A physical game that is played between two teams with 11 players in each team. The football game was first introduced in 1863 in England with the formation of the Football Association. This game is loved by people of all stages. Also, it is easy to learn with proper guidance. Football is a passion for some rather than just a sport. This game doesn’t need any expensive equipment. There is a need for a ball and some empty space to play the game.

The history of football dates back a thousand years. In China, People played a game which was called “Cuju”, where they put a ball into the net. Similar to this game, at many more places such as Greece, Rome, and Central America. The game of Football we know now was started in England in the 19th century. In 1863, England organised the Football Association, or FA. The football association initially introduced official mandatory rules for the game. These rules helped many schools and clubs to make the game more creative and fun, also it made the game easier to play for the players. Football started gaining popularity over time.

Soon, Football reached to other countries in South America and Europe. In 1904, FIFA, the world football organisation, was founded to control International football competitions. FIFA helped football gain more fame around the world, and the rules of FIFA were to be used everywhere. 

A football is a type of game that is played between two teams, and each team carries 11 active players. One of the players within the 11 players is the goalkeeper, who will try his best to prevent the ball from entering the goal. The other remaining 10 players will work together to achieve the goal by kicking the ball into the competitor teams’ goal net. Except goalkeeper, no other player can use their hands/arms to move the ball. Goalkeepers also have this advantage only when he/she is in his/her goal area.

A Football match has 2 halves, each half carries 45 minutes, with a halftime of 15 minutes. The winning team will be the one that scores more goals. In the tournament, if the teams scored equal goals on both sides, the game ends in a draw. But in the tournament, if the game is tied, then extra time is allotted to the game for a winner. But if the goal is not scored by any of the teams, then a penalty shootout is to be done to determine a winner. 

There are a few more basic rules and regulations that are to be followed by the players. If a player disobeys the rules and regulations during the game, the referee has the power to give that player a yellow card. The Yellow card is a card given by a referee as a caution to the player for a certain type of misconduct. Some of the chances when a yellow card is allotted are when a player does unsporting behaviour, dissent by word, delays the restart of play and leaves the field without the referee’s permission. It is one of the two types of cards used in the game. A red card is given when any player commits any serious foul play, violent conduct, or uses offensive, insulting, or abusive language. The result of a red card is that the player is immediately sent off the field and not allowed to be replaced; it also makes it difficult for another team member as they have to play the rest of the match with 10 players.

There is a specific role for every player in the field. Forwards have to strike the ball and mainly focus on scoring as many goals. Midfielders have to resist the ball with their feet only if it enters their goal, helping forwards by passing the ball to them.  The defender's main task is to prevent the ball from entering the ball into their goal from their opponents and try to prevent them from passing the ball to the midfielders or forward players.  The goalkeeper has just the job of saving the ball from entering the ball into the goal field and passing the ball to their players.
