Based in Menlo Park, California, Leslie Koonce is an experienced insurance and risk management professional. He founded his financial advisory firm, Koonce Financial Services, in 1982. As the firm’s owner, Leslie Koonce provided financial planning services including investment portfolio management and insurance to hundreds of clients.
Over the course more than 40 years, Mr. Koonce established himself as an expert in the field of insurance. Peninsula Life Underwriters named him Insurance Professional of the Year. Additionally, he is a member of several councils such as the Peninsula Estate Planning Council. He also served as the president of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce for several years.
Mr. Koonce earned a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting from Campbell University. Outside his professional life, he enjoys various sports including golf and tennis. An avid runner, he has completed the New York Marathon three times.
Mr. Koonce gives back to the community through his volunteer work. For example, he established community initiatives to help those who are homeless such as the Christmas meal program, which has been running for 15 years. He is also involved in educational organizations, presiding as a board member at the Jean Weingarten School for the Deaf and co-teaching finance classes at Sequoia High School.
