I'm just another fandom blog. Throughout the last 25 years, I've been a fan of The West Wing (Josh/Donna), Without a Trace (Danny/Martin), Stargate Atlantis (John/Rodney) and Schitt's Creek (David/Patrick gives me life). My current obsession is 9-1-1 (Eddie Diaz is the love of my life and Buddie is endgame). Since this is a fan-blog, nothing of a more personal nature will be posted here. I'll mostly be happily fangirling all over the place. ;o) All my fics so far can be found on Ao3 under the same name (lemotmo). My WaT, SGA and 9-1-1 fic can be found there.

I miss when fandom let people be fictional.
Back in the early 2000s, you stanned an actor because they played a role that made you feel something—not because their worldview matched yours perfectly. You saw them on a red carpet, maybe a cute interview clip, and that was it. You weren’t dissecting their personal life like it was your moral duty.
Now it’s like… the second someone reveals a bad opinion, it becomes a performance of outrage. Everyone races to unfollow them loudly, scream “I always knew!!!” and turn it into a moral referendum. When most of the time, it’s just a guy who says dumb shit online because he’s never had to think critically about anything in his life.
And listen—it’s completely valid if someone saw that post and decided they don’t want to support him anymore. That’s a personal boundary, and people are allowed to have them. But there’s a difference between stepping away and turning it into a public hate train. We spend so much time pointing fingers at how hateful the right is, but when someone disappoints us, fandom becomes a beast. The cruelty, the dogpiling, the “block me if you still follow him” energy—it’s all just another form of control dressed up as righteousness.
Doesn’t mean you excuse it. Doesn’t mean you pretend it didn’t happen. It just means you don’t have to perform heartbreak over someone who was never that deep to begin with. I liked the character. I liked the work. I never needed the man behind it to be my activist king.
Let fandom be fun again ✊

the funniest part about eddie’s fond as hell smile while buck’s ranting about the serious predators in the la zoo plus the “he takes christopher there all the time. got the place memorized.” is that not even five minutes before in the same episode eddie’s visibly trying not to panic at the implication of settling down with ana. it’s approx 4 mins if you want to be technical. i know what you are edmundo.

If we get a Christmas episode, would you rather Buddie kiss under the mistletoe or the elf woman reappear and recognise them again?
Both?! I mean, they can meet the elf woman again and she can point up to something above them. As they look up they notice the mistletoe. The elf lady says they have to kiss now, it is law. So they do, because they don't want to disappoint her.
Really...
That is the only reason.
😉😉😉

I mean this with all of the love in my heart, but some of you really need to realize that it's actually healthy and normal to have friends who don't agree with you about everything. It's actually important to not exist in an echo chamber. It's good to have people you love and trust to have conversations with about things you disagree on.
I'm not saying you should go out there and befriend the people protesting outside of Pride events, but I am saying that it's good for you and for other people to be around people with different points of view. You should have boundaries, don't compromise your values to be friends with someone, but it's really important to remember that in the real world no one will agree with you about everything and they shouldn't because you aren't right all the time.
When I met the person who is now one of my best friends in the world a decade ago, we disagreed on most things politically, but we were aligned on how we thought people should be treated. We worked together for a couple of years and over those years we both learned a lot and we both grew as people. But if I had dropped her as a friend the moment she told me she went to church every Sunday and said some, frankly, hurtful things about gay people, she never would have learned what queer people in real life are like. Because it turned out she had never met an out queer person before. And because we were friends, when I said "hey, that really hurt my feelings, I'm not sure if you know this, but I'm bi." She actually listened to me and learned and now she's super active in her local queer community and has a bunch of queer friends.
And it wasn't just me helping her grow either. She really opened my mind up about the community that comes with religion (neither of us are religious anymore, but in the first two years we knew each other we ended up going out and trying different churches together and ended up going to a Unitarian Universal one together for the two years we lived in the same city).
All that to say, go outside and talk to real people. Make friends with people even if they don't agree with you about everything. Be open to learning and growing. Be respectful and be willing to help other people grow too. In my opinion, human connection and helping each other is why we're here, it's important to not lose sight of each other's humanity, especially these days when it's so easy to yell about shit online with a group of people who all agree with you.
#all of this ☝️☝️☝️#prev>>#this is so well written#social media lacks nuance#and ppl are so righteous#a lot of things have changed for the better#but communication and empathy are sorely lacking#weve all been brainwashed by clickbait and polarisation#i could go on and on#we need to get back to the real world with real interactions with real people

#53 from the random prompts list!
Hi anon! Here you go :)
Buck turns away from the stand, placing the apples he's just purchased into the tote he always brings to the market, and looks around.
Eddie had been by his side before, but Buck had gotten caught up in a conversation about recipes and different apples, so Eddie had wandered off to go look at another stall.
And now Buck can't find him.
Not that it's a huge deal. They usually get separated at the farmer's market at least once every time they come. Eddie complains that Buck takes too long at the stalls and he gets bored. But he never pressures Buck to shorten the conversations or to take less time at a stall selecting his produce or items. Eddie simply wanders off and then finds Buck again. They do their own thing and then come back together.
So, Buck steps into the crowd of people, and keeps wandering along, glancing at the stalls he passes. None of them are ones he wants to stop at this time, although he does wave at some of the vendors he's become familiar with since he comes here as frequently as his schedule allows.
The sun is bright and warm in the sky above, and there's no plans for the rest of the day. Buck had been excited when Eddie had been the one to suggest they come to the market, partially because it means getting to spend the day with Eddie. Buck had thought it would be a boring day off on his own, not wanting to force himself onto Eddie once again.
Things were different since Eddie had moved back from Texas. Not necessarily in a bad way, but in a way Buck couldn't quite figure out.
He'd had to have a crash course in accepting that he was actually in love with Eddie, telling absolutely no one about that, but also Eddie seemed different since coming back. More...confident in himself. More certain. Something Buck hadn't realized had been missing from his best friend for a while.
Along with that came Eddie being more open with Buck. They talked about a lot of stuff, and Eddie didn't keep his emotions hidden from Buck. Nor did he hold back with touching Buck. Which was a bit maddening because of the whole being in love with Eddie situation, but Buck was managing. Mostly.
Okay, so it's become really hard to remember that Eddie isn't actually his even though Eddie sort of acts like it.
Buck's doing his best. Really.
That is, until he spots Eddie, standing at a table selling candies. The one that normally has a nice old lady who talks endlessly about her grandkids.
The nice old lady is not the one standing behind the table though. No, there is a handsome man, about Buck and Eddie's age, standing there. Smiling at Eddie. Flirting with Eddie.
Buck marches over there, smiling stiffly when he presses up against Eddie's side. "There you are."
Eddie turns his attention to Buck immediately, smiling softly at him. "Hey, you get your apples?"
"Yup."
"Oh, apples from Gwen?" The handsome man says, eyes still on Eddie, "They're the best."
"Buck does wonders with them." Eddie replies, smiling proudly. "Makes a mean apple pie."
"Which he prefers over candy." Buck snaps, glaring at the man. "Eddie doesn't have too much of a sweet tooth."
The man behind the table finally looks over at Buck, clearly seeing something on his face because he nods and excuses himself, moving down the table to talk with another person that's stepped up.
Eddie, biting his lip in a poor attempt to conceal a smile, goes easily with Buck when he's guided away from the table.
“That wasn’t very subtle.” Eddie comments when they're far enough away. They're still standing close together as they walk, pressed up against one another.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Buck replies stiffly, feeling a bit of shame wash over him as he realizes what he did.
Eddie isn't his. There's no reason to get jealous. No reason to be upset that someone is flirting with Eddie. That's completely fine.
"Please," Eddie scoffs, "We both know I have a massive sweet tooth."
"Then we'll get you some candy from someone else."
Eddie steps in front of Buck, facing him and effectively stopping Buck. "You were jealous."
"No."
"You were." Eddie looks gleeful. "You were jealous because instead of Annie, her grandson Greg was there."
"Greg?" Buck wrinkles his nose, "That's a shit name."
"And," Eddie steps closer. Their chests are practically brushing together. "You were jealous because he was flirting with me."
"So you knew he was."
"Kind of hard not to tell." Eddie smirks, "Why were you jealous, Buck?"
Buck decides, fuck it, and goes for it.
"Because you're mine." He growls, "And I don't want him, or anyone else, flirting with you."
Eddie's cheeks flush and his eyes darken, "I don't want him, or anyone else, flirting with me either. But understand that this goes for you as well. You're mine."
Buck's heart beats wildly in his chest. He wonders if Eddie can feel it.
"Glad we got that settled." Buck whispers.
"Agreed." Eddie murmurs.
"We are not having our first kiss in the middle of the farmers market."
"You sure?" Eddie challenges, "I'm not sure Greg understood that I'm taken..."
Buck growls once more before his fingers wrap around the back of Eddie's neck and he pulls him in for a kiss.
Now everyone can see that Eddie is taken.

If you could write the show, what would your big emergency opening be?
Ooooh, that's a good question Nonny. Ideally I really want a joint Buddie nde.
Something like them saving people who got stuck in a cave and then getting trapped themselves. The roof caves in and they are stuck on opposite sides of a big boulder or something like that. They talk and Buck reveals that he has feelings for Eddie, changing Eddie's entire world view. Buck's voice gets softer and softer until he stops talking. Unbeknowst to Eddie, Buck was hurt and is bleeding out. Eddie start yelling, trying to get to him but to no avail. Of course the 118 show up just in time.
Next scene we see Buck asleep in a hospital bed, Eddie sitting next to him. Hen tells him to go get some sleep since he got banged up himself in that cave-in, but he refuses to leave Buck's bedside, confessing to Hen that Buck told him he loves him and he is so confused about it. Hen encourages him to think about why he is so confused about it.
This plays out over half the season: Eddie walking around with the knowledge that Buck is in love with him and one day he just wakes up and realises that he loves him back. So episode 9x11 is dedicated to Buddie canon!
THE END!
😂 I know, I know... this is pure fanfiction, but oh... the things I would do to see it happen on my screen. 😋
