in the morning,â you quipped with a small grin on your face.Â
Spencer laid beside you, covering your body with the blankets. You curled by his side, your leg falling over his hips. He turned the lights out, but the soft golden glow from the lights in the room next door streamed in. His arm wrapped around you, fingers softly stretching your back. Steady breaths against his chest gave him a sense of comfort. He was always a bit jealous how easily sleep came to you; how peaceful you looked when you did. Spencer tried to close his eyes. He tried to let rest wash over him like a blanket. What felt like seconds was an hour. And another hour. He peeked at his watch laying on the nightstand beside him, three oâclock the time read.Â
Sighing, he sneaked out of bed, careful to not wake you. He skulked towards the kitchen, eyeing the small glass of whiskey still on the table. He couldnât help smirk to himself over it. He opened the cabinet grabbing a mug, pouring a bitter liquid into it. He took a big swig of his favorite beverage, basking in all the flavors, when suddenly a beautiful figure stood before him.Â
âHey,â his voice was quiet.Â
âIâm guessing you havenât slept,â you tiptoed your way to him, you could hear him sighing.Â
âIs there anything at all I can do to help you?â you whispered, carefully placing your hand on Spencerâs warm back.Â
âNo, but having you here is enough.â
You were beginning to blur the lines between your arrangement and your friendship. But neither you nor Spencer could muster up the courage to stop what youâve started. Spencer indulged in your sweetness, the way you were always there to satiate his desires, the way you opened yourself to him like heavenâs gate. And you, well you would never admit it. Being in love with Spencer that is. Youâve known him for years; seen the best parts of him and helped him through the worst. You knew him the best of anyone youâve known before. And he could say the same too. Heâs never opened up to anyone as much as he has to you.Â
You were perfect for each other. And yet, Spencer wouldnât allow himself to bask in it. He truly believed he didnât deserve you. That all the demons that haunted him in these dark hours were undeserving of your kindness, compassion, gentleness. Simply thinking about you was often enough to calm him in tense situations. But he would never tell you this. So here he was, standing in the kitchen with his coffee black at three in the morning wondering why you couldnât see that he would never be enough for you.Â

She blinded me with science || [Spencer Reid X Goth!reader]
A/N: self indulgent little fic here. I have been in a writing slump for a few weeks and needed to do something just a little self indulgent. So we have this which has been on my mind for ever. I love Abby Sciuto from NCIS and thought how fun it would be to see our little nerd fall in love with the alternative lab rat of the FBI. This is not proof read or anything so it might not be the absolute best but I just wanted to put something out here again.
WC: 1737
Tags: fluff, crush, first meeting, love at first sight possibly, multiple parts, opposites attract, self indulgent fic, reader is described as female, reader is alternative
Warnings: Mention of human remains.
Read part 2 here, read part 3 here
The music coming from the lab was muffled. Even through the closed door Spencer could hear the barely legible lyrics as he got closer and closer. As he reached the door and knocked there seemed to be no answer. Certain his knocking wouldnât be heard over the noise that he now recognized as Siouxsie and the banshees. He opened the door. As soon as the barrier between him and the music was lifted it sounded so clear. It was turned up to 11 and he wondered how anyone could even focus with music that loud.
That was until he saw you, swaying along to the music, the white coat exaggerated the movements. Swishing from side to side as you reach for a pasteur pipette while bobbing your head along to the music. You seemed absorbed in the music, focussed on your work leaning over the bench and carefully dripping a clear substance on a piece of paper while still perfectly on beat with the music. Spencer cleared his throat loudly, hoping to make himself known before he interrupted you in whatever you seemed to be doing. Though it didnât quite reach the decibel level to alert you. âL/Nâ he called out your last name but once again no response. So he took a few steps closer. Once Spencer was close enough he reached out and softly tapped your shoulder. You jumped in response, whirling around in shock with the pipette in your hands raised like a weapon. Like somehow you would be able to defend yourself with the lab instrument. A yelp falling from your lips.Â
âOh my god! Canât you knock!â You accused, eyes wide as you placed your free hand on the top of your chest, taking a deep breath. âI did. I also tried to clear my throat to not scare you.â Spencer retorted, his voice raised a little louder so you could hear him over the music. You twirled around, placing the pipette in the holder. âIâm Doctor Reid, from the BAU.â He continued loudly. You turned, holding your left hand up to shush him. Your right fishing the remote from your coat pocket. It gave Spencer some time to look you over.Â
Your lab coat was about the only light thing you wore. The outfit underneath was black on black on black. A band tee with illegible writing that peeked over a corset, layered with a ripped fishnet top underneath. The abundance of necklaces of all different lengths, cascading down your neck like silver waterfalls. Ripped jeans he wasnât quite sure were safe for the lab environment, but the skin of your thigh caught his attention. Something inside of him stirring. He fidgeted with his hands in front of his body.
âSo⊠you were saying?â You spoke. Spencerâs eyes snapped back to your face. You looked up at him with big eyes, a small smile accompanying them. The music was turned down now giving him room to think. Though your eyes still made it difficult to really focus. âOh, I am Doctor Reid, from the BAU.â He answered after swallowing for a moment. âAh! You are here for the clothing analysis, right? Penelope mentioned one of the team would come pick it up. Normally it's her or Derek, though I think Derek has complained about hearing loss.â You whirled around while rambling on, pony tail waving behind as you turned, bounding over to a table with scattered papers. Spencer followed close behind, not focussing on the words rather just the tone of your voice, a slight intrigue towards you. He didnât even know your first name, yet somehow your mannerisms, your unconventional style, it made him want to know more. âRight.â He said, realizing he hadnât technically answered your questions.Â
Spencer looked over your shoulder as you picked up a stack of papers neatly stapled together. He thought he might be a bit too close as he could smell the subtle perfume wafting off of you. Though he also strangely enjoyed it. It was sweet but not overly so. A hint of cherry that was fitting in his eyes. The color of the fruit matching that of your lipstick. As you looked over the paper and began to talk again, âSo, the substance that was on the clothes seems to be turpentine. Commonly used in oil painting. The vapors can already cause irritation to the eyes, skin, and airways if exposed to them for longer periods of time.â you rambled off the words as you read them. âThere were some other things found on the clothes that coincide with the oil painting. Different pigments and paint residue.â You turned, eyes still on the paper nearly bumping into Spencer as he had been standing so close. When you looked up at him surprised he could feel a tightening in his chest. âOops, sorry.â You apologized, a small smile on your lips.
You apologized to him while he was the one in your way. âOh it was my fault. Shouldnât have stood so close. Sorry.â He muttered. The words falling from his lips unceremoniously. He felt like half of his intelligence had up and left his brain as he talked to you. Not really knowing what to say at that moment. His hands fidgeted at his sides again. His left hand playing with the hem of his cardigan sleeve. He cursed himself internally for being reduced to a stumbling mess in front of you. You kept standing there though. Clearly you had turned around to go somewhere and Spencer had been in your way. Yet he was nailed in place and so, it seemed to him, were you. âDid you know they used to make oil paints with human remains?â You spoke excitedly. Like you had been waiting to tell someone, anyone, that little fact. He knew that. He knew that for a long time yet seeing you, tell him a fact with such delight, made him want to lie. âNow I do.â He answered, his smile matching yours.
âIt was called mummy brown. They ground up mummies, both human and animal, and put it in the paint.â You continued. Your voice trailing off slightly after the word animal. You held up the stack of papers to him. âEverything you need is in there. If you need me to clarify something just give me a call. Or stop by whenever you want.â Spencer nods after your sentence. Taking the papers from you his hand touched yours ever so slightly. His brain short circuited for a moment before the neurons started firing accordingly again. âI eh- I donât have your number.â he stumbled over the words.
As if you realized that in that moment you took a step aside and walked past him. Walking over to a desk and rummaging through a drawer. Spencer walked a bit closer to your desk. No longer being nailed in place by some unspeakable force. You pulled out a thin sharpie, and Spencer raised a brow ever so slightly at that. You walked back over, holding out your hand to grasp his. Spencer placed his hand in yours. His mouth felt incredibly dry for a moment. His tongue was uncomfortable in his mouth. His heartbeat raced faster. Nothing like he had ever really felt before. You could have done it on the papers, or maybe even a sticky note. Yet you decided that his hand would be the perfect place to write down your number. He thought about it for a moment, your hand was soft and warm. You twisted his hand, writing down your phone number along with your name. Once you finished you let go off his hand. Spencer looked at the black numbers, committing them to memory, and your name. God your name would be bouncing around his head for days. âY/N.â He said, testing the name. It felt right.
âThatâs me, you better put that in your phone. These markers are not nearly as permanent on skin. Itâs the oils.â You went on, capping the marker as you spoke. âI will. Thank you.â Spencer said and smiled. He stayed standing in place for another moment. Trying to commit you to memory just in case his eidetic memory failed him. He realized he was staring a little and cleared his throat. âI eh⊠I have to go.â pointing his thumb to the door. You giggled a little, a sound that made Spencerâs cheek heat up a little. âRight, pretty boy, head on out. I need to get back to work too.â You smiled casually. Spencerâs face was only heating up more. He swallowed. The nickname the others used for him sounded so much better when it came from you. He turned around to hide his ever heating face from your sight, walking over to the door quickly. Once in the opening he quickly looked back, giving an awkward wave that you returned with a smile.Â
When Spencer entered the bullpen his face had calmed down a little. Not feeling nearly as hot as before. He was able to think clearly again, but when he looked at your number and name on his hand he felt giddy inside. Reaching his desk he sat down, placing the analysis file on his desk. âThat took you long enough, pretty boy.â Derek called out from his desk, humor in his voice. The nickname had no effect when he said it. âSorry, the lab tech⊠she was explaining some things to me.â Spencer quickly lied. âAlright, can I get the file?â Derek had his hand already out. Spencer gave him the file and Derekâs brows raised at the number scribbled on his hand. âYou got her number?â He smirked. Spencer pulled his hand back covering the numbers and your name with his other hand. âIf something needed more clearing up.â He retorted. Derek merely chuckled at his awkwardness, âSheâs friends with Garcia, you wouldnât have needed her phone number.â He added with a smirk. Spencer felt his face heat up a little again, embarrassed. He knew that. He knew that he had known that. But in that moment he couldnât think.
He looked back at his hand. Your name on his skin. A little flutter in his chest kicked up when he did. Derek cleared his throat, making Spencer look up again. Derek pointed at him with his pen, before opening his mouth. âYou better call her soon.â

Don't Blame Me Ch 2
Joe Velasco x reader
Warnings: language, minor mentions of negative histories, major fluff otherwise!
Every year when the weather began to pick up in springtime you always opted to spend as much of your time outdoors, even if it was at night or it made your commute a little bit longer. Traffic in the city was bad enough most days, if you could swap that for a subway ride and a walk it helped clear your head and got some exercise in. You preferred it that way, able to change your direction at the last minute, pop into a shop or bodega without a second thought about parking, and there was something calming about being out in the fresh air.
Tonight you were hungry but couldnât quite put your finger on what it was you were craving, wandering the aisles of the bodega until you finally huffed with defeat and picked up a bag of chips for the rest of the walk home. Half a block later you passed an all night pizza joint, bustling full with people whoâd left he clubs early, teetering over each other as they the grease started to soak up all the booze in their stomachs. Lord knows youâd nursed enough hangovers with New York pizza, you were glad you wouldnât have to be doing that in the morning. You tossed the now empty chip bag into the bin and turned down the next block that was mainly bars, bass still echoing into the streets. You felt your phone start to buzz in your bag and your lips split into a grin when Joseâs name was flashing across the screen.
âHey stranger.â You answered.
âHey yourself. I was gonna apologize for it being so late but it sounds like youâre out on the town.â
âWorked late,â you laughed, âIâm just on my way home.â
âHow about a pit stop? I canât stop thinking about you, Iâd love to buy you a drink.â
âYou knowâŠâ you tugged your lip into your mouth as you waited for a light to change, your stomach growling again and wondered if the slight shift would send him looking for an excuse, âIâve got a hankering for pancakes right now. You got a place for that?â
âAbsolutely.â He chuckled, âwhere abouts are you?â
âJust around the corner from Fordham station.â
âIâll pick you up there in five.â
âAlright. See ya.â
Smiling, Joe hung up the phone, swinging his keys around his finger while he waved goodnight to his friends, quickly slipping into the drivers seat. He was likely less than five minutes away from where youâd been, which was another reason his mind was telling him that this is exactly the impulse he was supposed to be following tonight. Heâd hoped heâd be able to rope you into a drink, but a meal at this hour was even better, it meant a quieter environment, and a longer interaction. He pulled up to the station, parking the car and getting out so you could find him properly, leaning against the vehicle while he waited. He spotted you first, completely unaware you were in his eyeline as you waited to cross the street. You were a little more casual tonight, capri leggings and tank top, a small bag thrown over your shoulder and your hair pulled back into a ponytail. As soon as you crossed the street he stepped away from the car and into your eyeline, happy at the way a smile broke out on your face.
âHey.â You greeted, shivering slightly when he leant in to kiss your cheek softly.
âHey.â His hand rubbed up and down your back, âare you not freezing?â
âNo.â You straight up lied as your body betrayed you, shivering again and he chuckled, opening the back door and digging around in the back seat.
âYouâre gonna get sick if you keep going out at night without a coat.â Reappearing from the car he had a hoodie in hand, passing it to you, âhere.â
You took the hoodie from him, tugging it over your head you couldnât help but let out a small groan, it was the perfect level of warm, fuzzy and it still smelt like him. âOh you are never getting this back.â
âSheâs a thief now, remind me to lock up my valuables.â He teased and you rolled your eyes, stepping toward the passenger door when he guided you to it, opening it for you to get in. He waited until you were tucked into the car before shutting it behind you and circling around to get in the driverâs seat.
âWho knew such a gentleman would take up with a lowly thief.â You teased back, earning a laugh from him.
âYeah?â He raised a brow, a gleam in his eye as he suddenly leant over the middle console, one hand braced on it the other caging you into your seat and you were suddenly lost for any more teasing, your breath caught in your throat. âEven thieves have to do up their seatbelts.â He quickly pecked your cheek pulling a semi awkward giggle from you as he settled back in the driverâs seat.
His hand remained on your thigh for the drive across the borough, thumb stroking your leg every so often. You were surprised with just how comfortable the music filled silence was, it didnât feel like you were strangers who had just met, it felt like youâd known each other a lifetime already. There was a comment every so often, a little bit of back and fourth before he was pulling into a parking lot of an all night diner.
After opening your door for you he took your hand, leading you inside, the bell above the door jingling when it opened. It was exactly what youâd expect for a twenty four hour diner, though the lights were dimmed a little bit to make things more comfortable after the midnight hour. Joe waved a friendly greeting to the woman behind the counter, paused for a brief fist bump with a couple of the bussers and nodded in greeting to a couple of guys in the corner table before leading you to a booth.
âI take it you come here often?â You asked, picking up the menu from the end of the table.
âYou gotta know the people in the neighbourhood, good for business.â
âMakes sense.â You opened the menu, flipping to the breakfast pages, âso whatâs the best to get here?â
âYou still want pancakes?â He asked with a grin and you nodded, âtheyâve got banana walnut, Nutella stuffed, banana and strawberry topped, chocolate chip, blueberry, or cranberry apple cinnamon.â
âWhat if I want Nutella stuffed pancakes also topped with banana and strawberry?â
âI just knew you were gonna go for that.â He chuckled, âget âem with bacon and sausage, just trust me.â
âYou just know all the secrets donât you?â
He chuckled again, grinning across the table as you glanced back down at the menu and he felt a warmth bloom through his chest at the sight of you in his hoodie. You looked unbelievably cozy and he was starting to wish you were curled up in his lap rather than around yourself. Before he could get too lost in his daydream you were thankfully interrupted by your server.
âJoseâŠâ the woman reached out, pinching at his cheek, âbeen a while since Iâve seen you.â
âYouâve been stuck on day shift.â He protested with a laugh, âyou know my sleep schedule doesnât allow that. Hey, howâs the knee?â
âBetter, thanks to you.â She smiled down at him, âactually managed that 5k Hayley was so insistent on.â
âI told you.â He grinned.
âI mean, had to walk half of it, but sheâs still proud of me, remind me to show you pictures later. Now, I never know at this hour, is it a coffee night or a beer night?â She asked and Joe looked over at you, nudging your foot under the table.
âYou wanna beer?â
âI---â you stalled with a laugh, flipping between two of the drink pages of the menu, âthis is gonna make me sound like Iâm a teenager, but is there anyway I can do a coke float with a shot of vanilla vodka?â
âCourse honey.â She smiled down at you, âand donât let him tease you about it either.â She swatted at Joeâs arm, âheâs one of our biggest consumers of chocolate milkshakes with baileys.â
âOh câmon.â He laughed, âyou guys canât team up on me.â
âSounds like we just did.â You smirked from across the table and he playfully rolled his eyes.
âHelen, this is y/n.â Joe introduced, ây/n, Helen.â
âItâs nice to meet you.â You replied with a smile.
âYou too. Donât let this one drive you wild.â She turned back to Jose, âsheâs pretty, and smart. Donât fuck it up.â After the warning she turned back to both of you, âIâll be back with your drinks.â
âI didnât order a drink.â Joe muttered and you laughed.
âLooks like youâre getting a milkshake.â
You were right of course, Helen coming back a few minutes later with exactly that and your float, she took your food orders and then disappeared off to deal with the rest of her tables.
âAre you from the city?â Joe asked.
âBorn and raised in Queens.â You nodded, âlived in a little townhouse with my mom, her best friend and her two girls.â
âNot a lot of space for five people.â
âNot at all. Basically no privacy. Thankfully once I hit thirteen they let me move into the basement. Sharing a room with the laundry was better than sharing with my mom.â
âWhenâd you move out?â
âSoon as I could. Graduated high school and never looked back.â
âDad not around?â He asked and when you looked up at him you could see the careful curiosity in his eyes.
âNope. Never met him, mom had a couple of boyfriends who would show up all the time when I was growing up, try to get me to call them dad, none of them ever stuck around long enough for me to care. You know your dad?â
âUnfortunately.â He replied and you grimaced, your nose scrunching up at the tone of his voice. âitâs not all itâs cracked up to be, trust me. Thankfully the bastard bit the dust before I was a teenager.â
âYou grow up here?â
âNah.â He took a sip of his drink, âJuarez.â
You stalled, looking up at him with slightly wide eyes, âand you got out?â
âI had help.â He shrugged, âpart of why community means so much to me up here.â
âUnderstandable.â
The conversation took a brief pause as food was delivered and Helen asked if you needed any refills on drinks.
âIs your mom here?â You asked over a bite of pancakes and Joe shook his head.
âBack in Mexico, we talk every so often, I make sure to send some money every month but thatâs about it.â
âSometimes the family we make is the real family we need.â You pointed out and Joe let out a huff of a laugh.
âSee, you get it.â His hand slid across the table, squeezing at yours, âI take it your mom isnât around much anymore?â
âRan off with one of her trucker boyfriends on my nineteenth birthday. Havenât heard from her since. But Iâm a big girl, I know how to take care of myself, I can tie my own shoes and everything.â
âYouâre wearing Toms.â He pointed out with a teasing grin and you scowled at him across the table. He took full advantage of the distraction to swipe a piece of bacon from your plate.
âHey!â You nearly whined.
âI told you to order both.â He pointed out.
âYou couldâve ordered your own bacon if you were planning on eating all of mine!â You protested with a laugh and he simply shrugged.
âIsnât it like, cuter or something if Iâm eating off your plate?â
âOh weâre into those technicalities already?â You smirked, hand sneaking across the table to swipe a couple of tater tots off his plate. âThen this is completely warranted.â
âWhatâs mine is yours.â He laughed, sliding his plate closer to you.
âNow that sounds more like it.â You teased back, snagging another tater tot. Though you let out a mock scoff when he stole a piece of strawberry off your plate.
As the two of you finished your meals you were more than thankful that heâd called knowing you likely wouldâve just throw something barely edible into the microwave instead of eating actual food. There was just something so calming about being around Jose, you felt safe, comfortable, like you knew you would be taken care of. What had started out as a small fluttering in your stomach had moved up to you chest, a warmth blooming through your entire body, goosebumps breaking out on your skin every time he touched you.
Glancing around the restaurant Joe noticed how the crowd had started to dissipate, those whoâd been out late yawning, saying goodnight and making their way home. There were only a few people scattered through the room, the types that worked odd hours or night shift. He looked up at you, noticing that you werenât affected by the chain of yawns going around, your eyes still bright when you glanced up at him.
âWhat?â You asked with a small smile.
âYou a night owl? You donât seem tired at all.â
âKinda.â You shrugged, âI prefer to be awake when the cityâs asleep. Itâs more peaceful. No one else awake to bother you, get more shit done.â You wiped up a spot of syrup on the table before folding the napkin on top of your plate, âI need to wash my hands, Iâll be right back.â
Joe took the opportunity when you disappeared to the bathroom to sneak up to the front to pay the bill, opting to add on a couple of last-minute treats considering you seemed okay to keep the date going. He knew he was caught when he felt the comfort of your hand sliding across his back as you tucked yourself into his side.
âWhatâs all this?â You asked.
âA treat.â He smiled back, pressing a kiss to the side of your head before he scooped up the drink tray, wrapping his free arm around you to direct you back to the car. âHot chocolate. Figured since you werenât tired we donât have to go home yet.â
âYou kidnapping me?â
âI donât think it counts if youâre a willing participant.â He pointed out and you laughed, sliding into the car, making no protests whatsoever when he handed the drink tray to you.
Joe drove through the night streets with ease, the city having calmed down while youâd been at the diner, a few turns here and down another backroad and you realized you were coming out by Pelham Bay Park. He pulled onto a side road, going down a couple of smaller turn offs before it opened up into the coastline and he backed up to the sand.
âCâmon.â He gestured, grabbing a blanket from the backseat before the two of you rounded the car and he was spreading it out on the trunk. He hopped up first, then took the drink tray from you, placing it to the side and gave you a hand getting up onto the trunk. âI like coming out here at night, itâs weirdly peaceful.â
âIt is.â You smiled softly, relaxing against the back window next to Jose as your gaze drifted upwards, âI didnât realize you could see so many stars and still technically be in the city. Itâs beautiful.â
âYeahâŠâ Joeâs eyes hadnât moved from your face, watching the way your eyes sparkled in the moonlight, a small grin on his cheeks, âit really is.â
Etching the vision in front of him into his brain to never let go of the memory, Joe finally relaxed against the car, eyes focussed on the sky above him. His lips twitched up into a smile when your hand slid into his, his thumb brushing across your knuckles. The wind picked up, swooping the colder temperature of the water with it and you involuntary shivered, even with Joeâs hoodie wrapped around your frame.
âCâmere.â He lifted his arm, wrapping it around you and you shuffled closer to him.
âOh my god, youâre a fucking furnace.â You nestled deeper into the embrace, curling around his side, your hand coming to rest on his chest as you looked up at him, laughing softly, âI donât know why Iâm surprised by that.â
Another breeze blew through the bay and Joseâs arm wrapped tighter around you, your breath catching in your throat at the way he was still gazing down at you. A few pieces of your hair caught in the wind and his free hand reached out, smoothing them back before he caressed down the side of your face, cupping your cheek. The butterflies in your stomach shot up to your chest, your heart rate picking up when he leant down, lips meeting yours in a tender kiss. The jittering in your chest burst through you, a small sigh escaping your lips into the kiss and your hand slid up his chest, cupping the back of his neck as you kissed him back.
Your lips moved with ease against each other, there was almost a familiarity to the way he kissed you, it was incredibly soft, his thumb stroking across your cheek, urging you to fully melt into his arms. The breeze that wrapped around the two of you was no longer one that brought a chill, it instead warmed the night, bringing peace to your minds and little smiles to your lips. Smaller kisses broke through, unable to keep your lips from curving up until Joe leant back in with more fire, his tongue sliding across the seam of your lips and you parted them. His tongue snuck into your mouth, deepening the kiss as your nails scratched at the back of his head, pulling him impossibly close.
âGod I could kiss you forever.â He muttered and you huffed out a laugh.
âThen you better not stop now.â You whispered back and he chuckled, leaning back in for another kiss.
Jose kept true to his word, kissing you breathless, until you were completely wrapped in bliss and no longer able to keep the smile off your face, the giggles escaping your kiss swollen lips. He tucked you into the crook of his shoulder, pressing a kiss to the top of your head as you relaxed against each other. It was only when you started to yawn heavily that he nudged at your side, insisting that he get you home so you could get your beauty sleep. Â

Don't Blame Me Ch 1
Joe Velasco x reader (slight au)
Warnings: language, flirtation, alcohol and nicotine consumption.
The Punch Bowl wasnât a place you had been frequenting recently, but it was late, it was open, and you were in dire need of a couple of drinks. The bar was a bit of a dive, though cozy, pool table and dart boards tucked away in the back and various entertainment playing on the multiple televisions around the room. You tugged your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans before dropping down into a seat at the corner end of the bar and flipping through the drink menu. You did your best to give a proper greeting to the bartender, a tired smile on your lips as you ordered a beer and a basket of fries, thanking him for the drink when he returned and you were finally able to take a sip and let the stress of the day melt away.
Your eyes drifted to one of the tvâs that had a game of soccer playing, you werenât particularly into the sport, but you knew enough to follow along with what was going on and it was nice to just let your brain go numb a bit. The second half was nearly over when the bartender delivered your fries, your stomach growling when the smell of fresh food hit your nose and you realized you hadnât eaten since breakfast. By the time the game was over you were done your food and onto your second beer, scrolling through your phone for a bit before you let out a soft sigh and finally tore your eyes away from it. Thatâs when your gaze landed on him, animatedly talking with the bartender like they knew each other, a wicked grin on his face.
Your first thought was that he was gorgeous, dark hair just long enough to grab at, a smile that almost had a hint of danger laced in it, just enough scruff to cover his chin, he was toned, biceps stretching the short sleeves of his shirt, a tattoo peeking out from underneath the fabric on one side. His clothes were casual, but stylish and fitted and you caught yourself wondering what he looked like underneath them. Your gaze flicked up to his face again and you noticed his light eyes were suddenly on you, a smirk spreading across his lips before he winked in your direction and you instantly felt your cheeks heat. You ducked your gaze, running a hand through your hair as you tried to ignore the fact that youâd just gotten caught staring, picking up your phone again to distract yourself.
A minute later a shot of tequila was being slid across the wood to you by the bartender who shot you a smile and nodded over towards the stranger. You picked up the glass as you looked up at the man who was raising his glass towards you then tossed the shot back and you did the same before you smiled back at him, giving him a little salute as a thank you. The bartender was back in front of you a second later to swipe the empty glass from the bar top,
âKitchenâs doing last call for food, you want anything else?â
âNo Iâm good.â You replied with a smile, âbut I am gonna pop out for a smoke, can you keep an eye on this?â You gestured toward the beer and he nodded.
âCourse.â He pulled out a clean coaster to cover the top of the glass.
âThanks.â
The door swung shut behind you and you took a couple of steps away from the entrance as you pulled the pack of smokes out of your pocket, fishing one out and placing it between your lips. The noise from within the bar went from muffled to louder back to muffled as you dug through your pocket attempting to find the lighter you couldâve sworn you had.
âNeed a light?â A voice asked from behind you and you werenât totally surprised to find the handsome stranger holding up a lighter, his own cigarette already lit.
âYeah, thanks.â You stepped toward him, heat creeping up the back of your neck when he got even closer to light the smoke himself rather than passing the lighter over. âThanks for the drink too.â
âYouâre welcome.â He grinned, taking a drag, ânot sure how I was supposed to resist, gorgeous girl like you.â His free hand reached out, smoothing a piece of your hair that had been caught in the wind back behind your ear and you felt your heart thump in your chest. âHavenât seen you around here before.â
âI just moved back into the neighbourhood.â
âLucky neighbourhood.â He grinned, his hand reaching out again, âIâm Jose.â
âY/n.â You replied, accepting his hand with the expectation of a handshake, instead you felt a fluttering in your chest when he brought your hand up to his lips, kissing the back of it.
âItâs a pleasure to meet you.â His hand lingered in yours for a moment, heat surging through your body at the contact before he finally let it go. âIâm glad I came out tonight.â
âLikewise.â You replied with a huff of a laugh, taking another drag of your smoke, âand to think I almost went to Alehouse.â
âAlehouse?â He laughed, âcâmon, that place is full of pretentious hipsters now.â
âUgh.â You rolled your eyes, âthatâs all the heads up I need to never go in there again.â
âGood girl.â He grinned down at you and you felt the butterflies in your stomach move south at the praise. âWhat brought you out tonight?â
âAlcohol.â You replied with a laugh, taking a long drag of your smoke, âand the utter lack of groceries at home.â
âWell you got your food, and I think itâs safe to say I can help with the other. Long day?â
âLike you wouldnât believe.â Smoke now finished you tossed it to the ground, stubbing it out with your toe.
âWell câmon.â Jose stubbed his half smoke out on the wall, placing it back in the pack for later, âletâs get you another shot.â
His hand quickly found the small of your back and you welcomed it as he directed you back into the bar. He picked up his own beer from where he had been sitting and nodded toward the end where youâd left your drink, his arm nearly wrapping all the way around your waist by the time youâd found your seat. He flagged down the bartender for another round of shots and once they were done he leaned into the bar, his knees brushing against your own.
âSo itâs been a long day, you wanna talk about it?â
âI wanna forget about it.â You replied with a laugh, taking another gulp of your beer.
âLet me guess, bad boss? Or is it bad boyfriend?â
âBoth are pretty terrible. Though thankfully itâs ex boyfriend. Piece of shit.â
âMustâve been to fuck around with a girl like you.â Joeâs hand slid across the bar top, squeezing at yours briefly, âmâsorry.â
âNot your fault.â You shot him a small smile, âhe was a jerk, I learnt a lesson.â
âWant me to beat him up?â He offered with a smirk and you laughed.
âIf he tries to fuck with me again, sure.â
âYou say the word and itâs done.â He offered and you chuckled again.
âYou sure are gung ho for someone you just met.â
âSomethinâ about you⊠youâre different, alluring, captivating. I wanna know everything there is to know about you.â
âOh come on.â You laughed, swatting at his arm, âIâm not that interesting.â
âYou are. Not to mention you are that beautiful.â He replied with a smile and you couldnât help but blush.
âAnd what about you?â You asked over the rim of your glass before taking a sip, âyou donât have a million girls chasing after you?â
âDoesnât matter if I donât want âem.â He shrugged, glancing over his shoulder, âlook around, theyâre young and drunk, throwing themselves at whoeverâll pay attention to them. No self respecting guy wants that. Besides, you were actually watching the game earlier.â
You let out a quiet laugh, ducking your gaze before looking up at him, âI hate to admit it, but I do know the bare minimum about soccer, itâs just a nice way to empty my brain after a long week.â
âNot soccer,â he chuckled, âfĂștbol.â
âOkay, okay,â you chuckled, âI know basically nothing about fĂștbol.â
âNot a sports girl then?â He asked with a raised brow.
âI always liked baseball.â You replied with a shrug, âeasy enough to understand, I like a good summer day out in the stands.â
âYou ever play?â
âNot since school.â
His eyes flicked past you to the back of the bar, a grin still present on his lips, âhow do you feel about pool?â
âThat Iâm so abysmal at it I wouldnât even want to subject you to witnessing that.â
âWhat about darts?â He asked, a smirk on his lips, âyou know anything about them?â
You smiled, glancing over your shoulder to the dart boards, âenough to make it a challenge for you.â
âA girl who knows how to play the right games.â It was his turn to chuckle, draining his beer before ordering another round, âyou really are my type.â
When Joe picked up his beer you followed his lead, wandering over to where the dart boards were, claiming one of the high top tables as your own while he grabbed the darts. He sauntered back over to you, lifting the case up in your direction and you shook your head with a small laugh.
âWhy donât you show me how itâs done? Gotta learn from the best after all.â
He chuckled, stepping forward and gently pinching your chin, âadd manners and flattery to the list, you really are the whole package arenât you darlinâ?â You let out a breath in response, ducking your gaze as your cheeks burned, âoh câmon, donât get shy on me now.â He teased, âyouâre cute as hell when you blush.â
âJoseâŠâ you laughed, swatting at his chest before he stepped away, smirk still on his lips as he turned toward the dart board to make his first throw.
His first two shots landed in the inner ring, his third landing a single bullseye, earning a round of gentle applause from you. After collecting the darts he turned back to you with a slightly smug grin, passing the darts over to you.
âAnd here I was thinking youâd go easy on me.â You teased and he laughed, his hands finding your hips as he stepped around you, holding you flush to his chest.
âSweetheart Iâm not gonna take it easy on you until youâre begging me to stop.â He husked into your ear and you felt yourself tingling as your heart began to thump in your chest. One of his hands remained on your hip as the other trailed up your arm, âthe trick to darts is the stance.â He stepped impossibly closer to you, turning your hips ever so slightly to angle them, his breath hot on your neck when he spoke, the smell of his cologne invading your senses to the point you almost couldnât think straight. âBut donât forget about the follow through on the throw.â
He guided your hand back, slowly letting you take control of the dart before it was thrown into the board, landing in the inner circle.
âGood girl.â He murmured, his hands moving back to your waist, resting there while you transferred the second dart to your throwing hand.
You were completely unsure if what he was doing was an attempt to help you, an attempt to throw you off your game, or if it was just an excuse to get his hands on you, but you certainly werenât complaining no matter what his motives were. Your second throw landed you a single bullseye, and your final throw landed you a double bullseye, right in the middle of the board.
âFuckâŠâ he muttered, pinching at your waist, âthis beginnerâs luck or is your aim actually that good?â
You let out a low laugh, turning in his hands, your fingers slipping through his belt loops, âoh⊠Iâm just that good.â
It was your turn to fluster him, the smirk on your lips and darkening look in your eyes enough to drive him insane. He thought you were cute when you were blushing, but hot as fucking hell when you were cocky and he wanted to see more of it.
âIf youâre this good at darts I should take you to the range next.â
âYeah?â You raised a brow, your eyes flicking up and down his face, âgolf or guns? Cause Iâm terrible at one but youâre gonna have to guess.â
âA little mystery makes things more fun.â He offered up with a grin.
âFunny, Iâve heard the same thing about dangerâŠâ You shot him a wink before finally turning away, walking to the board to collect the darts to pass back to him, âyour turn pretty boy.â
The game continued, although neither of you were actually keeping score, no one cared about points tonight. Joe took every advantage that he could, hands resting on your hips as he moved around you, brushing the small of your back, lingering in yours each time you exchanged the darts. There was no doubt that he was a big flirt, and an even bigger charmer, and one that very easily snuck his way under your skin. Neither of you even realized how much time had passed until they were doing last call.
âOh fuck.â You laughed, glancing at your phone, âIâve gotta be up early, I should really get going.â
âIâll flag you a cab.â Joe replied, finishing the last of his beer as you did the same, pocketing your phone.
âIâm not far, I was just gonna walk.â You replied.
âThen Iâll walk ya.â
âYou sure?â Your brow furrowed and his arm slunk around your waist again.
âAbsolutely. Itâs late, dark out there. Canât have you walking around alone, itâs not safe.â
âAlright.â You agreed with a smile, the warmth from his hand on your back surging through your whole body as the two of you exited the bar onto the city streets.
It was warmer than one would have expected for late April, but the breeze still blew through the streets, pulling a little shiver from you and Jose pulled you closer to him, heat radiating from his body to yours. While you were waiting to cross Greystone Ave his arm slipped into yours, fingers interlacing with your own and you let out a happy sigh at the feeling. True to you word, you were only a fifteen minute walk from the bar, slowing your pace as you approached your building.
âThis would be me.â
âNice place? Iâve heard good things about the building.â
âYeah, semi renovated, decent rent, canât complain.â Still holding his hand you leant back against the brick wall.
âI look forward to seeing it one day.â He grinned and you laughed, prodding at his chest.
âSmooth talker.â
âLemme see your phone.â He reluctantly dropped your hand, raising his up and you tugged the device out of your pocket, unlocking it for him, watching as he put his own number in, texting himself so heâd have your number too. âThere.â He handed it back to you, âyou ever need a walk home, you text me, alright?â
âI will.â You smiled up at him, placing the phone back into your pocket, âthank you. I had a great time tonight.â
âMe too.â He reached out, hand stroking your cheek, âitâs not every night I find someone better at darts than me.â
âNothingâs wrong with a little competition.â You replied, stifling back a yawn.
âKeeps me humble.â He chuckled, the hand on your cheek tilted your head ever so lightly so he could leave a tender kiss on your cheek. âlooks like Iâve tired you out, get upstairs, get some rest.â
âI do think Iâve stayed out past my curfew.â You laughed back, squeezing at his hand softly when it slipped off your face.
âSweet dreams Chiquita.â He kissed the side of your head, nudging you towards the apartment door.
âGood night Jose.â
With a soft smile and heat on your cheeks you finally turned away from him, unlocking the apartment door and heading inside. He waited until you were stepping into the elevator, disappearing from his view before he made his own leave, pulling out the half done cigarette from earlier to smoke on his way home.
If there was one thing that he was certain about, it was that he had been meant to meet you that night, that he was determined to not let you end up being one that got away. You were a force to be reckoned with, he could tell that under that somewhat shy demeanour there was fire, passion, someone who could keep up with him but also be the one to bring him back down to earth when he needed it.
Upstairs in your apartment, you started to get undressed and when you pulled your shirt over your head you were hit with another strong whiff of Joeâs cologne. Letting out a small sigh you breathed it in before tossing the shirt to the laundry pile and pulling on pyjamas so you could crawl into bed. Something in your gut had told you to stop on the way home tonight, to turn left instead of right and you were starting to think that it wasnât the need for a drink, but the fate of crossing paths with Jose. That he was the person your life needed, especially right now, and the world was doing you a favour by dropping him right into your lap.
