Wednesday creators confirm no gay love story (Byler talk)
See? That's how you not queerbait. You DON'T QUEERBAIT:
"In a new interview with Decider, series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Miller revealed that a romance between Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) and her werewolf roomie, Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) isn’t in the cards...
You clear the air and make clear you're not trying to tease an LGBT romance just to lure in queer viewers.
Which the Duffers have NOT done with Mike and Will.
Wonder what that means? =D

the fake body that was pulled from the quarry looked unsettlingly like Will Byers. surely the lab had to have up-close, intimate knowledge of what will looked like besides the single photo that was used on the missing flier
that dummy they pulled from the water was a near exact replica of him that fooled every person besides joyce. even Jonathan couldn’t tell the difference.

the face of the fake body was Will’s face at rest, the picture on the flier was Will smiling.
now the question is: did they know what he looked like before the abduction because he was known to the lab already? had they seen him before? interacted with him? were they watching him? is there a reason besides “right place, wrong time” that he was targeted by the demogorgan (possibly vecna)?
is that why will had the slightest hint of recognition in his expression when he saw Brenner in the desert?

gay mike wheeler proof/s4 analyzation.
This might have already been said, but in this scene of s4 ep1, Mike is trying to find a replacement for DND. This scene is in HIS pov, (keep this in mind) something we don’t see a lot. Mike walks in, he looks at a girl and a boy, the camera is on them, he visibly looks confused, then the camera shifts to Nancy and his face lights up and he begins asking her if she wants to join hellfire.
the reason why this scene is important is because it confirms what I’m going to say about this next scene.
The scene starts off with 2 guys wrestling, then it slowly pans out to the “leader” of the wrestling team im guessing. Anyways, Mike begins asking him to be a replacement. Mind you, these scenes are all in HIS POV. The camera goes wherever mikes eyes go. Which means he was definitely looking at those guys wrestling as soon as he even walked into the room. Now, Mike Queeler, why are you looking at 2 guys wrestling? Idk it seems pretty queercoded to me. I just think it’s very intentional and a hint at his sexuality/his attraction to guys. For example, when Max got the binoculars from Lucas bc she wanted to stare at a shirtless Steve, it was very obvious because we KNOW she’s attracted to men and because she wasn’t afraid to show that she liked men. Now, with Mike it’s a little more subtle to casual watchers/ the GA because he’s afraid of his attraction to guys bc of heteronormativity, also bc it’s supposed to be a “plot twist” when it’s soo obvious to any person who knows media literacy.
Not to mention the “I love contact sports” guy in rink o mania.. this cannot be a coincidence.
I was going to go more in depth about these scenes but I reached the limit for images sadly. Lmk what u guys think abt this tho!

Saw this clip recently and I’m just trying to imagine being a Duffer brother who is writing a byler slowburn and having to whisper on set about whether milkvan should kiss or not.
also just confirms that the snowball kiss was complete fan service

DEFINITELY onto something omg
Welcome back to another episode of ‘Am I onto something or on something?’ 😂😂 Let’s find out!

Mike’s shirt combines vertical and horizontal stripes — two directions pulling against each other. Vertical lines often represent ambition, growth, and moving forward, while horizontal lines suggest stability, clarity, and grounding. The clash on his shirt mirrors his inner conflict: torn between who he is and who he thinks he should be, between moving on and holding back. Will’s shirt, with its only-horizontal stripes, carries a quiet steadiness. His identity, feelings, and desires run in one clear direction. He’s not lost in multiple paths — he’s walking the one he knows is his.

both scenes with mike in the bedroom with either el or will don't just parallel because of the quote "you never say it" "i say it" and "i didn't say it" "you didn't have to", they parallel because in the situation with El, she's begging him to say i love you, and he just never gives that to her, he doesn't even say it aloud during his heart to hearts with will where he supposedly feels remorse for not saying it.
whereas, in rink o mania, will tells mike that they used to be best friends, implying that this is a label he wants back. later in the bedroom scene, mike gives will exactly what he wants in his apology. he calls them best friends - paralleling the fact that he "didn't know what to say" with el.

The opportunity the Duffers have, to show young girls that romantic love doesn’t define a woman's worth. That it's not something every woman should chase to feel whole. Every princess, every heroine ends up with a boyfriend, but El wouldn't. Parental love, sigling love, platonic love - they're just as powerful, if not more. And she will save the town with the strength of those bonds.🙏
