As the online connected world is fragmenting back into a more natural version of how we communicate in meat space, i.e. smaller group conversations, Twitter has updated their Messaging functionality to allow groups of up to 20 people to chat with each other. One quirk that could turn out to be fun is that anyone in the group can add to that 20 so people don't have to all follow each other in order to join.

Twitter also updated their in-app camera to include videos up to 30 seconds. The vids can be recorded directly in the app or you can add a video from your camera roll. Take that, 16-second Instagram…

Adaptive Path is dead. Long live Adaptive Path!

With Capital One acquiring Adaptive Path, they planted a flag firmly in the territory of User Experience Design. In an industry where the bottom line is the only line, Capital One has made the definitive statement that User Experience matters. Since 2001, Adaptive Path has championed the practice of UX by putting people at the center of our solutions and making sure businesses met their needs and desires. They literally wrote the book on User Experience before most people could even define the term.

  In a connected and mobile world, the blurred lines of paid/owned/earned or digital/physical demand an approach rooted in UX and customer journeys. Capital One has in effect made UX a competitive advantage, taking a major player off the streets and out of the consulting role. The team of experts that advised NPR, Harvard Business Review, Wells Fargo, and Intel will now be disrupting and ultimately improving the financial services industry. The good news is Adaptive Path will still publish their thoughts and continue producing conferences and workshops. The practice of User Experience Design can still benefit from Adaptive Path’s collective expertise.
