I don't know if looking for em dashes in text is a good predictor for generative ai. In english only contexts maybe. But in german, the spellcheck in word and libre automatically corrects your en dash to an em dash if you write it with spaces before and after.
At least I think that's what it does. Might be wrong.
But when I write fanfic in a document and use a dash to separate clauses in a sentence, I wrote it. In english or in german. The spellcheck might fumble with the length of the dash, but what it does is between it and its god.

Nah, that would mean the dems are actively doing something.
Breaking: Democrats are killing themselves to protest against the GOP's pro-life policies.

So they made a superman movie. Like an actual superman movie, made by people who have read more than 1 superman comic.
That should not be extraordinary, yet here we are.
Fuck Zach Snyder.

I have a new little guy!
Thanks to Anatolii Gurin over on etsy.
The great statue of the Falmer at Irkngthand has been living in my head rent free since I first saw it. A colossal statue is always a good idea, but having it be of the Falmer? Having it show up only so briefly? That's poetry.
I tell you, sometimes Skyrim is onto something.

Over here in Germany, which likes to understand itself as a "social market economy", the labour struggles of the 19th century are taught. Only a little and badly, but that applies to everything else too, because our schools suck. The framing is that the labour organizers of the past were right. Child labour is bad. Workplace safety is good. The state listened. And the state implemented everything necessary.
(Otto von Bismark literally stole the idea of health insurance from labour and implemented it. One of history's greatest monsters, but that move was legit hilarious.)
And now everything is fine.
You will hear the slogan "Wer hat uns verraten? Sozialdemocraten!" (Who betrayed us? Socdems!), but never know what it means.
History has ended.

The Alex Garland approach to photo journalism.

Every time I see news coverage of a protest I remember this image of a single overturned trashcan in front of The Washington Post building

Sometimes reading Arthuriana feels like reading Alice in Wonderland.
“Well,” said Alice, “these are a dreadfully strange assortment of objects!”
“They all symbolize different aspects of Our Lord’s martyrdom,” said the Fisher King, casting a line into his teacup.
“Indeed. I am sure everything symbolizes something else, for if everything was only itself I should be very confused. Might I ask what the point of the bleeding lance is?”
Alice regretted asking the question as soon as she had done so, for she saw the pun that would likely be made about the word point. Instead, however, the room erupted in applause and shouts of “The Grail! She has achieved the Grail!”
The next castle she visited, Alice resolved to herself as the inhabitants of this one danced for joy, would be more sensible.

@comicaurora Found this at a local Barnes and Noble. I would attack this immediately if not for the fact I already preordered and have a funny idea for an Erin sticker

True. But I've yet to come across a cult hinged on people not getting algebra. Was it really worth giving kids f(x)= shaped nightmares?
You see I too often sat in school classes and thought “when am I ever going to need this, I’m never going to be an engineer, I’m never gonna be a scientist, I’m never gonna be a linguist” and then I grew up and it turns out a lot of bigots and cults and scams and grifts hinge their entire business model on you just. Not knowing what a protein is or some shit

They are not even that much concrete. They are mostly steel. That's why a 9/11 brought them down.
i feel like we don't appreciate these days how much the twin towers sucked, like, design-wise

they were contemporarily hated for just being these giant grey monoliths
like there probably could've been an easier way to get rid of them, but they probably needed to go either way

Thank god for the block function. Blocking "ai_generated" on rule 34 catches almost everything.
all politics about ai aside if you use it to create fanwork you're just a fucking dweeb
