Sge movie spoilers!
So yeah they took out a lot of things from the school for good and evil movie (my other post goes into more detail) but you know ONE THINF they TOTALLY COULDVE KEPT AS THE SCENE WAS EVEN IN THE MOVIE was
“A princess doesn’t save a prince, I can’t change the world if I’m dead.” - Sophie
“THEN WHY DID SHE?” - Tedros
Would it have hurt them to add that line in THEY WERE LITERALLY RIGHT THERE. The tagatha development was SO BAD I don’t even want to talk about it. You bet I’ll still be editing them though because they were my book FAVES

I think I am a half-fortune teller or something. I wrote this 4 years and 8 months ago on the movie casting place on the SGE website!!!
At the time, I was super into the Into The Woods movie (hence Lilla Crawford who played little red riding hood) and The Sound of Music (Sophia was one of the Von Trapp children for that TV performance with Carrie Underwood all those years ago).
Also, I blanked out my username just because I don’t want this account and the other to be connected because I wrote a RP on that account that I cringe at now

I've seen a few cool posts about magic in SGE recently and since we have no real rules for it, I figured I'd share my headcanons about it:
Magic is blood-borne, the same way hormones and oxygen etc are, which is why you need strong emotions to cast spells, bc generally they increase your heart rate, so it increases the intensity of your magic power
(it also explains why blood is so important in the magic of the SGE series)
This is why Hester's demon is so closely linked to her and drains her a lot, bc it takes her blood in order to be able to do shit, it's literally a part of her. It's on her neck bc it's close to an artery which can provide blood, and therefore magic, easily
Most Never talents are physical, or very powerful, magic (Hester's demon, Ravan's 10 heads, etc) bc in general Nevers have a higher concentration of magic in their bloodstreams (bc Nevers married for power not love)
And since Evers put more stock into like. Love. (And also swordplay and actual physical battle stuff) a lot of Ever families have more diluted magic proficiency (like the Pendragons, which is why Tedros doesn't have a talent and is a bit crap at magic)
Agatha and Sophie are so powerful because they're literally MADE from magic, so their blood is absolutely off the shits and Agatha singlehandedly boots magic proficiency back into the Pendragon line
Man-wolves come from families which are very proficient at mogrification or have done it so much that they've actually meddled with the makeup of their blood and made it inclined to mogrify
People have more trouble casting spells if they're tied up bc the bloodflow is being cut off-- obviously if you're really powerful it's not so bad but

These boys… They’re Chaddick’s brothers, aren’t they?
“Aunt Grisella” … Gremlaine was Chaddick’s aunt? No wonder she was nice to him in that flashback :(

Sophie 👸🏼💖 and Agatha 👸🏻🖤 on a vacation!! 🌊🏖
I was able to finish this in one day because of all the intensive support I got from Amino group for The School for Good and Evil by Sir @somanc 😭💗 I’ve always liked painting clothes for them because of how different and the same they both are in many ways haha.

ACOT TRAILER ANALYSIS
THE SCHOOL YEARS:
I’m gonna start with what feels most natural to me; the callbacks to the previous trilogy. We got the original rhyme from the first trailer (except with “two towers like twin heads, one for the good, one for the wicked” removed… I’ll get to that later), and the voice is older, more mature than the first trailer… Not sure if it’s significant, but it’s a fun detail. We’re growing up with the books! And the schools… The callback to the beginning of it all feels odd and rather significant. Almost like something I said a while ago… hmm….
No I’m joking fhfhf, but I’m definitely interested to see the significance of the school’s return, especially now we’re in the Camelot Years…
Another callback is this;
Tumblr media
An army on stymphs, like in TLEA. But if this
Tumblr media
Is anything to go by, I don’t think Merlin is gonna be conducting them this time… :(
Statues
I think the continued use of statues for our main characters (which I didn’t expect!) represents worship / fame / admiration. The shadowy King Rhian isn’t a statue, and neither are the snakes, because they’re not fairy tale heroes. They’re famous for the Tale of Sophie and Agatha, for their heritage and their message and their story. And now, with the exception of Agatha (did you notice that? She’s not crumbling), their legacies and reputations are collapsing. Their statues are collapsing, and in time, they will have no significance, no impact and no resonance in the grand scheme of things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tedros, Hort (…right?) What I seem to notice is they all look… well… Evil. I know Hort’s a Never, but we know that you can be a Never and still be a hero in these books. They’re all villains. Not Nevers. Villains. In the eyes of Rhian and the woods. Perceptions matter here.
If you saw them without knowing they were the heroes, would you know they were the heroes? Or would you think they were the villains? I said this before in the poster analysis- they’re all bathed in red, which is an Evil colour. Tedros is almost all red. So is Hort. Agatha and Sophie are more half and half.
(DISCLAIMER; could just be lighting lmao… Either way, it looks cool)
But WAIT! It might not be just lighting, because the Ever swan has blue eyes, and the Never swan has red eyes….
Tumblr media
(Actually, this is Hort’s first time being in a trailer, 5 books in. Looks like he’s got an important role to play, this time.)
Obviously, you would think that they couldn’t be seen as villains, because their stories are out there showing them doing Good stuff… But maybe that’s what the false Storian is for.
Tumblr media
And wouldn’t you agree that there’s not really a white swan on there anymore?? Is Good really a thing? Or is it just a different shade of Evil?
“Two towers like twin heads/ one for the good, one for the wicked” is removed, like I said earlier. Could just be that they didn’t want to put the whole poem in, but it seems odd that all of it but that was there… Maybe it’s removed because that distinction is removed and no longer relevant. Sophie holds the most powerful Evergirl role in the Woods. Agatha is on the run. Tedros is accused of being a traitor to his own kingdom.
And if this is the Lady of the Lake, and not Sophie (I initially thought of Sophie, but to be fair I didn’t notice the lilypads first watch), and she’s gone Evil… She’s one of the most powerful Good forces that exists. She guards Avalon, she forged Excalibur… If she’s gone Evil, who can possibly be Good now?

Crystal Balls and Time
In my brief research, I hit a couple different opinions on crystal balls and their uses;
One scryer, Gina Jean, says that the point of using a crystal ball is for empowerment and guidance, rather than for an all-seeing eye into the future.
As she reads, Allen will see symbols that reflect a bigger picture, rather than seeing distinct events that occurred in the past or that have yet to unfold.
No doubt Soman has done his research…and then said “haha bollocks to that” and done his own thing, but I’ll work with what I’ve got. I think that ball is going to give Agatha potential futures and glimpses into the past, that will help with the current mess and the whole Arthur/Guinevere/ Lancelot /Merlin/Gremlaine/Tedros/Rhian thing. But Beware of Time? I think it’s going to tell her something she really doesn’t want to know, and is gonna change everything, or send her down a path she doesn’t want to be on.
Last thing;
Tumblr media
Who are you??????
Either:
Arthur
Someone new
Rhian (probs not)
Japeth
The Good Brother
Aric (ew)
Representation of Time itself
Death
Either way, it appears that someone really doesn’t want Agatha knowing whatever that can tell her…
More if I think of it! The Time thing is really hard to predict because it’s so ambiguous…

Tedros is not Arthur’s son: the crackpot theory that makes loads of* (*some) sense (QFG spoilers)
This sounds like crap I know, but here we go. @sabrinaofwoodsbeyond and I came up with this the other day and I’m fully invested*
(*this has been in my drafts for literal months, and I’ve forgotten everything I didn’t write down right away lmao so this is kinda messy)
Point 1. Tedros doesn’t look like Arthur.
Uh, Kate, yeah he does!
No, he doesn’t. He looks like the new Arthur. The blonde, muscular bloke who came back from the school. He doesn’t look like the Arthur in the coronation portrait- the scrawny, red-faced kid who looks like this:
Tumblr media
Hardly the spitting image, huh? Yeah, I know, people change, but no amount of press-ups and curling irons can change your genes. Tedros has been hot af the whole time. From 14 y.o (I think) first year to 16 year old King to 16 ½ y.o ex-King stuck in a dungeon. TLEA spent a rather odd amount of time describing how much Tedros looked like Guinevere, actually, even suggesting his eye colour came from her, even though in AWWP Agatha noticed that Arthur in the flashback looked loads like Tedros (“recognised the King from the square jaw and crystal-blue eyes he’d passed on”)
Know which other parent was a spitting image of their kid?
Callis, who changed herself to look like Agatha to deflect suspicion.
What if Guinevere did the same to Tedros? (but like, the other way round, kid to parent)
No kid looks that much like their parents. Not exactly the same. (And also if Guinevere has dark hair- “mousy brown” I think? - shouldn’t Tedros not be blond? Isn’t blond a recessive gene or something?)
Which make you wonder… why would Tedros look so close?
What if he’s not Arthur’s son, and Guinevere knew it?
So, who’s kid is he?
Well, who else was Guinevere sneaking around with?
2. People who died, especially in Book 4, will matter. (Soman said this on ENTV- I DIDN’T FORGET!)
This one’s pretty straightforward. Say Tedros was Lancelot’s and had been changed, albeit carelessly, to look like Arthur. Arthur would assume the kid was his, naturally. This would make Lancelot relevant again in Books 5 and 6, and add more weight to this quote:
“-you’re someone’s son too.” Said the knight pulling the young king to his feet.
“Whose?” Tedros asked, confused.
Lancelot grinned as he walked towards the horses. “Mine.”
This could have just been a mean thing from Soman to make us more upset about Lancelot’s fate, but??
Also, Tedros said that he “learned to love him like his own dad”.
So make of that what you will.
3. Solves the “Arthur’s Blood” problem-
If Tedros isn’t Arthur’s son, and he’s Lance’s that’s an easy solve of the whole “the Lion is the one with Arthur’s blood!!” thing that QFG had going on (if this doesn’t actually work I’m sorry but I’m running off my slightly dodgy memory; QFG was so stressful that I only read it once). It would also explain why Tedros can’t pull Excalibur; he’s not actually in the line of succession. That boy is illegitimate!!!!
4. TLEA and Avalon
I genuinely always think about that room intended for a child in the Avalon safe house?? I know it’s just meant to be something to upset everyone from when Tedros was nine and Guinevere was super upset to leave him etc etc etc, but Agatha wonders why Lance and Guinevere didn’t have a kid together (and Sophie makes some snide comment or other fhdhfhf) but maybe like. They did. And they had to ditch him. Whoops.
This links to my “yea Tedros isn’t even meant to be king, Agatha is!!!” theory that honestly I’m still convinced is legit (which is here) in that it would give him no need (or want…? Without the pressure of Arthur’s legacy, maybe he wouldn’t be as bothered) to be King and he could just ditch and go and live in Ooty or something. Or be Agatha’s consort, which is the god-tier ending tbh.
(I’m aware this is probably my weakest theory of the bunch, but I wanna get it out there, and I know some other people have touched on it before, too!)

So, I don’t really know what compelled me to draw these two but I figured I’d do it since they’re probably the most hated antagonists and I felt like it? It happened after the cover reveal. The background on Rhian’s side is inspired from a picture on the Handbook
I hope you like this! I spent like three weeks coloring this…my poor black color pencil…
