don't usually post traditional or incomplete art here , but i haven't posted zplo in a while and i felt i needed to amend that (* ´ ▽ ` *)ゞ here are some doodles from the past few months !!

Does Zapp enjoy Leo's lil tum tum, or does he make fun of it, only to get poked and called out for having no waistline room to talk himself?

he likes it !! he thinks it's cute , and it's leo , after all , so he has no room to complain either way . leo's a tiny bit self-conscious for a little while i think , so zapp makes sure not to make that any worse and to improve leo's self-image as best he can ( not that he'll ever admit that he cares ) so the only real teasing that happens is zapp whispering embarrassing compliments in public places to get leo flustered . this doesn't stop leo from poking fun at the fact that zapp is built like a toothpick though

So what exactly is different in Leo Joins Libra Early AU beyond the fact that Leo joins early?

oh you have opened the floodgates my friend . i haven't done much actual story planning in this au but i've still got quite a bit

( disclaimer : this is a very leo + zapp centric au so i may ramble about them a bit too much )

first of all , the way that leo finds libra isn't the same mistaken-for-another-member shtick that happens in canon . a fight between zapp and some rampaging demon-creature results in one of the walls of leo's apartment collapsing and leo gets even more caught up in the situation when zapp gets buried under the debris and leo steps in to dig him out , avoiding the monster's quick attacks with enough precision to pique zapp's interest . after the battle is over the fact that zapp is working for a few monster hunters comes up , which gets leo interested , and he ends up crashing at klaus and steven's office for a few days , during which he is formally welcomed into libra . i actually have this little prologue written that i haven't posted yet , if that interests anyone

as for leo himself : given that he's three years younger when he moves to hl in this au ( 18 to be exact ) and that he hasn't been in the city for as long before he joins libra , i think he's a bit more naïve and trusting but also a bit jumpier and more paranoid , given that he hasn't adapted to the eyes yet . he has people there to comfort him while he figures out the ins and outs of being all-seeing , though , which i just think is nice :3 knowing that he had to go through all that alone in canon kinda destroys me

also !! i'm thinking of expanding more on his interest in photography and attempts ( and failures ) at photojournalism . i imagine it's hard to find freelance work when it's been at most a couple months since the apocalypse

i need to do a bit more thinking about what role he plays in the early development of libra ( which may change depending on how much backstory nightow gives us in the coming chapters ) but i think leo's dynamics with klaus and steven will change too , just not as drastically as with zapp ( who has a far different personality when he first joins )
