Tedromeda fanfics

As time goes by I start to think this is the relationship I am more curious about in the whole HP universe. Ted Tonks is the Hufflepuff whose love and patience won Andromeda’s heart. Andromeda is the Black that got away and, despite the hardships, had a full and happy life. Teddy is her shining star, her beacon, in the end.

Tedromeda is one of the best love stories in canon. And yes, for fancast I really like Keira Knightley and James McAvoy for Andy x Ted.

Below I leave a (long) list of Tedromeda fanfics, some I’ve read, others are still pending. Leave your suggestions!

the lost generation (Chapters 5, 12 and 17) by Jennbob | Multichapters - Ongoing | Wolfstar and Jily | I sincerily worship the way Andromeda is portrayed in these chapters, her relation with Cissy, Sirius and Ted Tonks is, in my opinion, brilliantly explored. In fact, this fanfic does an amazing job in portraying the Black family, Regulus and Alphard Black are two other characters I am particularly fond of in this fanfiction.

Summer of 72’ by @padfoot-prongs-and-polaroids | Multichapters (9 so far) | Ongoing | Tedromeda | This is the story of the summer Andromeda Black and Ted Tonks fell in love. The thing I like the most in this love story is how support characters are developed and their stories intertwined with the two main characters - Andy and Ted. It’s a comforting love story, I am enjoying a lot reading it.

all is quiet in the clearing by slyther_ing | Oneshot | Tedromeda | His one regret, at the end of it all, is that he cannot turn back time and bring them both to the nights when Dora had settled into the deep slumber of a baby and they had watched her ever changing hair. This is a sad-slash-angsty oneshot, but very beautiful and profound about the last moments of Ted Tonks.

waiting in the dark by amberwoods @merflk | Oneshot | Tedromeda | Andromeda’s parents are part of a political movement trying to get Lord Marvolo into power by any means necessary. I’ve been around for a really long time in various fandoms, and no one ever writes this stuff down. I’ll start. Please add to the list. We can’t expect people to follow “rules” they don’t know exist.

Fanart

if you like something, reblog it. Help the artist get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.

if you want more of it, support it. This can be via commissions, reblogs, recommending the artist to other people, shouting in the tags, or sending the artist asks/messages.

if you hate it, keep scrolling. Keep the hate in a message window with a friend, not in the artist’s notes.

if you want to use it, ask permission. Artwork is beautiful and you want to show it off. But please ask the artist before you throw it into your header or your icon.

if you use it, give credit. And not just a post where you say “Do you like my new icon? X made it!”. Put it in your blog description, that way when someone rolls around your blog three months from now, they also know where your icon/header came from.

Fanfic

if you like something, reblog it. Help the author get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.

if you want more of it, support it. Kudos are fine, but if you want more of the thing you like, you should comment. Subscribe to the story or the author. Send them a message about how much you like what they wrote.

if you read it, kudos it. Or give it a thumbs up. And this is just if you managed to get all the way to the end. If you finished the story and you actually liked it? Comment and reblog.

don’t demand content. Be patient. Stories take time. You can encourage without being demanding. Show your love for what’s there without telling them to post more often.

be gentle with criticism. Some people want it and some people run away from it. If you don’t know what type of person the author is, it’s best not to go there. “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything.”

Fandom

ship and let ship. You love your ship and other people love theirs. No one needs to “win” when we’re all going to end up in tears anyway.

if you hate it, stay out of the tag. This has two meanings: 1) don’t deliberately put hateful commentary in a tag and 2) if you hate a tag, don’t go and read through that tag just to make yourself angry

if someone makes you something, appreciate it. Read and comment the fic. Like and reblog the artwork. Pimp it out and tell them how much you loved it. It’s a gift, treat it like one.

if it’s a gift, put some effort into it. You signed up for that exchange three months ago and now it’s a week before you have to send the gift and you don’t have the time or the inclination to do the thing. Well too bad. Someone out there has been working hard in your gift, so you should do the same for them.

none of us are “better” than anyone else. We’re all trash for our particular show/film/book/ship/artist/what-have-you. My fave is no better than yours and yours is no better than mine.

actors are not their characters. They are people. Treat them like people.

Goodbye kiss

Summary: Lately they only share goodbye kisses (or Harry and Ginny's thoughts the day before they break up at Dumbledore's funeral). Sort of missing moment.

Or I was in the mood for some angst.

Harry’s kiss speaks of goodbye, tiny silver bells announcing their relationship is almost over.

Ginny is familiar with ending a relationship. She has had two breakups, after all, and she knows they are a risk at any relationship; she even encourages them when the relationship is going sour. Clean breakups are ideal - no hard feelings, just the acceptance that things didn’t work and now everyone is better on another path.

She remembers how it was with Michael. What they had had been cute at first, even special because he was his first boyfriend and she was his. But that was it; the only thing they ever shared was that beginning.

There wasn’t many feelings between them towards the end. Michael was too occupied with his OWLs and Ginny was too occupied with her Quidditch trainings, so they barely saw each other besides some meetings at the corridor when their schedules coincided. Michael was always at the library, Ginny was always outside and neither seemed to actually miss one another.

And then her efforts in training had actually paid off when Ginny caught the snitch under Cho Chang’s nose. She’d thought that Michael valued competition enough to actually praise her for her performance, but he wasn’t in the mood - and Ginny wasn’t very patient too, she admitted later.

‘If you are so upset that I beat Cho, why don’t you run off to comfort her?’, she’d yelled, annoyed that he was judging her for being actually pleased that they had beaten Ravenclaw.

‘Well, maybe I will’.

‘Do whatever you want, Michael, we are done’.

Michael had done exactly what she had suggested, and then Ginny had felt a tingle of annoyance that was the first real thing she’d felt for Michael Corner in a long time. But it was brief; she was better without him and in any case he was free to go comfort anyone he wanted.

Ginny would never discuss the need for a breakup.

Her breakup with Dean was late. Being with him had been nice for a long time, but a good snog was not enough to make a relationship last.

Things were rocky between them for a longer time than their relationship was good, but they still had feelings for each other, so they had tried. In the end, it had not been really his fault as much as it wasn’t hers; they just weren’t compatible, Ginny eventually realized. Dean wanted someone to pamper and to take care of and Ginny could handle herself just fine. She refused to be the lady in distress Dean somehow hoped she was.

Eventually she would find out that it wasn’t Dean that actually pushed her on the day of their breakup, but Ginny would not complain. Luck or not, their breakup felt necessary, a resolution of a relationship that was going nowhere and that was only damaging the friendship she once had with Dean.

Later Dean would try to talk to her, would want to rekindle their relationship. He might have lingering feelings for what they once had - but the sparkle that had first made them work together was gone.

All her previous relationships had faded so naturally.

Which is probably why this imminent breakup with Harry scares her so much.

She could understand if they had not worked out, if they found out they were better friends than lovers. But those few weeks they spent together only made evident how natural, almost effortless, it was being with Harry; it felt like they were supposed to be together. Dating Harry was a bright spot in the middle of a growing darkness, that Ginny had dared to pretend it would last.

Even knowing, she had hoped for more: they had so little time together, stolen hours that are not nearly enough. Ginny wants the time they never had to argue withhim, to find his faults and to discover what are her quirks that annoy him. She wants to have a bad day to see how they would work things out. She wants the tempestuous days that will show they can overcome any problem. She wants the good days where they will walk every little next step on their relationship.

But they won't have any of it.

Ending things with Michael and Dean had brought her relief. But breaking up with Harry is just… painful. Wrong. Heartbreaking.

Breakups are for when a relationship is bad, not for when in its best glorious days. Breakups are for when people are not in love anymore - and Harry likes her as much as she likes him, that Ginny knows, that she can see in the way he is staring at her, so desperate and so sorry.

He doesn't want to end things with her. But he will.

She can feel in the way he gazes at her these last couple days, or how he sometimes clings to her as if he fears letting her go, or how the joy in his eyes (that had glinted ever since Harry first kissed her) is gone, replaced by a quiet sorrow.

She hears in his voice as he talks to her, the ending always at the tip of his tongue. Not yet, but soon.

This would be easier, so much easier, if she didn't like him so much. If her heart wasn't beating desperately (for more, she wants more of him, always a little more) as she puts her arms around his neck like she has done hundred of times before, her lips touching his tenderly.

But Harry hesitates, his lips trembling and not moving against hers, and Ginny can already hear the parting words she knows he needs to say.

At night, when she can't sleep, she wonders how it will happen. If he is just going to tell her it's over. If he will justify. If he will cry.

If she will cry.

'Harry', she calls him, a soft plead. 'Kiss me'.

One more time, she thinks. We will leave the goodbye for another day.

When she feels Harry finally answering her kiss - his lips are urgent, feverish, needy and so sorry - she hopes for once that another day never comes.

Ginny’s kiss tastes like goodbye.

Harry hates it because it’s all wrong.

They must have exchanged hundreds of kisses by now - there was that first glorious kiss (sunlit, Harry had thought, it tasted like sunlit mournings), the goodnight kisses that tasted of good dreams and the even better good morning kisses that spoke of the possibilities the day brought.

That chaste peck on his cheek when they were in the Great Hall and he had wished her good luck on her exam.

That take-away-your-breath, fumbling-hands, intense snog in the broom cupboard of the sixth floor that tasted like desire and curiosity. The kiss on his bed that was forbidden and wonderful until they were hastily interrupted when Dean and Seamus entered the dormitory and Ginny had to leave under the Invisibility Cloak.

The warm kiss they shared when Ginny took him to the kitchens for a midnight snack and he could savour the hot chocolate on her lips - and then next day, when they had shared a picnic on the grounds, on that bright hot summer day, he had tasted every flavour of the fruits on her lips too. Fresh and sweet and acid.

But never bittersweet like it tastes these days.

Harry knows what he has to do and still he can’t. Not yet.

(Not ever, but he must)

Kissing Ginny is excruating as if lightning - the one in the tower that killed Dumbledore, the one marked forever in his forehead - is striking him, burning him; and yet kissing her still heals too, a phoenix song that fills him with a vain hope.

He tastes the goodbye in every kiss they share these last couple days. It’s Dumbledore’s funeral tomorrow and yet the day is warm, the sun shining on the surface of the lake, none at all caring that Dumbledore is gone and that Harry’s future is dark.

Harry looks away from the lake, his eyes falling on Ginny by his side. She is thoughtful, but when she feels his gaze, she turns to him, the corners of her mouth lifting up as if it is the most natural reaction for her to smile at him. Harry takes in the sight of Ginny - flaming red hair, warm fierce brown eyes, freckles carefully spread on her cheek (and collarbone and a little bit over her breasts, Harry knows) and he thinks this is the sight he wants to take to his heart, to last forever, even if their kisses are counted now.

She approaches him carefully and Harry reacts without even thinking, a second nature now - his arms reach to her, wrapping around her waist while Ginny throws her arms around his neck. Her lips brush over his, softly, the promise of a kiss he knows they will share in a second or too and for that second Harry hesitates, desperate for her lips and fearing it.

Every kiss they share is somehow closer to their last one. He already tastes the goodbye; he is not ready to let that goodbye leave his lips.

Maybe… maybe he can keep it there a little bit longer. Maybe if they kiss, time will stop and he will be able to live in that moment forever. But this will be the kiss that never ends.

‘Harry’, she whispers. Her eyes burn deep. ‘Kiss me’.

As if there is no tomorrow, he hears in her voice. As if it’s not the last time. As you always kissed me.

And Harry does.

After blasting you all with angst, I figured it’d be nice to share some brilliant funny and general stories. Also, I realized belatedly that a lot of my gen stories count as missed moments too, but…most of my Missed Moment recs were Hinny-specific, so I’ve separated them.

I love, love, love the trope that people can tell who people really are under Polyjuice Potion based on how well they know each other. So how good is Harry at recognizing Ginny?

Missed Moments: I read this amazing story last summer, and it is still by far one of my favorite Weasley stories. It focuses on the summer after the diary, all the brothers in Egypt trying to figure out they can help Ginny. This is the first story I’ve read that really made me completely see and love the Weasley boy dynamics. I loved all their relationships, but especially Ron and Ginny’s. I burst into tears when Ron finally told all the brothers what happened during CoS and Bill railed on all of them for failing to take care of their baby sister. Run, don’t walk, to read this!

Meeting with Dumbledore by @floreatcastellumposts

Missed Moments: This is such an amazing moment of when Molly goes to Dumbledore requesting to have Harry go straight to the Burrow for the holidays. I’ve always been taken aback by the amount of fandom hate for Molly when she was such an amazing maternal figure to Harry. This story broke my heart for how much Harry was hurting, but also how much it hurt Molly to not be able to take him in. (I’m crying just writing this summary!)

The How and the Why by fluffernutter8

Not strictly gen (there’s James/Lily, Harry/Ginny) but this is mostly a beautiful ode to James and Lily, their love for Harry, and his love back. It gets me every time.

A Family Affair by @remedial-potions

Missed Moments: I rarely read stories that aren’t Harry/Ginny focused (as most of you know), but this story. This story really hit me hard. Molly wants Bill to invite Percy to his wedding. It illuminates so much about these characters and how deep the wounds run. The writing is a beautiful example of showing, not telling. It really brought to life these characters and their perspectives, and reminded me about the wonderful power of building empathy through reading and writing.

Things that feel like home by @lytefoot

Next Gen: A lovely moments where Harry returns home after a field mission. Ahhh the family feels! Harry getting to be happy and relaxed makes my heart melt.

Fight Them Soft by @ellizablue

I really love this Snape & Ginny-centric story (NOT Snape/Ginny) that shows why Ginny would be okay naming one of her children after him. It has a very realistic portrayal of the hell that was Ginny’s sixth year, Snape’s internal struggles, and then the cutest depiction of Harry and Ginny as they are figuring out what to name their second child. This hit all the emotions just right for me.

An Absence Of Vegetables by Majick

To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure where to put this story, but it’s a lovely story of Harry getting to be a boy. And Harry & Ron brotp for life!

谢天谢地詹姆没被香槟呛着。

“说说看，你俩最近有见过面吗？”格拉汉姆依旧不罢休。

“没……”詹姆把香槟一饮而尽，用嘲弄的口气回答。

“我的天哪，本年度的惊天大新闻出现了，”格拉汉姆大手一挥，“因为亲爱的莉莉·伊万斯女士将在本次节目上宣/传她的第一张个人专辑，Tainted ВLood[2]。那么女士们先生们，让我们以热烈的掌声欢迎知名女歌手莉莉·伊万斯——”

掌声如雷，粉丝们的尖/叫是那么热切，镁光灯下，莉莉·伊万斯从容地走上舞台，她站定的那一刻又是一波震耳欲聋的掌声。詹姆吸了口饮料，感觉自己下一秒就要窒/息了……

“该死，他们可没说伊万斯要来！”嘈杂的响声中，詹姆瞪了西里斯一眼，“至少，他们没跟我说。”

“他们多半是说了，”西里斯给了人群一个甜甜的微笑，“我忘了说，詹姆，不好意思是我的错——我的错——”

詹姆涨红了脸。

“什么！？”

“小疏忽，别放在心上~”

“你管这叫小疏忽！”詹姆的声调越来越高，“这就是你所谓的小疏忽！？”

西里斯耸了耸肩，站起身来去给了莉莉一个热切的拥/抱：“啊，伊万斯，好久不见啊。”

“你也是，布莱克，”她摇着头环顾四周，仿佛已经料到了将要产生的麻烦。

詹姆咬紧牙关，出于礼貌他还是假惺惺地说了一句：“噢，伊万斯。”

“波特，”她以一个假笑回/复了他。

“各位观众，今/晚的嘉宾可真是太有趣、太可爱了。”格拉汉姆像极了一只吃尽奶油的猫咪，沾沾自喜地对观众说。

詹姆笑了，鬼知道他在想什么，这人肯定气坏了。

“那莉莉，跟我说说Snily[3]解散之后的事儿吧，”格拉汉姆问她，语气愉快又健谈，“不妨从西弗勒斯离开后说起。”

“呃……”詹姆小声嘟囔。

很不幸的是他那灵敏的麦克风完美地接收到了这个声音（并把它扩大了好几倍），莉莉·伊万斯翠绿的眼睛一下子就盯住了他，投来一个掏心掏肺的眼神。

“说句实话这棒极了！”她很快便回过神来，甩了甩她棕褐色的长发，面带微笑。

“我知道你并不想说你和西弗勒斯为何分道扬镳，”格拉汉姆喝了一小口香槟，“但是……”

“我们都等着八卦呢，”西里斯插了一嘴，“她肯定不想说但我百分之二百地好奇。”

莉莉换了个坐/姿，显然被戳到了软肋。

“上帝啊，”詹姆低声说，“放了她吧。”

他倒霉的话筒又一次把这句话扩大了无数遍给观众��。整句话！观众全听得一清二楚！他无助地埋下头，脸红的厉害。

“呃，实在抱歉。”

“没关系的。”莉莉似乎柔和了很多。

“那……我们还是聊聊她的新专辑吧，”詹姆试图借机转移众人的注意力，用命令的口吻对格拉汉姆·诺顿提议道。

“他不乐意，我们吵了架然后……我就不想再和他合作下去了。他写得歌的确很棒，我希望他能够……喏，我就说了那么多，然后我俩就解散了，仅此而已。”

观众纷纷为她鼓掌。

“那么说说你的专辑，”格拉汉姆风度翩翩地问她，“里面有什么你很喜欢的歌曲吗？”

“要我说……有些是挺吸引人的，例如……”

“废话，”詹姆交叉着双臂说。

“你说什么？”詹姆很确信如果莉莉的眼神能杀/人的话，此刻他已经不复存在了。

“呃……我说……就几个吗？那里头的好多歌都很棒，伊万斯，你知道的！Charms是我几年来听到的最引人注目的歌，Francis的曲调虽是柔和，但的确是一首佳作！Hollow的歌词实在是让人赞不绝口，Me也十分有代入感，情感很是真挚……我……”他说到一半，尴尬地低下头去打量自己的双手。

“我还不知道你粉莉莉·伊万斯呢！”格拉汉姆瞪圆了眼，“Snily和Risky几乎要把奖项挣了个遍，谁都以为你们两个乐队水土不容哎——”

“我当然是她的粉丝，她令人震/惊……哦不，惊人地棒。”

西里斯和格拉汉姆努力不笑出声。

“谢啦，詹姆，这对我而言意义很大。”莉莉伸出手，捏了捏他的膝盖。

观众席里传来几声“哦”“啊”和咯咯的偷笑声。

“真是这样！”詹姆给了她一个��笑。

演播室的灯光下，他看起来那么英俊，他凌/乱的头发看起来那么性/感，褐色的眼睛闪烁着恶作剧的光芒，被她赞美时他那黝/黑的皮肤闪闪发光。

她冲他笑了笑，忍俊不禁。

“我以为你恨我呢，”她的目光差点要把他催眠。

“哦不，他才不呢，”西里斯往椅子上沉沉一靠，饶有趣味地看着两人。

“恰恰相反。”

她开始抚/弄空笛杯，不时玩/弄着她的耳环和垂在耳边的发/丝。

“那你为什么总是那么……”

她是那么的平和，好像房间里只有她和他一样。

“那么弱/智，跟个傻/瓜似的？”詹姆把她没说完的话接了上来，“那是因为我爱上了你，你却恨透了我，也只有一时的放纵才能吸引你眼神咯。”

“你说……什么”她张/开嘴，半天都说不出一句完整的话来。

“哦她可没有，”格雷厄姆咧嘴笑了。

人群中爆发出一阵爆笑。

“我当然没有！”莉莉的双手抱在她天鹅绒的胸前，“你确实太自大了，跟斯内普比起来你连废物都不是，但我从不恨你。”

“你不恨我？”詹姆目不转睛地看着她。

她向前倾了倾身/子，现在他们之间的距离很小，以至于两人几乎可以触到彼此。

“从来没有，”她解释说，“我对你很着迷。”

詹姆 · 波特咽了口唾沫，向他的朋友西里斯发射/了一个求助的神色。这个傻/瓜耸了耸肩，慵懒地靠着沙发，只顾看戏，什么也没做。

“真的吗?”

“你以为Bed Head[4]是谁啊，波特?”

她绿色的眸子闪闪发亮。

他清了清嗓子，支支吾吾地答道：“呃……呃……”

“是的没错，就是你呀，”

“你真是个大好人，”他压低了声音，迫使她探过头来听他说话。

“对不起，再说一遍？”

“你真是个大好人[5]，就，我那首火了很久的歌？”

“是的我知道，”她笑着说，“怎么了。”

“其实它……它是关于你的。我们都配不上你，尤其是我，我就想借那首歌表达这些……”他猛然意识到一架录像机正记录着他的一言一行，立马停了下来。

她笑了，看起来吃了个大惊，可她却很是优雅，犹如一朵温暖的玫瑰花。

“别傻了，波特，斯内普根本不该那么骂你。”她嗤之以鼻。

“骂我？他说出你们父母都是仇外的移民时，可真是太过分了！”詹拇眯起眼睛，“老实说，他对我说的那些话都是我活该。西里斯也是。”

西里斯一副惶恐的表情，却知趣地没表态。

“不，你可不是那样的！”莉莉说，“我早就该发现他对你的描述中有一半都是假话，另一半则是废话！对不起，格雷厄姆，”她看了看主持人，“我希望这不会给你惹上麻烦。”

格拉汉姆并不在意。

“我爱上了你，而我应该做得更好的……”詹姆说，“我被你迷住了，我……”

莉莉·伊万斯站起身。

“我还爱着你，詹姆，抱歉我没早些跟你……”她低声说。

“见鬼，伊万斯。”

他向前一步。

“我爱你，伊万斯。”

他柔声细语。

这时天花板上掉下一串不知从哪儿冒出来的槲寄生，可他们无暇顾及这些，人们都笑个不停。

“我知道，波特，”她一边说，一边把手埋到他厚厚的黑发里，使劲吻了他一下。

他环住她的脖颈，一个劲亲/吻她，直到她喘不过气来才放手。

“我再也不会让你离开了，永远不会，伊万斯。”他低沉的声音在她耳边低语。

“你也走不开，波特，你属于我。”她抓紧了他的红色领带，闭紧双/唇。

观众们都快疯了，他们尖/叫着，吹着口哨，又是挥手又是跺脚地表示同意。

西里斯·布莱克和格雷厄姆·诺顿得意洋洋地碰了碰杯。

“圣诞快乐，伊万斯。”

“提前祝你新年快乐，波特。”

A Little Risk by @blitheringmcgonagall . I’m really looking forward to starting this...it’s a murder mystery AU set in the 1930s featuring the Marauders.

Canon Compliant Jily by @authorpetalstosarah . These are canon-verse Jily one shots and I love every one that I’ve read!

Miss The Most by LilyEvansJan30 . Canon-verse but alternate timeline Harry/Ginny story where Sirius lives (!!) and Harry and Ginny are accidentally magically bonded even though they don’t really want to be (yet). I love this story so much, and it’s even better than I’m describing it, lol.

Aw, so nice

My Favourite Current Fics For February!

I liked doing it last month so I think I’m going to make it a monthly thing, reccing my top 5 favourite WIPs for the coming month.

1. Eighteen Again - @scriibble-fics (Jily) OMFG!!!!! It’s perfection. Everything this author writes is brilliant but Eighteen Again really takes the biscuit. I’m so bloody in love with everything about this story, it’s truly incredible (the smut is off the charts!)

2. Eternal Summer - @missgryffin (Jily) I found this the other week and binge read all 100k words in one night- it’s that good! The writing is brilliant and the smut just as much so. It’s got everything you could want from Head Boy/Girl Jily.

3. Jily Lives AU Series - @startanewdream (Jily) I love this so so much! I live for Jily lives au and this series is perfect! We get to see James and Lily being the best parents to Harry, and a Harry who has grown up so loved. The latest in the series (part 8) had the most gorgeous scene with Lily and Harry and it’s all canon for me now.

4. Edge of Seventeen - @nichester (Jily) LILY AND SIRIUS FRIENDSHIP ALERT! I am an absolute sucker for anything with Lily and Sirius being close and this fic has got it perfect. It’s after the Prank™ so Sirius is alone and he and Lily end up bonding, and I just can’t tell you how much I love it.

5. Entombed - @seriouslysam8 (Hinny) We’ve got two chapters and I love it already, but that was a given because we knew after Brontide, whatever came next would be just as good. I reckon I know who the kidnappers are but I’m so excited to see if I’m right and how Harry is going to work the case. Teddy and James once again are stealing my heart as the cutest brother duo.

I don’t know what is says about me that my two of my top fics have so much smut in them, but it is some of the best I have ever read so 🤷🏼‍♀️

But seriously, like I said last month, these writers are all so incredible and I can’t believe I get to read their stuff for free! I literally would not have gotten through this last year without people like this, and considering I’m still in lockdown and likely to be for months yet, I can’t wait to treated with more of these treasures.

金妮不确定该不该回答，但还是点了点头。“以最快的速度出发去基由福那里。”尽管她妈妈勉强挤出了一个笑容，她看起来还是有一点担忧。

“你确定你不需要——”金妮的话刚出口，就被莫莉的一挥手打断了。

“不，不，别傻了。用麻瓜的方式干，还怪令人放松的……对了，你为什么不和我说说你的N.E.W.T课程呢？都这时候了，你总该选好了吧。”

金妮更希望她们能回答到那种安静里。“呃……是啊，但我猜那就得看我的成绩了。”

“我希望你专注了，金妮。”莫莉严肃地说，怀疑地看着金妮，“而不是天天只顾着和哈利玩这玩那。也许你没在信里说什么，罗纳德可说了。”

“那不是——”金妮气愤地反驳，“他不应该——再说那个已经不重要了！”

莫莉举起手来示意她安静。“我知道。你真的觉得我没注意到吗？我知道这件事情的来龙去脉，早就知道了。”

“你是说罗恩视角的故事，不是我的。所以不是整个故事。”

她母亲的神色变得更加具有同情了。“喏，我刚把这件事提起来，不是吗？现在只有我们两个啊。”她走到桌旁，坐在低头研究桌面的金妮身边。弗雷德和乔治曾在这里刻下属于他们的痕迹，现在金妮的手指拂过这些粗糙，笔直的刻痕。“我必须知道，金妮。那好吧，在哈利来之前，我必须知道，也就是你必须告诉我，这对你来说没问题吧。”

“当然没有。”突然一个恐怖的念头闪过，“你不会要告诉他吧，你真的要这么做吗？”

莫莉给了她的头一个摇动。“真的，金妮，我挺知道那个男孩的，我想他也不会因为那个结尾而开心……不过我们都知道，那是最明智的选择。”

金妮咬着颤抖的嘴唇，感到异常的羞涩，或许是难堪，愧疚。她不会为这件事而哭泣，对谁也不会，她母亲也不例外。她深吸了一口气。“嗯，这个是很合理。赫敏和我试图散布一些谣言，说事情远远困难得多。你懂的，让它更有说服力一些……”

“你知道吗。”做妈妈的轻松愉快地说，“罗恩和赫敏只能给我一个旁观者的角度。我很想直接从我的女儿那里听一听她的first venture into love。”

金妮脸红了。“我以前也是有过BF的，妈妈。”

“好吧，但是就算那样也没事。我们要等一会，所以你可以从头到尾把这件事给我讲一讲。当我去迎接哈利时，我会记得的。”

金妮哼了一声。一个完美的，哈利面对韦斯莱夫人的怒吼的景象浮现出来，在她脑海里游荡着。“哦，别啊！他会直接回苏里的！”

可怕的回忆，唱歌的矮人和黄油般的胳膊肘，不请自来地把自己推到了金妮的面前，她能感觉到自己的脸颊因尴尬而变得火辣辣的。“是的，好吧，那更多的是我有点像明星，不是吗？不管怎样，谁知道他要离开多久啊。”

莫莉的举止变化很快“哦，别听罗恩的，”她厉声说，“这些傻孩子们，他们脑子里想的是，他们可以在没有认真思考的情况下进行一次大冒险。”

“赫敏也要走了……”金妮狡黠地说。

“我很惊讶，但是——”她的声音颤抖着。她看了一眼手表，突然变灰了天哪，我……我不知道我们谈了多久……“她转过身来，看着后门。”他们随时都会回来的。”

他们一起走到厨房的水槽边，朝下面的院子里张望。金妮的心好像要掉下去了。一种生锈的油可以无辜地躺在粗糙的石板上。

沉默又像一个不受欢迎的来访者一样回来了，胸中一种冰冷、紧绷的感觉提醒金妮，她真的很害怕：“没事的，妈妈，”她的语气是平静的，“这是一个绝妙的计划。”

“但那应该是罗恩的！”莫莉尖叫着，哭了起来，“他为什么错过了？唐克斯和他在一起，他们应该到这儿了……”

但是时间继续流逝，陋居的花园仍然非常平静。一道短暂的蓝色闪光，一只老掉牙的小狗不知从哪里掉到了地上。莫莉颤抖地喘了口气，抓住金妮的胳膊亚瑟……弗雷德……“她从围裙里掏出一张皱巴巴的羊皮纸，用颤抖的双手展开。”是的，看到了吗？看到了吗？他们注定会在这里！”

金妮受不了“来吧，妈妈，”她轻轻地说，试图消除自己的恐惧我们坐在桌子旁吧。端口键很容易丢失。“来吧……”莫莉抽泣着喘着粗气，努力使自己平静下来，不耐烦地擦干眼泪。金妮感到头晕。在她的脑海里，她想象着外面的院子里，有几十个掉落的门钥匙，静静地落在地上。

莫莉说：“复方汤剂估计也已经用完了。”我希望——”话音未了，外面的一声巨响让他们跳了起来，莫莉尖叫了一声。金妮觉得自己好像也能尖叫，她能感觉到喉咙后面的恐惧和绝望，她想摆脱它。他们跑到门前，莫莉用一只大动物的力气把门拧开，然后匆匆走下台阶。

哈利站在那里，看上去很迷茫，很紧张，微微摇晃，海格正从地板上爬起来。金妮以前从未经历过快乐和恐惧，但当哈利抬头看着她时，她几乎无法描述自己的感受。

“哈利？你是真正的哈利？怎么了？其他人呢？”她妈妈叫道。

哈利看起来吓坏了，金妮感到想再次尖叫起来的欲望。她听哈利解释，他的声音哀求和苦恼，看着母亲把他拉进一个拥抱。她母亲冲进屋子给海格拿白兰地，金妮抓住机会向哈利解释他们的恐惧，她愿意保持冷静。

“妈妈！”她指着明亮的蓝光喊道。海格放下了白兰地酒杯，哈利转过身去看她指的方向，莫莉急忙向前走去。卢平和乔治出现了，当她看到哈利朝他们冲过来，并抓住乔治的腿时，她激动的心情顿时消失不见了，就像有人在她头上泼了一盆凉水。金妮模模糊糊地意识到了血的存在，她把他们扶进了屋子，却不知道自己在做什么，但当光线照射到她哥哥身上时，她看到眼前的景象就气喘吁吁。

弗雷德和乔治不再是一模一样的了，好像他们彼此的身份都已经被偷走了。乔治失踪的耳朵给他烙上了个人的烙印，给他留下了终身的烙印，鲜血的深红与他姜黄色的头发发生了可怕的碰撞。她想哭，但想不起来；她能听到卢平和海格在后台大喊大叫，哈利在争吵，但她不能从这场灾难，这场黑暗的伤害中流泪。她内心的某些东西被唤醒，突然的平静促使她采取行动。她能听到外面的扭打声，但她的注意力集中在帮助母亲，止血和清洗伤口上。乔治脸色苍白，每一个雀斑都比以往任何时候都更显眼，但当他们照料他时，她对他的存在和他那稳定的脉搏感到越来越放心，因为她擦去他脖子上的血时，她能在手指下感觉到他的脉搏。
