Imperialist decline was a trigger point for Germany’s turn to fascism too.

And just like in their example where veterans of Germany’s colonial genocide in Namibia became the shock troops of fascism targeting Germany’s domestic enemies, in the United States the fascist paramilitaries are heavily made up of veterans from America’s imperialist mass destruction in the decades of bombing and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The extreme racism we’ve seen metastasize into a genocidal mass across the globe can be partially attributed to major world economic crises such as we saw in 2008, and 2020 on. The Great Depression and Germany’s loss in World War I strained the capitalist-imperialist economy of Germany to the point of mass unemployment and labor agitation which included an active revolutionary socialist movement. These conditions threatened the rule of the bourgeoisie which at that point had been concentrated into a few industry monopolies increasingly reliant on financial capital for growth. So they supported the petite bourgeoise’s counter-revolutionary vanguard that is fascism which sought to crush both the minimal reforms of the liberal bourgeois republic and the revolutionary demands of an organized working class.

This explains the anti-union and anticommunist tendencies of fascism, which makes it attractive to the bourgeoise who at a deep moment of crisis rely on fascism to crush their class enemies and create scapegoats to deflect from the ruling class’s role in the crisis.

This is what you’ve been seeing. This is what we’ve been experiencing, for several years in fact.

I would argue since 9/11 America has been developing in this explicit direction of genocide, enslavement, violent racism, and political persecution. The blueprint for how they would go about it began with the War on Terror whose rhetoric of combating terrorism with bombs that don’t distinguish civilian from combatant fuels the Genocide in Gaza. Coming full circle, the War on Terror is a framework Israel was already using for decades before America explicitly made it its imperial mission. Much like Bukele’s $6,000,000 deal to enslave residents, green card holders and citizens in El Salvador is a culmination of America and Israel’s earlier support of El Salvador’s murderous junta against the socialist revolutionaries in the countryside.

Imperialism, settler colonialism and fascism are brothers. They support each other and give strength to the other.

(cw: sexual assault) the pedophile -as it is understood outside of academic circles- is a mythical creature. the idea that a complete stranger who kidnaps and sexually assaults kids is their biggest threat is absolutely insane; not one case of CSA (child sexual assault) in a hundred looks like that. CSA is committed almost uniformly by adults in a preestablished position of authority (such as family, family friends, clergy, or teachers) and in a way that a victim who doesn't know what sexual assault looks like will be left unsure what happened to them. without knowing concretely how sex and sexuality works, would you be able to tell the difference between molestation and the various other forms of unwanted physical touch and abuse kids are regularly subjected to? would it even seem that different? but parenthood and the submission of youth to adults as institutions are threatened by the reality of CSA. adults need to justify their ownership of children through an imagined outside threat constantly held at bay through their diligence. the truth - that putting yourself in such a position of authority over children directly enables abuse (including sexual abuse) - is thrown aside.

When I was a kid, I once got attacked by another kid and in the squirmish I made his nose bleed, he was shocked by that which allowed me to take control of it and knock him the fuck off me. After talking to the principal and shit I got suspended for two weeks and that kid literally got ice cream and taken back to class, when my mom had issue with it she got told he was a "good kid" who went to the same church as the principal so he couldn't possibly have done that. that day onward he kinda saw harassing me as a free pass cuz he knew he'd get away with it, which in turn other kids would start to try it to, and id end up in fights i never instigated, and i'd get slapped with the label "problem child" and had an inescapable negative rep that almost landed me in juvey once even though there was literal video tape evidence showing i defended myself.

this isn't really going to some profound point or anything it's just like, religious people start harassing people they seem unworthy even young and shit ruins lives. it's bizarre to me atheism is viewed as this inherently reactionary concept when Christians are harassing literal single digit age children for going to a different church than them.
