I had a potential roommate that was going to replace the one moving out who bailed last minute, and now the other friend who I got doesn't think they can afford the stupidly expensive security deposit (Not their fault at all). hello hi!!! it's me who asked about the value mapping -> colour theory again... i hope it's ok for me to ask another thing, i just really love your work argndfngdsfg (really no worries if not, your advice before is already plenty!!)

Anyways, I wanted to ask, what was/is your process for studying the human form? What i really admire about your character drawings is how complex and grounded they are, yet they have so much life and personality to them without losing form. It's really inspiring.. just looking at your work i can feel like a strong foundation beneath the characterization and it's v awesome...

i'm currently trying to improve studying anatomy, but i struggle to know what direction to go. My understanding of figures is very gestural, and i struggle to draw complex characters because i haven't studied anatomy enough. How did you go about learning skeletal structure, muscles, etc, without your characters/figures becoming stiff and sort of... idk what the word would be, medical? What was your learning process (ex, going muscle by muscle, doing everything at the same time, just a lot of longer figure drawings)?

Imagine FX Presents: How to Draw and Paint Anatomy

When I first started learning anatomy, I would choose one part of the body—like an arm or leg—and repeatedly break that appendage down until it became easy for me to put everything back together. Doing this helped me learn what I could simplify and what I needed to keep in order to retain the likeness of the limbs form.

Knowing when you can to simplify things, and when you shouldn't, became really important when studying. One of the best methods for me in understanding how to combine form with gesture, is to take a photo of somebody in an interesting pose, and try to draw out—draw over—where the line of action flows through the figure. From there, you can highlight how the form or structure is situated around it. This is where understanding when to simplify things comes into play. Simplifying main structural points like the torso or hips into planes/shapes can make mapping out your form a lot easier without sacrificing the integrity of the pose.

Figure Drawing is another good way of practicing this. Line of Action is a really good site that supplies various photos from which you can choose from and study.

This is what worked for me specifically, though. I recommend watching any of the videos below if you want a more in-depth explanation on some of the things I mentioned.

Henry allowed himself to be captured after stealing a diamond. Though he had always been rude and distant to others, he began to feel deep regret for killing Jonny. He wanted to face the consequences and understand what would he make this choice.

Henry suddenly noticed someone aiming at him from a distance. Realizing it was a sniper, he began to chuckle uncontrollably, then rupert punch him because he think henry chuckling because he happy for killing an officer but a single shot aim to henry head, leaving silence in the room.

Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel

PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS

EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
