How To Write the Date: And Other

Hello everyone! I am back today to teach some vocab! Here we will learn the days, weeks-months, and year!

Day: 날 / 일

아침 - morning

저녁 - evening 

~ can also be used as dinner - 저녁음식

오늘 - today

매일 - every day

동안 - for, while, during

날 / 일 - day

하루 - one day

이틀 - two days

사흘 - three days

내일 - tomorrow 

어제 - yesterday

Month: 월 / 달

지난 주 - last week

지난 달 / 월 - last month

이번 주 - this week

이번 달 / 월 - this month

다음 주 - next week

다음 달 / 월 - next month

Year: 년

지난 년 - last year

이번 년 - this year

다음 년 - next year

Days of the Week:

월요일 - monday

화요일 - tuesday

수요일 - wednesday

목요일 - thursday

금요일 - friday

토요일 - saturday

일요일 - sunday

Months:

~ essentially, month means 월, and we use SINO- Korean number system to differentiate each

일월 - january (one month)

이월 - february (two month)

삼월 - march (three month)

사월 - april (four month)

Sample Sentences:

저는 매일 한국어를 공부해요 - I study Korean every day.

좋은 아침(입니다) - good morning

저는 어제 학교에 갔다 - I went to school yesterday

저는 이번 달에는 내 생일이 있다 - I have my birthday this month

This has been on my mind for a while and as an ally of the LGBT community, I would like to express my gratitude. There is great bravery and courage in being who you are - with anyone really - but I cannot express enough how wonderful and amazing YOU are. I understand that I have a lot of people who identify as part of the LGBT community and I would like to say,

I am proud of you and I support you.

You’ve done well, you’ve fought hard, and you live strong. Pride month is just around the corner (June), and to get you ready I’ve compiled a list of Korean LGBT+ Vocab for you to practice. Enjoy ~

성지향성 - sexual orientation  엘지비티 - LGBT 동성애자 - homosexual 동성 - same-sex 여성 동성애자 / 레즈비언 - lesbian 남성 동성애자 / 게이 - gay 양성애자 / 바이섹슈얼 - bisexual 범성애자 / 팬섹슈얼 - pansexual 무성애자 - asexual 동성결혼 - same-sex marriage 커밍아웃을 하다 - to come out 성소수자 / 퀴어* - queer 이성애자 - heterosexual 성전환자 - transexual      ~ *퀴어 - queer is a better translation as      성소수자 means sexual minority

성정체성 - gender identity  에이젠더 - agender 젠더플루이드 - gender fluid 넌바이너리 - nonbinary  양성적/ 앤드로지너스 - androgynous 성전환자 / 트랜스젠더* - transgender  트랜스맨 - trans man  트랜스우먼 - trans woman 생물학적 성 - biological sex 시스젠더 - cisgender 성별 - gender 전한중 - transitioning     ~ * again, 트랜스젠더 is a better translation for      transgender, because 성전환자 means ‘sex change patient’

Example Sentences: 저는 ‘x’입니다. - I am ‘x’. 저는 너를(널) 지지합니다 - I support you. 잘했습니다 - you did well 화이팅 / 파이팅 - fighting!

★ Space Vocab - 우주 어휘★

Hello Everyone! Jiyeon and I were talking about the stars yesterday! The very first Korean song I learned was 반짝반짝 작은별 (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) and how I wanted to know more about space in Korean. So I thought, why not! Let’s learn some space vocab!

VOCAB: ★ 태양계 - solar system ★ 우주 - universe / space ★ 은하수 - milky way    ★ 은하계 - galaxy ★ 해 (native korean) / 태양 (sino korean) - sun ★ 달 - moon ★ 행성 - planet ★ 지구 - earth ★ 화성 - mars ★ 수성 - mercury ★ 목성 - jupiter ★ 금성 - venus ★ 토성 saturn ★ 천왕성 - uranus ★ 해왕성 - neptune ★ 명왕성 - pluto ★ 별- star  ★ 외계인 - alien

Example Sentences: 1. 별이 아름답게 빛으네요 - The stars shine beautifully 2. 명왕성은 행성이에요? - Is Pluto a planet? 3. 우리는 모두 외계인이에요 - We are all aliens!
