“We are like ignorant shepherds living on a site where great civilizations once flourished. The shepherds play with the fragments that pop up to the surface, having no notion of the beautiful structures of which they were once a part.”
Allan Bloom

jokes to make after failure that aren’t self-deprecating:
I’m the best to ever do it
Nobody saw that (best if said loudly)
No one’s ever done it like me
I could be President/they should make me President
Behold, a mere fraction of my power!
The public wants to be me soooooo bad
I’m an expert in (thing you just failed at)
How could this have happened to god’s favorite princess?
Nothing ibuprofen and a glass of water cant fix
I’m being sabotaged

Remember not to push past your body and minds limits too often. Yes, sometimes it can be necessary or even done for fun, but you deserve to prioritize your long term health and wellbeing. Sleep when you are tired, eat when you are hungry, say no when you are uncomfortable, be kind to your current and future self.

no connection without willingness to be seen. no connection without curiosity and understanding, without compassion and forgiveness. no connection without tolerance and inconvenience. no connection without the courage to divulge feelings, thoughts and needs. no connection without putting the health of the bond before pride or the comfort of hiding. no connection without embarassing yourself a little. without hard conversations, or the space and will to learn and grow. without accepting and loving imperfection

go on more walks. walk for no reason. walk to solve a problem. walk to blow off steam. walk to get outside. walk to listen, read, and learn. walk to escape distractions. walk to improve your health. walk to think. a simple walking habit can change absolutely everything.

i don’t think people understand how much of life is grief. not just people dying, but losing the version of yourself you thought you’d become. grieving the city you had to leave. the friends you lost not in argument, but in silence. the summer that will never come back. the feeling that maybe you peaked at 12 when you were reading books under the covers and believing in forever

This is a reminder for me, and for everyone else who feels like they are struggling to find an audience for their artwork, stories, music, and other contents that they share to the world.
Don’t beat yourself up for not meeting anyone’s standards and expectations of what your accomplishments of the genre of your account should be. Take care of yourself, too, because someone out there will really enjoy the work you’re putting into making for yourself only.
Don’t let anybody define who and what they think you should post. As long as a fandom or original story and oc’s makes you happy, you can take constructive criticism from those who really admire and care about your work. . . And turn it into something memorable!

It’s not talked about enough that you are allowed to be angry.
It doesn’t mean you aren’t healing. It doesn’t mean you’re failing. For me, it did mean I was healing. It meant I put the blame on the person who deserved it instead of myself.
It doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. We should be mindful of how we react to our anger as there is a difference between constructive and destructive anger, but you are never wrong for feeling angry.
You are allowed to be angry at whoever hurt you. Your anger is a valid and real feeling. And you are not alone.
