when i tried suspending my books on fishing wire, i wanted the book to float and be open so people could look through them but they would just hang with the cover bending back wards and all the pages hanging off, and it didn't have that flow like look, so i decided it would be better to hammer my books into my booth and line them up in a row instead of trying to make them hang.

One of my ideas for my final piece was to put images in books and create them my way, using one of the spare books i wouldn't be using for the final piece i created a trial book putting the negative neon images i edited and ripping the book apart.

I then decided to do some physical experiments i photocopied a page from the horror book and burned some holes in them to then print on but i didn't want just an empty white spot so i layered the same photocopy behind the burned one so it looks like it highlights some words and then printed my photos on top of them.

I decided to use the comments from my first questionnaire and have the people who wrote them write on top of some of the best pictures and see different peoples style of writing and thoughts and opinions.

During this project, I wanted to portray childhood influences through photography, my main idea was based on photographing my little sister as a porcelain doll and have a really sinister look at all childhood influences and media directions for both sexes male and female. However, during my project, I slightly diverted towards the colourful Disney studies. I first studied the psychology behind what we class as childhood and what different influences could be then I had looked at the original stories of some fairy tales which were quite gruesome and disturbing. I also created a questionnaire to find out people’s preferences and thoughts.
After all my research, I decided I wanted to study children in a natural habitat, how they play and react to the environment, like playing with dolls, how they dress and when they’re told to put on make-up. After I studied my cousins in a playful environment I had scheduled numerous photoshoots over a week and had shot 18 different people inspired by Disney/Pixar characters who they felt influenced by or who they watched growing up. During the shoots, I played with lighting which represented the characters, there was a lot of blues, purples and pinks and tried to analyse the meaning behind these colours.
During editing my photos, I decided to edit the original character behind my models to show comparison and influence these characters had over my peers. Up to this point I have researched 5 artists and inspirations towards my work. I have had 3 tutor feedback which have been very helpful in my work. Although I don’t want to focus on the colourful Disney I feel it is crucial I use some of the colourful playfulness in my work as it shows comparison to what we think and what it actually is just like in Banksy’s Dismaland. I have started to print onto books which I had found at home and got from the charity shops. I have printed on colourful Disney pages which places my characters in an actual story setting and also in horror books which I really enjoyed the look of however you can’t really tell it’s a horror book therefore I am planning on some physical experiments on my work like burning and stitching and a few other ideas I have gathered from a second questionnaire I have composed and gathered results from. For my final exhibition outcome, I have three different ideas, one including Collage which would relate back to my previous work in Paris in the Park and Word Image Sequence, I would do this in a Magazine/ Poster way almost creating these Disney characters into celebrities, however I would like to stay out of my comfort zone. Second including cutting and stitching and burning into books and almost creating my own versions of Disney books but turning everything colourful dark and vice versa I would do this using the books I have and not being precious about them and quite literally burning them, ripping them and stitching back together. Finally, the third where I place the images into old frames and turning the Images dark and just hanging them up with some quotes from the original stories I would do this through Photoshop and maybe buying frames online or even creating my own with some help from a peer who created her own frames for Paris in the Park.
