@onycholytic hail to the king babyyyy! as the prophecy foretold i have drawn andi in a 17th cen armour inspired look~ some of my period references had black armour w gold detailing and i had to go for that [and its not the late 1600s without a truly unconscionable amount of ribbon loops] tried to include the color palettes of our main valois descendant characters so obvs we've got the red and gold but theres also some purple for violetta and seffie's light blue

Still Trying To Get By

Hated to do it, but we started a GoFundMe. These are chaotic times, and no mistake, and all of a sudden we realized they were chaosing all over us. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ALL HAIL! Krosp I, King of All Cats (plushie edition)

Now that the cat is out of the bag the secret is out and Krosp plushie has been safely delivered to our Professors, I can share him!

Do not ask me why I decided to make a Krosp plushie. I just did.

Krosp plushie is about 8 inches tall (including crown) and stands up independently! I went all over eBay looking for a bipedal white cat and found exactly one (technically I found two of him). He's from a now-defunct toy company called Russ Berrie and Co.

The coat and collar are hand-sewn (by me) and designed (by me) to fit this exact plushie. They're made from red velvet, gold felt, assorted metal beads, gold rope ribbon, red and gold basic cotton fabric (for the coat lining), and almost an entire spool (32 meters!) of the most fickle gold thread I've ever worked with. (The basic red thread was fine.)

The medallion was slightly modified (power to the power drill!) to hang from two loops instead of one as it came, and is on red velvet ribbon. I didn't make the crown. I'll post the template and exact "recipe", with links, if anyone's interested!

I tried very hard to make this Krosp as screen-accurate as possible. Krosp actually has one of the simpler designs for a Girl Genius character, and his general look is remarkably unchanged all the way back to Volume 4! The bears' Shiny Thing first appears in Volume 20, and Krosp has been wearing it as a medallion since Volume 21.

I actually made two plushies, and was VERY lucky to find two of the same long-out-of-production stuffed animals at the same time. Here's Krosp mk. 1 (on the right, made to prove I could do it) and Krosp mk. 2 (on the left, improved with all the lessons I learned from mk. 1) together.

Time to make the mk. 2 plushie, measured in background noise: 1 season of Dungeon Meshi and 12 episodes of The Great British Bake-Off...or a bit over 21 hours.
