How to check ISO certification
What is ISO certification?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) develops and publishes industry standards that address customer satisfaction due to inconsistencies in production quality. Since their inception, ISO standards have integrated a number of industries, including information technology. Developments by a body are often used by governments and other organizations as the basis for their compliance.
Although voluntary, ISO based document management systems provide first-time buyers and readers the confidence in organizations and operations within organizations that are effectively managing. For ISO certification, the organization must use a third-party study, which provides independent opinion on whether the company meets the requirements. Once approved, organizations can integrate ISO certification into their web or marketing materials.  ISO covers a wide range of standards, "ISO 9001 certification" means that the company is only certified in that regard, not another.
Tumblr media
Who issued certification?
Both accreditation and certification are essential factors for ISO and the quality management system. Organizations usually confuse the two, resulting in a lack of understanding of the processes required for each. Basically, accreditation and certification are similar, but they differ in whoever does the job. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) creates thousands of standards every year, covering a variety of disciplines and topics. It produces a series of standards called management system standards to guide organizations in offering safe, durable, environmentally friendly and quality products and services. Well known standards include ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001 (Information Security). We also have ISO 22301 (business continuity) and ISO 14001 (environmental). ISO 45001 (health and safety) will be aiding for the process. There are cases where organizations are required to implement these standards. This is where the confusion between accreditation and certification comes into play.
Role of accreditation body in certification
Generally, the accreditation and certification are recognized around the world. The accredited certification body Must follow ISO 17011 compliance, which determines the acceptance process. The ISO certification is an independent third party certification.
All certification standards adhere to the principles of quality management systems, including those found in the ISO 9001 QMS standard.
Simplified, having an ISO certification means that an organization has met the requirements in a particular quality management system. For example, ISO 9001, QMS. Therefore, ISO certified certification occurs when an organization has met the ISO standard, followed by a certification body certification process.
An organization that strived to comply with standards and get certified can reap the following benefits:
·        Easily prove compliance to clients and interested parties.
·        Being independently and globally recognized for its efforts, products, and services.
·        Boost assurance to customers.
·        Better internal management and processes.
·        Increased productivity, efficiency, and profit.
·        Guaranteed customer acquisition and retention
Check the certificate status in CB website and accreditation body websites
The certification process is as follows: The standard is granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is awarded by the organization. The organization employs a certification body to test their system and provide accredited certification that the system meets the usual requirements. To allow them to do so, the certification body must be an accredited national accrediting body that oversees their work. At the same time, the national accreditation body .
Therefore, each certificate must contain the registration / certificate number, the name of the certification body and the name of the accrediting body. Without a certification or accreditation body, the certification is certainly false. If a certification and accreditation body has been identified, you can initiate an investigation to determine if the certification body is properly accredited. This is as follows:
1) Under the accreditation board search for the name of the certification body identified on the certificate
2) If the accreditation body is not on the approved list of accreditation bodies there is a problem. Or if the certification body is not on the approved list of certification bodies this is an issue.
What is the meaning if my certificate is not been listed?
The validity of each ISO certification can be verified from the website of the certification body or the accreditation body. If your certificate is not listed in the verification website it may be a certificate is
i) Not a valid Certificate (The organization may be a victim of fraudulent certification)
ii) Suspended certificate (The organization may havedelayed an Audit)
iii) Withdrawn (The organization may have missed an Audit)
Whom should I contact if for lodging complaints?
If an Organization that is ISO certified or in the process of ISO certification feel the need for complaints in any of the process of certification, Audit, they can contact the Customer Support of the Certification Body. If the Certification Body does not respond you under the speculated time the organization can contact the respective Accreditation body. If the complaint is not resolved from accreditation body the organization can Further contact IAF.

Transfer certification
The transfer certification is a term used to transfer your certification to other certification body. When an organization finds that a certification does not live up to the expectation companies can and should change the existing certification body. The new certification body accepts the state of certification within the same accreditation when it is equal to or less than 6 months
Retaining ISO 9001 certification
Obtaining ISO 9001 certification, which is an important step for any business, is only the first step in the process of continuous improvement, which is in the philosophy of ISO.
You will be amazed at how much you learn from the certification process; However, after certification, you should continue to use and maintain a management system.
There are a number of requirements that companies must meet to improve their systems and businesses, as well as provide the certification perspective.
This includes management review meetings, ongoing monitoring of customer improvement and satisfaction, as well as regular internal audits. Performing a regular internal audit is time-consuming, which not only requires knowledge and training of the ISO standard, but the person performing the audit is not involved in the work they are investigating.

3.Frequent change over of Staff : The systems and procedure established for each department needs to be understood and followed upon
4.No importance given by the top management : If the Management system is not given the right importance it shall involve in chaotic failure of implementation
5.Lack of resources : The resources in implementation such as the right infrastructure , work environment, and competent employees is the commitment given by the top management in implementation

What are the elements that cover the ISO 9001 implementation cost?
Whoever you are, whether you are a small startup company or large organization, implementing the requirements of the ISO 9001 is always a big deal for most of the organization. Whenever you are planning to implement the ISO 9001 standard, the first topic that arises in your thought is cost, the cost for ISO 9001 implementation, how much do I need to invest in implementing the ISO 9001? Because the biggest problem is, you can’t precisely decide the ISO 9001 cost.
The price for implementing the ISO 9001 depends on numerous factors. Once you get familiar with the ISO 9001 standard, it will be easier for you to decide the price range i.e. an approximate amount for ISO 9001 implementation. In this article, we will discuss the elements that cover ISO 9001 cost and the important factors that determine the ISO 9001 pricing.
What is ISO 9001?
Before we get into details, here is a brief description of what is ISO 9001 standard and how it benefits your organization.
ISO 9001 is one of the most popular standards of ISO (International Organization for Standardization). This generic standard specifies requirements to implement the quality of products and services that meet customers and as well as legal requirements. It helps to establish, monitor, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System of your organization. The requirements of ISO 9001 are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its size, type, or the products or services it provides. This is the common standard, followed by most of the organizations across the world.
How does the organization benefit by implementing the ISO 9001?
Developing the requirements of ISO 9001 to its full potential brings the following benefits to your organization.
Improved QMS performance
Enhanced quality of products and services
Better internal management
Increased credibility
Enhanced competency
Can meet customer requirements
Can satisfy statutory and regulatory requirements
Promote the reputation
Develops your business and increases profitability
Can win new business opportunities
Global recognition and so on.
Important factors that determine ISO 9001 cost
Based on the implementation option you choose, the ISO 9001 cost differs for each organization. The cost of implementing ISO 9001 depends on numerous factors.
 ·       Size of the organization
The important factor that defines the ISO 9001 cost is the size of the organization. ISO 9001 is applicable to all sizes of organizations. But, the cost will differ. For smaller or startup organizations, there are only a few employees and may have fewer documents to evaluate. So, the auditing process will be less when compared to a large organization. Also, the days to conduct an audit will be less. This will create a great impact on the ISO 9001 cost.
The complexity of the process
ISO 9001 cost also depends on the complexity of an organization process. When compared to large organizations, smaller companies will have simple processes and technology. That may result in low costs.
We can’t decide the exact cost of implementing the ISO 9001 in your organization. Here are some of the tips that may help you manage the ISO 9001 implementation cost.
  Prior knowledge
It is too important to gain the necessary knowledge for the implementation. In addition to that, you also should know how to maintain the quality management system after implementing the ISO 9001. Nowadays, you can obtain this knowledge by taking relevant training courses. There are also many online courses that may help you save money. This training is not essential for all in your organization. But, it is a must for the professionals who are involved in the ISO 9001 implementation.
Charges for external help (consulting and preparation     charges)
Other than training, you also need some extra guidance while implementing the ISO 9001. If your organizations don’t have the employees who know ISO 9001 implementation, then you can get help from outside resources like consultants.
Employees’ cost
Most of the organizations never paid attention to this topic. As the employees who are involved in the implementation process have to spend more time rather than regular working hours, they are giving their time as additional costs.
ISO 9001 Certification cost
Achieving the ISO 9001 certification is the major part in ISO 9001 cost. This certification is proof that establishes you have implemented the standard successfully. This cost also depends on the ISO certification body you choose. The accredited certification bodies always have higher prices than other local certification bodies. It is your choice to choose whether you want a globally recognized certification body or the normal one. But be careful of the fake ISO certification bodies. Some of the factors that you have to remember before choosing the certification body are,
Accreditation
Reputation
Recognition
Cost for surveillance audits
After the successful implementation of ISO 9001, there are some ISO certification bodies that will conduct surveillance audits for 3 years to implement and maintain your organization’s quality management system. This is called a re-certification audit. The cost you spend on surveillance audits will be less when compared with certification audits. But, it is not the same for all ISO certification bodies. So, make sure you have got detailed information about these costs before you start working with the ISO certification body.
Preparation is the key to success!
Be prepared, become recognized! Implementing the requirements of ISO 9001 is not an easy job. It requires lots of effort and lots of resources. Don’t get in trouble after you initiate the implementation process. There will be so many obstacles that may pull you down from reaching your goals. Never give chances for negative actions! Prevent the causes by performing a thorough analysis and having a good discussion and appropriate communication with your team members. Look into the best possible ways that will help you manage the costs and give you a better answer for each penny you invest. Your good preparation and a good strategy will help you obtain the valid results for the money you spend.
Prepare the scope of your quality management system and be confident about that. Make sure the people involved in the ISO 9001 implementation process have good knowledge about your organization and management system. Also, assign someone to lead this ISO 9001 implement process like a project manager. But keep in mind, your every action makes you confident and your management system strong and successful. So better prepared for tomorrow! Your efforts will give better results.

To date, they have published more than 22,600 relevant standards and documents in all areas, from manufacturing to food safety to accounting and health. Some common standards are used: Quality Management System ISO 9001, Environmental Management System ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management System, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, ISO 27001 Information Security Management.
These standards offer the approach of international experts. The standards themselves are a set of best practices that define product compatibility, identify security issues, and share ways and means of know-how. For example, ISO standards are the reason why an American cell phone can be associated with any problem in Europe, why food is offered in the supermarket for food, and why credit cards are used everywhere.

The Country and location of your organization
ISO standards are developed by a group of experts from around the world, referred to as a larger group and called technical committees. These experts consider all aspects of the standard, including its scope, basic definitions, and content. The development of ISO standards is based on a unified approach and takes into account the views of all actors. The technical committees include not only experts in the relevant field, but also consumer associations, academies, NGOs and the government. It is not important to get your organization, country, or location a certificate.
Certification body and its credentials
In fact, anyone can give you a certificate stating your ISO; but some on has been hired (ie licensed) for the job, so you should see if this certification body is accredited or not. So, that’s it - like any other service provider, you have to do your homework and choose the best one for you. Do not forget about the total cost of the service you receive and the price of the opportunity to lose.
Variations in costs between CB
Some accreditation of certification bodies sets the prices differently. Each certification body is affiliated with a different accreditation body. Based on the cost calculation method of enrollment, certification, tracking and certification, CB may charge you a different amount.
How to choose a good CB with low cost
It is important for the certification body to provide the correct number of audit days at a fair price, but you have also spent three years certification at initial cost. Certification authorities usually offer you a price that covers the entire three years, but it is important to understand that this does not include these costs. It depends on the size and scope of your organization, the certification area, the activities and processes in which your organization participates, as well as the performance of each of these activities. Even if your certification body is unable to provide consulting services, it is important to choose a certification body that will provide you with the right support at the right time. A competent auditor is important to improve the added value to the certification process
How to reduce existing certification costs
Integrated Management System
If you are planning on planning two or more ISO standards, you can actually ask your certification authority to perform an integrated audit. This means that you do not have to go through individual testing for each system (and pay for each), but you can audit each of these systems - not only save you time (integrated audit). takes less time than some separate checks), but - yes, you pay less
Training
In order to effectively implement a management system or make changes to new ISO requirements, ensure that personnel are quickly executed and that new processes are properly, well-studied and documented. Advanced training programs that make it easy for employees to make changes in their daily routine. Additionally, competent and reliable staff will reduce the risks and hassles that help your organization save money.
Transfer

You will be amazed at how much you learn from the certification process; However, after certification, you should continue to use and maintain a management system.
There are a number of requirements that companies must meet to improve their systems and businesses, as well as provide the certification perspective.
This includes management review meetings, ongoing monitoring of customer improvement and satisfaction, as well as regular internal audits. Who needs ISO Certification?
Purpose of ISO certification
ISO certification ensures that a management system, has all the requirements for standardization as per the ISO standards. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental and international organization that develops standards for the quality, safety and effectiveness of products, services and systems.
ISO certifications are available in many industries, from energy management and social responsibility to medical devices and energy management. ISO standards are designed to ensure compliance. Each certification has different standards and criteria and is numerically classified.
International standards mean that consumers trust in their products can be safe, reliable and of good quality. ISO standards on road safety, gaming safety, and medical kits are just some of the things that contribute to a safer world.
Tumblr media
Supply Chain and Customer satisfaction
An ISO certification can improve an organization by improving the performance of its process. The ISO insists on adhering the Strict Standards and guidelines developed by the best practices followed all round the world. An Organization which is ISO certified can improve the whole supply chain both down the line and to the customers improving the customer satisfaction
Most of the ISO standards are developed to Standardize the process that are being followed in an organization. Depending upon the Industries there are many standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 applicable to the organization. Each standards concentrates to satisfy all the interested parties including the customer

Relation between customer satisfaction and business improvement
Many companies want to implement an ISO certificate just to fulfill a customer need. The client says that it only works with ISO certified vendors to get (or hold) the work for which the certificate is required. The problem with these companies is that they are looking for short term payments. They see something different as an advantage - we need money and ignore long-term benefits, such as "if we keep the customer satisfied, they want to come back".
They do not cover the concept of quality through continuous improvement. They do not understand that the ultimate goal is customer satisfaction. See, you can get an ISO certificate (which is an ISO certificate) that requires ISO certification without seeing the actual process or refinement. Focusing on this is just one benefit - your immediate benefit - without putting the customer in front of you will cost you dearly in the future. Hopefully some management system ideas can break down and eventually shut down ... but do you want to believe a plan behind happiness?
After obtaining your ISO certificate, you will be able to advertise quality certification and respond to pricing requests (RFQs) from companies that make ISO certification "mandatory". ISO certification can open up new markets that you could not get to your certification.
No process and no one is perfect. A well-managed system allows your company to reach perfection. Over time, processes get better, more consistent, and when you reach your goals with regular adherence, you see significant results. Your process waste is reduced to one person.
Waste is lost forever. Waste results of poor quality and inefficiency. Chaos arises from change and inconsistent processes. Reduce change, improve consistency, and you'll have less losses ... and more money. It's easy!
Need for ISO in manufacturing Industries
An ISO certification can Meet the customer requirements, Get more revenue and business from New customers, Improve company and product quality, increase customer satisfaction with your products, describe, understand and communicate your company process, develop a professional culture and better employee morale, Improve the consistency of your operations, focus management and employees, Improve efficiency, reduce waste, and save money, achieve internal recognition. The most common ISO certification for an Manufacturing industries are ISO 9001 (Quality management system, ISO 14001 Environmental Management system, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and management System, ISO 22000 Food safety management system, ISO 27001 Information security management System.
Need for ISO in Service Industries
ISO certification is common in the manufacturing sector, but less common in service-oriented industries, as well as construction. For example, the process of creating, perfecting and improving a widget has been carefully analyzed for many years throughout the organization and its importance is widely understood. However, it is more difficult to imagine a single standard of process over a service company with different motives, parameters, timelines and protocols. This is why the introduction of a management system is so expensive.
Internal benefits
·        Provides an effective management process with top management
·        Identifies areas of responsibility throughout the organization
·        Deliver a positive message to employees and customers
·        Identifies and encourages efficient and time-saving processes
·        Note the major disadvantages
·        Reduce your costs
·        Provides continuous evaluation and improvement
·        Marketing opportunities
External benefits
·        Quality and service were improved
·        Timely disposition
·        The first approach is correct
·        Less products and complaints came back
·        An independent audit shows the quality
