its funny to me how zuko stans are complaining about him being ‘hated’ (when most of the ‘hate’ towards him is a result of the delusional takes from a good amount of his stans) when characters like aang and katara have been dragged through the mud for over a decade.

As kids- Tyzula, a short story.

Ty Lee sat on the royal sheets of Azula’s bed at the bright age of 13. The two of them comfortable as Ty Lee braided the princess’ hair. Something had seemed off with Azula that day from what Ty Lee noticed. Despite that, she didn’t interrupt the silence.

Most children their age probably would find the silence awkward or uncomfortable. Ty Lee had felt like that when she first met Azula. The brunette had always struggled to stay still. But Azula always seemed to enjoy the occasional quiet moments. So Ty Lee grew to as well.

“Hey, ‘Zula?” Ty Lee began, “Do you think we’ll ever get married one day?” She said as she thread another lock of Azula’s hair through her hand.

They often dreamed of what it’d be like to marry someone. Little did they know what their fate awaited them in the future. Arranged marriages weren’t relative to them at that age. Instead; they’d play games like, ‘Mommy and Daddy’ or ‘Brother and Sister’ to fill the time.

Azula and Ty Lee would usually play those games in the royal garden while Mai and Zuko spent time together. When they did play it had been done in secret solely because Ursa had scolded Azula for it once. That only fueld the defiance of the two girls.

“That’s a strange question.” Azula said, tone blunt. Her eyes remained forward as Ty Lee continued to play with her hair.

“Is it?” Ty Lee’s head cocked to the side. “But- We always play that game!” Her eye’s drifted to Azula’s shoulders.

Azula let out a grown and shuffled her way around to face Ty Lee, “We can’t! It’s just a stupid game anyway.” her eyes fierce. A frown painted the other girls face and her eyes darted away from Azula’s. Ty Lee let out a small ‘hmph’ before pushing herself away from Azula.

A sigh escaped Azula’s lips before she placed a hand on Ty Lee’s shoulder, “Well…” her voice trailed off, “We cant.” Ty Lee’s eyes darted towards hers until the disappointment hit. “But,” She began, “It’d be really cool if we could!” a smile quickly formed on the brunette’s face.

“Azula!” Ty Lee wrapped her arms around the girl. She let out a giggle, “It would be really cool.” then gave Azula a peck on the cheek.

Random Tyzula Headcannon 1

- Azula had a growth spurt and was a head taller than Ty Lee, who was initially upset but absolutely LOVED fitting in Azula's arms

- Azula pretends to hate cuddling with Ty Lee and scrowls whenever they do, but secretly loves it

- Ty Lee knows Azula gets jealous easily and flirts with random boys to purposefully get her angry

- Mai was the first to know about their relationship and tried her best to be surprised when they told her, but she's Mai :)

- Zuko was actually clueless and was genuinely surprised when he found Azula and Ty Lee making out

- Azula pretends to be annoyed when Ty Lee constantly places herself in her lap but subtly pulls her in closer by the waist, trapping her

- Ty Lee's always smiling but Azula's the only one who knows about her panic attacks and comforts her

- Ty Lee convinces Azula to join the Gaang and run away with her and Mai

- Everyone(not Mai) is surprised to see Azula being affectionate with Ty Lee

- When they were younger, they would pretend to get married and Azula had a book filled with marriage ideas to Ty Lee

- When Zuko and Azula become Co-Fire Lords, Azula marries Ty Lee to officially make her a Fire Lady

- When they get married, Azula wears a pink dress and Ty Lee wears black and red armor(Mai is Azula's best man and Zuko is Ty Lee's maid of honor)

- After Ty Lee admits one night that she always wanted kids, Azula takes her the very next day to an orphanage and they adopt a month old girl that they named Kuzumi

- Everyone has doubts about Azula's parenting skills but she turns out to be a really good mom and Kuzumi's favorite parent(Ty Lee was so smug)

I'm sick and tired of having this conversation so I'll put my opinion out there and if you don't like it, there the door 🚪

Zuko was the one to cheat at the Agni Kai, not Azula

And I can already hear the antis coming at me so before you start yelling, read the whole thing carefully.

Zuko cheated because he had a teammate in a one on one duel. And plz don't say Katara wasn't his teammate because she walked into the arena to defend him, changing herself from an observer to a participant. To make it easier to understand, I decided to draw it out to y'all:

Those are some screenshots from the final Agni Kai. Do you notice those little tiles around the clean ground? Do you wanna know what they mean (at least from my point of view)?

Do you see it? Yes? Good! Let's do that again!

Do you see it it again? Great! Let's do this one last time, just to be safe shall we?

I know you see it this time! It's clear as day! Katara wasn't supposed to be standing there. She's is forfeiting and since if she were to fight she'd work with Zuko and against Azula, she is considered part of Zuko's team. So her cheating is Zuko's cheating too.

And don't try to pull any of that "she was already there" bullshit because...

...she was nowhere around Zuko before the forfeiting scene.

Now, I know some people are going to say stuff like "there wasn't an official arena so Katara could walk there" and here is what I have to say to you:

If you don't want to count the area as an arena then you can't count the fight as an Agni Kai since a designated dueling space is necessary.

And if it's not an Agni Kai then there weren't any rules to be broken, so why exactly are you attacking Azula for breaking a non-existent rule?

However, if you want to believe that the fight was an Agni Kai, you have to accept that the clear ground was the arena. To accept that is to also accept that Katara forfeited, causing Zuko to lose, either by tramming up and making her cheating his also or by needing him to save her from the lightning Azula was allowed to throw at her since she was participant.

In the end of the day, Zuko did get burned, Azula didn't, Katara cheated, Azula didn't. So how come people still believe Azula wasn't the winner?

To sum up, this is my opinion on the subject. I'm not posting it to cause an argument but to make people aware as to who they'll have to deal with if they interact with me. If you agree, good for you. If you don't, suck it up or leave cause I'm in no mood to talk about this again when I have already said everything I had to say. Now don't bother me about this ever again.

so tired of writing essays but its my duty

first of i KNOW you did NOT compared harley quinn and joker to tyzula. im a dc fan and i am strongly against harley/joker. its a terrible ship and the fact that you're actually compairing tyzula to them is actually insane. im convinced we didn't watch the same show.

as someone who's been through the type of abuse that you're labeling tyzula as i can vouche that their relationship is nothing like the ones i've endured. which is many. yes, tyzula does not have a healthy relationship to some extent but there is no way that it's abusive.

like i said, azula did apologize to ty lee. and yes, abusers do that too. TRUST ME i know that. but you know who else apologizes to people? FRIENDS, LOVERS, and RANDOM PEOPLE ON THE STREET. im not using it as an excuse. the reason i say its important that she did is because in her case its growth for her character. we dont see that from her so seeing her interract with solely one person in the show like that is VERY important. tyzula were friends since childhood. azula cares about her.

ty lee yes, was pressured into joining azula, i agree. but after that ty lee could've left if she wanted to. she would be strong enough to fend off any gaurd that azula threw her way and i doubt azula would face ty lee herself. she knows and respects ty lee's independance. ty lee isn't playing with azula's card in her hand. let alone her deck. and she wouldn't plan on it solely because she wouldn't need to. you babying ty lee is kind of embarrassing because ty lee can completely take care of herself.

at this point im not even looking at it from a romantic stand point. in general their relationship isn't abusive.

there's more things i could get into but geniunely im so exhausted of fending my ship off from people who dont under either of their characters or their relationship.

and ik non of this will change your mind. but maybe it could save someones opinion when they come across your bullshit explanation.

you're actually kind of a fool. mai and azula had the same stances as azula for their time together. even when ty lee eventually did agree fo go with azula she specifically said, in a bubbly tone, "Well, Azula called louder!" with a bright smile. nothing anxious at all. she constantly berates azula with compliments and praise.

and don't tell me, "oh well mai specifically said she loved zuko more than she feared azula" you know why she said that??? because azula was slipping mentally. ty lee and mai saw that. they, for once, couldn't agree with azulas methods and ideology.

in the beach; there is a specific line where azula says something along the lines of, "im so used to these people worshipping us." and you know what ty lee FLAT OUT SAYS? so bluntly she says, "yes, and they should!" afterwards azula agrees and states that she loves it.

i wrote a whole essay about tyzula in the beach episode and how azula does care and appreciate ty lee. in a short sense it went something like this;

azula is mean which causes ty lee to get upset which is when azula comforts ty lee which is something we don't see her do to ANYONE except zuko. she literally apologizes. im very positive that this is the first, if not only, apology we actually hear from azula. azula even admits her insecurities to ty lee about being jealous. when do we see that again? fucking never. actually never.

and the mirror scene where ursa scolds azula for using fear, azula becomes extremely distressed. she loves ty lee and mai. the only reason the image of ursa brings it up is because ursa is a manifestation of azulas insecurities and intrusive thoughts. it's obvious in the comics too but i won't get into that can of worms.

it's actually sad because you don't go reading actual tyzula shippers arguments about this sort of stuff. even then it's so blatantly in your face that azula genuinely does love and care for ty lee.
